Fortunately, here on Reddit, we have a dedicated group of users who maintain order through the sheer, gentle strength of their intellectual depth, only resorting to verbal sparring when things truly escalate.

It’s exhausting work, certainly, but I find it ultimately worthwhile.

That said, I also have to align myself with my de facto fellow moderators; you wouldn't think anyone would bother saying thanks, ☕

Are you attempting to emulate someone like Tim Cook back in 2011? 😁

Gentlemen, you’ve completely misread the situation; nobody is offering themselves up to anyone. You’re all being far too precious in your assumptions, aren't you? ☕

What exactly constitutes "customized" in this context? ☕

His application for moderator was such an absolute train wreck that he’s completely lost his way. ☕

If I actually had twenty-five thousand and change fingers to work with, wouldn't you all want me to show them off right now?

I was thinking about asking this somewhere else, but I can't find a dedicated chat room or anything similar here. I was wondering, what are the odds of someone starting a single thread specifically focused on transfer news within the five-a-side leagues?

We usually see a similar thread pop up during the summer months. For example.

Check out the chat.

My bad if this isn't really the right spot for this, so if anyone actually knows how to move threads around, please feel free to toss this where it belongs.

So, I’ve been sitting on this idea to run a "Mercato Cup" (that's just my name for it, anyway). I haven't ironed out all the messy details yet, but I wanted to float it here first to see if anyone would actually give a damn or if I'm just talking to myself.

Basically, it’s a game where you try to predict player transfers. Once the transfer window slams shut, whoever nailed the most moves walks away with the most points. Simple enough.

Here’s a quick, rough sketch of how it would work. If people actually show interest, I'll put together something more detailed in a few days.

The plan is to split players into different groups, and each group would carry a different point value.

For instance, one group could have 10 players, and if you nail a transfer from that bunch, you get 10 points. Like, if someone like Dani Olmo moves to AC Milan and you called it, you bag those 10 points. Boom.

That's the gist of it. Hopefully, enough of you are down for this so I can actually bother making a full breakdown and we can decide whether to pull the trigger on this or just let it die.

Hey everyone—will we be getting those Champions League and Europa League threads up for this season? Also, I’m curious if there will be any score predictions for the UCL games this year.

So, they’re merging all these PDFs together, yet the PDF fans are still clinging to the old way even when there’s barely any info left on them, if anything at all?

The big bosses were against splitting up the HNL data back when it first happened—heaven knows when that was—but honestly, keeping it unified is just cleaner and easier to read than having everything scattered everywhere. I don't really care about the specifics, but I fail to see the point here; unless, of course, Anderslona is trying to save some pennies by managing fewer files?

Yeah, we know the Fans aren't active—we're looking for a fix for that PDF too, though nothing's been decided yet.

Merging them will kill some of the organization—but all active threads from both PDFs will fit right on the front page of Soccer—so we won't have those old days where you had to click through to a second page just to see what was happening.

Should we perhaps split these into separate chat threads?

Nah, the American soccer chat is pretty dead anyway—don't see much point in keeping it open🤷

What a total classic. This takes me right back to the days when club-specific threads were strictly forbidden—back when everyone just crowded into one massive MLS discussion thread. What absolute chaos that was...

Bravo, this is much better 👍

Group the fans together too; there's barely any activity there anyway 👍

And how exactly is Boka supposed to lead the charge against the guys from Strac?

First she decided to socially distance herself from those fortune tellers—and now this. I honestly can't decide which blow landed harder 😬

The States Cup is canceled—thanks to coronavirus.
