Well, then half the people on there deserve a partial ban if you ask me, because let's be real, the place is crawling with clones. I was actually the first one to get banned just because I was honest about it. Such a stupid reason to kick someone off the subforum. ☕

Fine, then I'll head over to the archives myself.

I mean, which part of this is actually confusing to you? Of course there are clones—but, just because an ad is posted under a clone doesn't suddenly make the ad itself fraudulent. People have their reasons for not wanting their identity tied to an ad on the forum, but that doesn't change the fact that the offer isn't fake.

What exactly is the issue here?

And regardless of all that, what kind of "defense" is that—using the "everyone does it" excuse? Do you actually know anyone who got caught and was subsequently cleared? If you don't, then what are you even trying to accomplish with that argument?

Say I wrote a fake ad with this account, would I get a partial ban then? How many of those other ads over there are actually legit?
And why did it have to result in such a massive punishment? It's not like I was insulting anyone or screwing anyone over using that clone; I just wanted to see how many people would actually respond, nothing more. Man, suddenly I'm some huge problem in the US, yet when clones constantly show up in the US and start new threads, acting like they've been around for a hundred years, nobody bats an eye, even though I haven't done anything serious. That whole mockery of those ads started by the US moderators is clearly just standard stuff—you can question things, poke fun at them, and ridicule certain criteria people were looking for. In my book, that also deserves a partial ban, because making fun of someone's standards just because they want something normal and honest is pretty damn rude if you ask me. ☕

EDIT: Just gonna drop the link to that thread, specifically the first post where they're making fun of the people placing those ads and then I'm the one getting told I'm mocking people, while when the moderators do it, it's perfectly fine...☕

Who is "WE"? Find me one single post where I ever made fun of anyone, or just stop talking nonsense. You are such an obvious troll that anyone reading this thread can clearly see why you received a partial ban.
Then half the people there should just get a partial ban too, if you ask me, because there are definitely clones everywhere. It’s just that I was the first one banned because I actually admitted to it. It seems like a pretty stupid reason to kick someone off that subforum. ☕

And you're doing it again. Trolling, twisting things, making stuff up. This way you communicate is enough reason to never let you near the Lonely Heart subforum again.
Go ahead then. 👋

Oh, and as far as I'm concerned, feel free to lock this. I think I've explained myself more than enough.

I’d tell you who the real troll is, but I’m trying to be a gentleman here. Maybe take a second to reflect on what you actually consider trolling, because calling someone's normal conversation "trolling" is just plain embarrassing. As Inspector Callahan would say, "everyone's entitled to their opinion, even if it's garbage." 🙂
And I'm not twisting anything—you guys literally created that thread just to mock people for what they were looking for in their ads. Yeah, it was rude to start it, and it was rude to leave it up. You guys messed up big time, including that little corner with the homework assignments which, let's be real, has absolutely no business being part of the Lonely Hearts subforum. Total fail. ☕ You might want to ask yourself how much these people actually like or respect you, because my impression is a little different. 😉 Thank God most people actually value my input, and as for the tiny minority I might bother, I honestly couldn't care less since they're just a handful of people hiding behind their usernames anyway. I can't wait until all the trolls start flocking to Lonely Hearts; they'll wreck it just like they did to LJES. 🙂

So, let me get this straight—insulting people, being openly aggressive, and getting targeted by more than just one random user, all gets rewarded by the mods only in "exceptional circumstances"?

It's a joke.

If this were any other subforum, I wouldn't even bother mentioning it. But on a board that was basically a private circus until yesterday, this is honestly pathetic. By the way, can we just clone the moderators so they can open threads based solely on what *they* find funny? 🙂

That's my two cents.

Are you really asking me that? Since I have absolutely no idea whose "private circus" you're referring to—which moderator, which clone, or which thread—I don't really know how to respond. Put the links out in the open. 😉

Hey, feel free to call it whatever you want. Honestly, it’s almost worth the effort just to dig through all this garbage—half of which was deleted before anyone could even get a reaction—just to see someone actually get rewarded for it.

That’s all I have to say about that. 😕

Look, I really don't follow all the forum gossip or who is feuding with whom, so I honestly can't speak to anyone's underlying motives or any private drama between moderators that might be causing these half-truths. It seems like people are just trying to drag the entire moderation team of this subforum into the mud. If you have a specific issue with how the Lonely Heart section is being run, then just lay it all out there and be done with it. But don't do this.

She’d better watch her mouth regarding how we handle moderation here in the States, otherwise she might just find herself chilling in the ban corner. ☕

I’m not either. What I was getting at is pretty obvious the second you land on this subforum. I shouldn't even have to scream "The Emperor has no clothes" at you, especially since you're a moderator.

I don't have any issues here besides what I just said. For instance, I didn't see Jeffrey Cooper7 tearing anyone apart or calling them some deranged names. 🤷
Just so we're clear, I'm not playing defense for anyone; I just can't stand double standards.

And honestly, that’s everything I’ve got to say about it.

The fact that you and a few others don't care for mistypanther's writing style has nothing to do with why Jeffrey Cooper7 received a partial ban. It doesn't justify it, sorry, but it really doesn't. mistypanther acts as a moderator approved by the forum owner, whereas Jeffrey Cooper7 earned his partial ban based on the judgment of the moderator, lonely heart. I guess you probably don't read every single post on this subforum and don't know the users here as well as the moderators do, so it makes sense that you missed certain things.

Look, I’m sorry, but I just can't wrap my head around someone who acts one way on one subforum while bickering with people there, only to turn around and complain about the exact same thing in a different thread. I realize you don't really get where I'm coming from either, so maybe we should just call it quits here.

Well, bravo. Just keep it coming. 👋

Why is it that you always manage to bring everything back down to a personal level—as if, in your mind, some kind of personal vendetta is the only possible reason behind anyone’s observations or critiques?

It’s practically impossible—or at least, that's how I see it—that someone could claim to dislike something without there being some underlying personal agenda or a hidden inclination toward playing those little behind-the-scenes games. I mean, really, think about it. It’s almost a mathematical certainty that if someone is pushing a certain narrative or expressing distaste, there’s a motive lurking somewhere in the shadows, right? Maybe it's ego, maybe it's just plain old manipulation... I guess you could say nothing happens in a vacuum.

By the way—are you really that out of the loop when it comes to all the forum gossip? I mean, how do you even know that forum drama exists in the first place?

Once again, we're pivoting to personal attacks. 🤦

It isn't about whether or not anyone "likes" a particular individual's prose—that’s irrelevant here. The real issue is that Jeffrey Cooper7 was essentially slapped down for mocking people in the classified ads section, all while a perfectly legitimate discussion was happening where several people—and by the way, when I mentioned "just look at what was said to the advertisers in the opening post," I wasn't referring to the author of that post (actually, I just realized I misremembered who actually kicked off this thread)—were being brutally ridiculed and insulted by those participating in the vote.

What matters is that this entire topic had the general blessing of the moderators—which, let's be clear, is entirely your prerogative—but if that's the case, one has a right to expect some level of consistency.

So, given the sheer number of valid reasons available, you reached for the wrong one. And you missed. 😁

First off, if mistypanther is supposed to be a moderator, he should actually be setting an example for everyone else. Secondly, he’s constantly offending Christian believers by constantly bringing up Jesus in contexts where it’s totally out of line. Look, I get it—if you aren't a believer, maybe you're agnostic, Muslim, or whatever—but you should still show a little respect for other faiths. That really should be common sense for everyone. Third, while the owner did approve mistypanther, that was based on your recommendation, not anyone else's. And please, don't give me that "we moderators see everything" routine, because you clearly don't. You miss all those massive trolls who are constantly spinning up new threads, and you don't catch the trolling or the off-topic nonsense fast enough to nip it in the bud, yet there you are, four of you sitting there waiting for yourselves to pat yourselves on the back for doing such a "wonderful" job? Honestly, Brandon Castillo is the only one who left me with even a remotely positive impression among all the moderators on this entire site, but as for the rest of you, not a chance—and I don't blame him if he agrees it's best to stay away from me. ☕ It's pretty obvious I stepped on your toes, isn't it? ☕

Look, I mean this in the most constructive way possible, but two things just aren't clicking for me: first, if you genuinely hold such a low opinion of the US, why does it bother you so much that they’ve disabled posting over there? 😕

Second—and again, I'm just offering some friendly advice here—you might want to take a moment to actually reflect on your logic and the way you're presenting it. Honestly, you've managed to convince even the completely indifferent bystanders—people who, by the way, are constantly being accused of having some sort of grudge against you (which, I suppose, is supposed to lead to them siding with you, though I don't see how) 😕—that you are, quite frankly, a very unpleasant forum member. Aside from those first few sentences, you haven't really articulated through any single sentence that you actually grasp how wrong your actions were, let alone that you feel any genuine remorse for them.

The reality is pretty straightforward: the moderators have a specific vision for what the PDF should look like. The PDF has a decent number of people who enjoy being there, and it has a healthy amount of threads where those people interact—and that's really all there is to it. If you walk into a bar and don't like the music or the vibe, what exactly are you going to do about it? 🙂

Leave the others out of this; that's a separate issue entirely.

Not to mention how many times you've edited your posts just now—calling my points lies, then deleting them, and then coming back later to claim I have "ulterior motives." 🤦

I gotta admit, though, I definitely didn't see a reaction like this coming.

The second I started typing my post, you immediately jumped to a diagnosis—something like, "Aha, I see, you just don't like a certain user. Next!" You apply that exact same diagnosis to others, even when the situation is completely different, without even blinking.

So, I supposedly mentioned something halfway? Or I'm "poking" someone?

BTW, reacting with an "aha, I know exactly why you're writing this" is trolling by definition—because instead of discussing the actual content, you're shifting the debate toward someone's actual motives. It's honestly sad.

Ever since the moderators mistypanther and Brandon Castillo4 took over the US subforum, the whole vibe has shifted. On one hand, you’ve got a specific group of users practically throwing a parade for the moderators' unique "style." On the other hand, a lot of people were pretty blindsided by how they actually carry themselves—which mostly involves insults, belittling others, and throwing around slurs. Naturally, any posts calling out this kind of behavior were scrubbed immediately, so that part shouldn't come as a surprise.

I’ve been around the US forum long enough to notice that you, mistywolf17, have really started acting like you own the place ever since you got some guys backing you up. Don't think for a second that people are blind or stupid; even if they don't feel comfortable posting publicly or just don't want the drama, the frustration is definitely being voiced in private messages.

The US forum used to be a space dedicated to i venting about being a lonely heart, but it has morphed into a playground where certain users basically just tear apart anyone who doesn't fit their mold.

That said, after a few pointed comments were made, there has been a noticeable shift. The language and the general attitude have toned down slightly, becoming somewhat more civil. It's telling, though.

Personally, all of this just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I haven't felt personally insulted or targeted, but still—just so we're clear—shit is shit, no matter how much people try to sweep it under the rug.

A little less ego and a little more self-awareness wouldn't hurt anyone.

Regarding the "picking on people" part, I was talking about boldwalker12 since you were quoting her post anyway. I assumed you'd catch that. And I know you did. But if you did, how could you then write "sad"? Honestly.

As for you, that's just my opinion, especially since we had a similar debate about this very thing recently. We didn't understand each other then, either.

@boldwalker12, what, is the fact that I edit my posts your main argument now? Sorry, my thoughts are a bit slow, so I go back and add to them later. Whatever. 😢
