Here’s the link to the thread.

If you actually bother to read through it, you'll see a massive pile of homophobic slurs and insults aimed at lesbians and the rest of the LGBT community.

A thread like this has absolutely no business being on a platform that claims to promote decency and basic manners.

Not a single user has been banned, let alone given an official warning.

Even without digging deep—just looking at the opening post—you can already spot a mountain of attacks directed at women as a whole.

But, honestly, don't even bother; you're just going to get the same old canned response: "Oh, this is Men's Corner, that's allowed here, this kind of stuff is encouraged and treated as a joke, the guys are just messing around, they don't mean it seriously, blah blah blah." I think the last person who raised similar complaints about this specific subreddit ended up getting nuked—well, I'm not entirely certain, but I'm pretty sure those moderators sent them straight to a permanent ban.

The real issue arises when someone uses a bit of common sense to ask why this same level of "universal tolerance" isn't applied to other subreddits—ranging from the Women's Corner, which would be the most logical comparison, all the way to LJESa and similar chatterboxes (though, heaven forbid, someone suggests that LJESa and its ilk are actually places for serious debate).

That’s where the moderators themselves step onto incredibly slippery ground; they end up using arbitrary interpretations to decide whether a statement is punishable or just "healthy male banter," depending entirely on whether it was allegedly written seriously or jokingly—and whether it happened on this specific subreddit where such things are supposedly funny, or somewhere else.

So, really, why waste your breath? Just give up.

A topic like that shouldn't even be on a forum that promotes decency and etiquette.

I don't believe it's the mission of this forum to promote "decency" in that stiff, pedantic sense, and certainly not "etiquette."

I disagree. If you examine the topic objectively, it becomes quite clear that a small group of people supporting same-sex marriage has essentially hijacked the discussion, attempting to force their viewpoint on everyone else through a barrage of offensive remarks.
The issue isn't that you're being targeted; it's that you're feeling offended because you can't grasp—or more likely, refuse to accept—that there are people out there who simply, stubbornly, and fundamentally cannot accept your lifestyle.
So, you feel insulted by a different opinion? You feel slighted by opposing views or the fact that others don't validate your identity? Well, go ahead and feel insulted. You have plenty of time for that.

Under Article 5 of the Family Law of the United States, marriage is legally defined as the union between a woman and a man. Because of that, "lesbian marriage" isn't actually a legal thing, so you can't really claim someone is being offensive by joking about something that doesn't exist in the eyes of the law.
It’s honestly just like getting all worked up because someone made a silly joke about SpongeBob SquarePants.

I suppose this kind of logic would usually serve as enough ground to lock a thread and demand a rephrase, but it certainly isn't a valid excuse for the initial trolling (not just directed at lesbians, but generally speaking) and the subsequent pile of other posts.

I know, I know—it's MK, where everything is permitted and supposedly hilarious. ☕

BTW, if I were actually "joking about something that doesn't exist," I’d be a bit worried. Or, at the very least, I'd probably look into changing my supplier. 😁

Since when did the Family Law of the United States suddenly become the gold standard for accuracy and fairness? That doesn't give you any right to label us as "sick" or whatever else. It’s just not happening.

Pure homophobia right here:

Netflix said:You're seriously getting on my nerves, you're becoming exhausting, and that's exactly what pushes people away. It's not like anyone thinks two Gay people shouldn't have equal rights, but you're out here trying to lecture everyone and act like your opinion is the absolute truth.
Go ask Lucica if anyone ever gets insulted on MK just for being Gay. No. It's people like you, pushing some half-baked liberal philosophy about things that don't matter and forcing your views on everyone else, that's actual mental harassment.

It’s kind of like making fun of people who worry about GMOs. You know how it goes—the media outlets always have some spokesperson claiming everything is perfectly fine, basically implying that if you're against it, you're just uneducated or stuck in the past. I guess.

At the end of the day, people just have to accept that GMOs are fine. If you start claiming you wouldn't want them on your own land, then you're basically messing with the free market... which makes you a GMO phobe, I guess.

So now they want to take it public too? Honestly, trying to police what people say even in their own homes... that’s just insane. 😁

Well, if we're being honest, SpongeBob SquarePants doesn't exist either. 🤷

Time for a little trash talk:

Digitall said:I honestly don't give a damn about gay or lesbian people as long as they keep all that stuff out of my sight. But this whole thing about how we raise kids? It’s getting way too overblown. Insane.Just imagine the headspace of that poor kid who’s never going to have an actual father or mother. I don't care if someone tries to step up and play the part—it’s just not the same. Between that and how his social circle reacts to his parents, he’s basically hardwired for a "broken" life. He's always going to be the target of some kind of ridicule or judgment somewhere. It's heavy.
😢

So, we’re actually sick... This is terrifying.

You can find just about anything on here—honestly, pretty much every post is total garbage.

It’s not that. It’s more about how raising kids with two parents of the same sex is being framed as if it’s exactly the same thing as having a mom and a dad. 😉

Maybe read a bit closer.

Well, I read about ten replies, and all I saw was a bunch of stereotypes. Nothing more, nothing less. Mostly. If you took it personally, I guess that's on you—for choosing to go in there and read it. Unbelievable.

But I suppose that's the kind of tolerance we get from you liberal liberals. Anyone who doesn't think exactly like you should, at the very least, be silenced. 🙄

Look, if he was talking about you, I totally get it. Most straight people will accept gays and lesbians, but at the same time, most find annoying gays and lesbians grating. In my experience, lesbians are often much more intense than gays. Especially with activism. Like they're trying to convince themselves of something. Maybe.

No. The guy just wrote his opinion on whether same-sex couples should have the right to adopt children. What's so scandalous about that? 🤷 Is some sort of natural right being denied here? I don't see it.

Two men can never truly step in to fill a mother's role, just like two women can't replace a father,

And honestly, leave the kids out of this whole mess if you don't want them getting mocked by everyone around them—they'll just end up carrying those traumas forever,

As for how the law works in the US, it is what it is. If you choose to ignore it, you're acting illegally, and then you're the one facing the consequences, not us. 👍

That’s just how things work over at MK—I know, it sounds like a pathetic excuse, but honestly, pretty much every thread there exists solely for the sake of mockery... which, fine, they can be entertaining to quote from a distance, but please, don't go wading into that mess unless you actually know how to bake a damn pie or if you're prepared to upload photos of your breasts 😉

Why are you letting them get under your skin like this... I think I understand why, but still... it's really just a corner of the internet where men go to act like total idiots 😬

If you decide to sign up for MK just to get personally insulted, you probably shouldn't be reading it in the first place.

As for hate speech, I haven't actually noticed any. To be fair, I haven't been following the thread closely.

bluerider41, a word of advice: if you have a sensitive stomach, thin skin, or anything else like it, stay away from Men's Corner. This crowd is relentless, brutal, and they will absolutely tear you apart.

Honestly, the guys are alright, they just act superior about every little thing. (I have no idea why anyone would bother hanging out with them in the first place).

Oh, so they don't actually police the verbal abuse against minorities over there? Sounds like a convenient excuse just to drag us through the mud...

Look, you've already got two moderators from MK giving you answers. Maybe try reading a bit more carefully instead of getting worked up at people who are just chilling and having fun their own way. Honestly, nobody cares who's hanging out with whom; they’re just messing around and minding their own business.

Whatever, I'm done. Why am I even trying to explain things to someone who refuses to accept anything and just insists on doing things their own way?

You can't just joke around when it comes to someone's actual life. What they're mocking is reality to me, so I don't find it funny—it’s tasteless. It shouldn't be tolerated just because it's happening on MK. I started a thread about dogs and used the term "cranky old ladies" to describe those walking them, and my intro was wiped and the whole thread stolen. Basically, my input isn't respected. Double standards everywhere. Well, not on my watch. Just because some group of guys thinks it's hilarious doesn't make it okay, and it shouldn't be allowed. I'll take this straight to Anderlon and tear this whole thing down because this behavior is completely unhinged.
