You have to want it bad enough to build a whole persona around some random username. I guess you just end up hitting posts where you're dying to tell someone to shut up or get lost, but maybe that constant urge to see them moderated always holds you back.
There was this one thread on Reddit a long time ago, I think it was in the psychology sub. Some guy was trying to figure out why moderators actually bother doing what they do—because regardless of what anyone says, it’s a tough job—but he was basically trying to prove that it isn't actually free work.
I mean, I honestly think the mods are doing it for the money, like they're getting paid for how they act (not in cash, obviously).
If we're actually following that logic, you gotta go after the root cause, because moderation is just a symptom.
I guess you just gotta have that thing the mods give you deep down inside, and like, be hungry enough to actually go after it. Maybe.
I'm not saying every single moderator was picked on purpose. Some of them definitely just drifted into the role by accident, but I guess it’s all part of the same process anyway.
Yeah, whatever, I don't want to be a mod. I don't really care if other people feel like they need to be mods or whatever, though. I guess it just seems like a weird need to have.
Honestly, I can't stand the people who only act tough because they have some tiny bit of authority here. It’s just a way for them to feel important since nobody actually respects them in real life, I guess.

Yeah, maybe there's another candidate out there—someone from China—who'd be an amazing moderator. But honestly, it’s embarrassing to admit, and you guys will probably just lose her talent and goodwill if you don't figure out who she is. So, if the admin is actually interested, maybe hit me up via PM? I guess she'd just be pissed if I called her out publicly as a candidate.
