If you want a low-budget B-movie, look at something like Terminator.

Compared to Fant 4 and Daredevil, it’s a masterpiece. Honestly, they did a pretty decent job adapting it for the screen too.
As for Superman, yeah, he should've starred in it with Cameron directing.
If I remember correctly, the plot was supposed to take place after Superman's "death," once he had lost most of his powers; he couldn't fly anymore, but he could teleport (I think there was even a connection to Doomsday).
I recall him wearing some kind of white and blue suit with lightning in his eyes.
It was meant to be filmed sometime in the 90s, but Cameron pivoted to Titanic and dropped both Superman and Spider-Man—the latter of which Sam Raimi eventually took over.

Oh, one more thing regarding Ghost Rider: originally, Johnny Depp was lined up for the role, which, let's be real, would have been a much better adaptation. Also, Nicolas Cage was supposed to play Iron Man, though I have no clue what happened to that project in the end.

Since we’re already touching upon other comic book adaptations... my personal take is that Batman Begins remains the single most superior film ever produced from a comic book source.

So, I watched the movie. Honestly? It wasn't anything special. I guess the unit was the best part, though.

Look, the movie is alright. I haven’t read the comics, so I can't tell you if they actually nailed the adaptation or not. It’s a fun ride, but let’s be real—the script is absolute garbage. Can someone please explain the logic behind that final ride with Nicolas Cage and Sam Elliott? They try to build up this heavy atmosphere right before the big showdown, then Elliott just stops dead in his tracks and says, "Well, that was my last transformation, good luck!" and rides off??? Seriously? And the villains are completely pathetic; their whole "tough guy" act is just moronic. They’re so weak that Ghost Rider dispatches them all in two seconds flat, and even at the end, when the guy transforms into some upgraded version, he gets taken out without even breaking a sweat. The only thing keeping this movie watchable is a handful of decent jokes that'll give you a laugh. It’s barely entertaining enough to justify the runtime.

The movie isn't terrible, but... I can't exactly call it good either. It’s sitting at a solid 6/10 for me. Nicolas Cage felt pretty stiff in this one, almost like he just didn't feel like acting... The rest of the cast was alright, I guess. Some scenes were just poorly handled, like when Blackheart kills Mack and just waits around for Johnny Blaze to get back to the apartment. Then Blaze walks in like, "Oh, look at that. My best friend is dead on the floor. Anyway, moving on." Like, seriously, show a little emotion here... The villains don't look half bad, but their powers are honestly pretty weak. And that final showdown is... well, it really isn't. It definitely should have been better. But overall, it's a decent enough flick to watch once or twice if you're bored.

As for Daredevil, that movie was basically ruined by the censors. What actually played in theaters and what you see constantly on TV is just the watered-down version the director was forced to make just to hit that PG-13 rating. There’s a Director's cut out there that's about thirty minutes longer, where they swapped out some theatrical scenes for stuff that got cut originally. That version is genuinely much better—it's night and day, really. Honestly, it's one of the best comic book adaptations out there, maybe even the best, if you'll excuse my reverence for Batman Begins.

I've noticed Nicolas Cage has been cranking through movies lately—like, non-stop. Last year's "Man from Nowhere" was easily one of the biggest cinematic flops I had to sit through. He's got "Next" coming up, then "National Treasure: Book of Secrets." Apparently, there are even two more projects in the works for 2008. I just really hope Nicolas doesn't end up sliding into that tier of actors where you're basically watching someone like Steven Seagal...

So "comic book movies"... I honestly don't get what people expect from them. In my opinion, it’s totally normal for these flicks to be unrealistic, action-heavy, and packed with special effects—that's just the whole package. Anyone who actually loves comics isn't going to tear the movie apart just because it follows that formula.

I've been a massive comic fan since I was a kid, though I'll admit—even in movies like this, I still miss that classic "POW! BAM!" feeling...
That's why I just go in with zero expectations; I'm just looking for a movie that feels like it was ripped straight from the pages of a comic book.

Ghost Rider is fine. Sure, there are better ones out there—there always are—but this one holds its own.

Sure, but at least the action saves the movie (like in Spawn), or it has decent humor (like Hellboy), or a solid villain (like Daredevil's 😬 Bullet-type guy), but this one has absolutely nothing. It’s pathetic. There are only a handful of movies where I’ve actually regretted spending money on a ticket, and this is definitely one of them.

Personally, X2 is my favorite superhero flick, followed by Batman Begins.

I mean, personally, I thought it was a blast—especially those "enemies," if you can even call them that. Especially the one who says, "You can't catch the wind"... but then he goes ahead and catches it anyway with that super cool flaming chain thing—so cool! :P But whatever, lol 🤣 🤣 🤣
And Nicolas Cage looks so terrified. Poor guy. It’s like they totally forced him to play this role. And then there's that line where he says, "You can't live in fear" 😁 🙏 . Seriously, he is absolutely hilarious. And what is even going on with these heroes lately? It immediately made me think of when Spider-Man is just walking down the street dancing... except I bet he got paid way more to look like a total mess here... or maybe not? Honestly, I really hope he did. I could sort of forgive Tobey Maguire for his stuff, but I just can't forgive this guy. 🙏
