It reminded me of dealing with a clerk at a local DMV office when you're just trying to get some basic paperwork sorted out.

Look, she doesn't moderate the Sports section, but she stepped in, saw what was happening, took responsibility, and made a fair call. On the flip side, you have six moderators for Sports, and what do we get? Two show up just to say they have no idea what's going on, and one tells us the complaint should have been filed through the official grievance channel instead of here. Honestly, Nice did a fine job.

Give me a break. Seriously, at least another 500 people should have been banned by now given how much crap gets posted here.

Then, when someone actually earns a ban because they say things you wouldn't even say to an animal, let alone a person, everyone acts shocked. "Oh, why was he banned? He's such a model forum member," blah blah blah.

If this were a normal US forum, bans would be handed out like candy.☕

Anthony Jackson2 was only wrong about this guy in one way: he put up with him for way too long. His outbursts, especially on the MLS threads, crossed the line ages ago.

I’m officially putting my name in the ring for moderator on this PDF.

Since at least 50% of you people here can't stand me, I'd say that's a pretty solid indicator that I have exactly what it takes to be an enforcer.

I’ll be a heavy-handed moderator; under my watch, warnings and bans will be handed out like candy in the NFL. We're talking instant 100, 200, 500, or 1000-day penalties. No playing nice.

Quick question for the current mod team. Is there any chance one of our regular users—specifically an Atlanta United fan—could step up as a moderator for this corner of the site? I feel like it would be more balanced if someone from our side handled this section, especially since the discussion about the Seattle Sounders is being moderated by a Sounders supporter, and the Portland Timbers thread is run by a Timbers fan. It might be worth mentioning that the vast majority of active posters on this entire board are actually Atlanta fans, so it feels a little strange that we don't have at least one moderator who also roots for the team.

The bans were overturned later on... Bryan Adams6 even had a ban lifted for Charles Roberts33 over some nonsense regarding an offside call, which required Ryan Vaughn7 to step in and fix it.

Now I see that neonorca38 just dumped 500 (!) points on Taylor Gonzalez79 for an offside violation, claiming it was "trolling," when in reality, he was simply expressing his opinion regarding COVID... and doing so right in the main discussion thread, no less. 🤦
Ryan Vaughn7, please, I implore you to intervene once again and overturn these bans, because this entire situation is utterly nonsensical..

Good grief, it is glaringly obvious that Bryan Adams6 and neonorca38 haven't quite mastered the nuances of moderation, which frankly makes things worse for everyone involved.. they are young, I suppose, and perhaps they will learn from their mistakes.. but if they continue to act this recklessly, they might just drive away the few dedicated people actually contributing to the forums.

That’s not it. Don't put words in my mouth. I never said you were ridiculous—that's just not true. It's more that people can get a bit irrational sometimes. Not all the time, obviously, but when you get caught up in a frenzy like this recent obsession with Livaja. It's a bit much, if I'm being honest.
But look, that's beside the point. This isn't some fan forum where every single group gets their own dedicated moderator. We operate under different criteria here.

People from Miami are incredibly volatile and self-destructive. If things don't go their way, they leave nothing but scorched earth behind them. Maybe they picked up that habit from someone else back in the day, who knows.

I've been treating myself for that diagnosis for years now. It isn't easy, but I'm making progress, one small step at a time.
