Basically, women who have a desire for anal sex—whether they realize it or not—but don't have an outlet for it, end up suffering from psychogenic anal pruritus. It happens when they can't bring themselves to ask a partner, if they aren't close enough yet, or if there's just too much fighting and a lack of trust in the relationship... it all builds up.

It can manifest as anything from a few "mini flare-ups" over a couple of days to this absolutely maddening itching that doctors can't find a physical cause for. You see it more often in women holding high-pressure jobs, people dealing with chronic stress, those going through long periods of sexual abstinence, or anyone stuck in a relationship where their sexual needs just aren't being met.

If she's actually in a relationship, then psychotherapy really needs to involve both partners to work...

What a load of nonsense.🤣

Tell me, is this strictly a female thing or does it happen to men too? I'm guessing if you're gay, you'd deal with the exact same issues.🤷

Just grab some damn cream or get some injections—and hey, if that doesn't cut it, just go for the retinol.👍

The book doesn't actually specify gender, so I'm pretty sure it applies to everyone. I lent my copy to a buddy so I can't double-check right now, but hey, I managed to scan a few lines from another source for the skeptics out there... 🙂

I clearly have way too much time on my hands today🙄

Why did I even bother starting this thread in the first place? And then I get some guy telling me there’s a God watching over my shoulder. Well, thanks a million, really. Much appreciated. 🙏🙏🙏

Look, quit being so worked up. Facts are facts—use that cream, like I already told you. It’s for hemorrhoids, which, let's be real, can be a total nightmare. And just wash down there with lukewarm water, because hot water is just gonna make the inflammation worse. Also, about that whole mess we made at the start... my bad, seriously. 😉

Okay, where exactly did you get the idea that I'm dealing with any of that? 😂 😂😂
This is my first time even opening this thread. 🤣

Thomas Collins60 said:Honestly, it might just be that you're using the wrong cleanser—maybe try a dedicated intimate wash specifically for that area instead of just using whatever body wash or shampoo you use for your hair or skin...

Could be. I mean, I get itchy if I use plain old soap or something harsh. Does it turn red after you scratch at it, like, once a few hours have passed?

Sam Hall15, I don't get it... you say you're scrubbing too hard and then act surprised when things start itching. It happens to me too—more like a sting, really—whenever I use cheap, rough toilet paper..
Regarding the hemorrhoids, that’s definitely a possibility. They don't always have to be massive lumps; even if they just swell up a tiny bit, it can cause an itch... at least that's how it works for me. I can usually tell if the itch is coming from a small lump forming or if things are actually improving. I guess you just get used to everything eventually. Better this than having to deal with constant issues just to stay healthy...

Or maybe it's just the spicy food? Or are you pulling my leg?
Maybe there are bugs in the woods?! 😂

Best,👍

I haven't run into that issue myself...

It could be perianal dermatitis or perhaps pruritus ani due to unknown causes 😁 In any case, there is a slight possibility of pinworms, so you should definitely see a doctor to get a stool culture ordered. In the meantime, try not to scrub the area too aggressively—gentle cleansing only (can you believe I’m actually saying this?)—and follow up with some mild anti-inflammatory compresses, like chamomile... If the itching becomes unbearable, ask your physician about an antihistamine prescription.

Honestly, it could be something like a perianal abscess, which is no joke—it can get life-threatening pretty fast and might even require emergency surgery under general anesthesia. So, yeah, you should probably just head to the doctor ASAP. It could be anything at this point! 🤷

Wait, what if someone's skin got all chafed from anal sex and now their shampoo is actually stinging?

honestly, maybe they've got herpes. seriously, just go see a doctor. it's stupid to be debating this here. if someone actually wants a real answer, they should just pick up an encyclopedia and stop wasting everyone's time.🤷🤷☕

My ass is driving me absolutely insane; the itching comes in waves and it’s enough to make me lose my mind. Does anyone know how to treat this? Is there a way to fix it naturally? It’s been going on for about a month now, maybe a little longer. Honestly, when I’m taking a crap, it feels like the waste is just scratching me from the inside :S Any advice?

I don't want to freak you out or anything, but intense itching can sometimes be a sign of something pretty serious (though it could also just be something totally trivial). So, I’d definitely suggest you go see a specialist—like a proctologist—just to rule out stuff like a PERIANAL ABSCESS. If it actually is an abscess, that's a really nasty, life-threatening situation that needs immediate surgery, kind of like a burst appendix, and one of the early warning signs can be super intense itching... If an abscess isn't dealt with right away, it can easily turn into sepsis and spread... so seriously, please take this seriously! 😉

It could be anything, really. But if he’s scratching while he’s on the toilet, it’s a dead giveaway that he’s dealing with constipation. Once those micro-tears start healing, they itch just like any other wound does when it's closing up. So why the constant scratching? It might be hemorrhoids. If he has those, he’s likely irritating them constantly, which then makes the itching even worse once the micro-lesions begin to fade. Honestly, my money is on hemorrhoids...
