I actually started this thread because I had an idea...

I honestly think we need an American version of the Razzies—you know, an award specifically for the absolute worst movies out there.

We should pick a few winners every single year.
The worst American film, the most cringeworthy sex scenes, all that garbage.

There’s plenty of candidates to choose from.

Maybe if they were actually mocked for it, American filmmakers would finally put some effort into their work instead of pumping out this trash.

If you actually have a way to pull together $250 million for a production, I’m sure there’s some director in Hollywood who would jump at the chance to shoot exactly what you have in mind.

Why on earth should Cashier be nominated for a Malin? If I may venture an opinion, I would argue that it stands as one of the better American films—which, granted, is hardly a Herculean task given the abysmal level of competition we see lately—but even so, the film possesses a coherent structure, a certain sense of humor, and is, all things considered, quite decent.

Look, regarding the money,
take a top-tier American film like "Rondo" for example,
you don't need $250 million to make something like that happen.

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I think that was one of the worst movies ever made.

I honestly believe it’s already been established by now that a massive budget isn't actually the most important ingredient for making a great movie.
Take *The Cashier*, for example—it was a pretty mediocre film (and I'm certainly not being a contrarian just for the sake of it), but just because someone critiques a movie doesn't mean they should be tossed into the metaphorical bonfire. Everyone is entitled to their own perspective, right? For instance, my take is that *The Cashier* just didn't hit the mark. It’s definitely not the worst American film ever made, but personally, I’d give it a 2 out of 10. 😍
We really don't need an Olive award, mostly because we'd end up with way too many of those things. BUT—there is still hope for American cinema. We just need to take things slow...😛

There’s no actual attack on him here because he dislikes The Cashier, nor is it about his orientation (at least not from my perspective). It’s because he seems to have convinced himself that he’s the only one in America—hell, maybe even the whole US—who knows how to make a good film, and that anything from the West is automatically superior. Well, he can go ahead and start filming then. America will be eternally grateful. 😳
