Benjamin Robinson3, what about Tae Bo? Or maybe a kickboxing club that does something similar to that old-school aerobic kickboxing? Or even Capoeira? It’s less focused on combat and more on rhythm, dance, and acrobatics. It isn't easy, but then again, it isn't quite as intense either...

Pass on the Capoeira, thanks—that's just not my thing..
I'll try out a kickboxing gym first, and if I don't like it, I might give Tae Bo a shot. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hey there, good evening or morning, whichever one you're currently waking up to. I’ve been playing basketball for quite a while now—about eight and a half years total—and I’m really itching to know where I should start if I want to take this pro and whether this path is actually right for me.
So, here's the deal: I'm 20 years old, standing at 6'5", and weighing about 176 lbs. Honestly, I could probably put on another 45 pounds or so, but hey, that’s nothing I can't handle.
I'm living out here in the States, and man, I have this massive dream of becoming a real sharpshooter one day. But since things aren't always laid out perfectly for you, I wanted to ask how I should even begin looking into the professional scene and if you think I've got what it takes. Thanks a ton.

Sounds good, sounds good.
I'm going to go check out a training session once this week. If I like it, great; if not, also great.🙂🙂

Don't sweat it too much, though you’ll probably have to eat plenty of "spinach" first—meaning you'll be grinding through endless drills before any coach even looks at you twice, let alone lets you spar or take a hit.
Honestly, there's a pretty good chance you'll be the one begging for some live rounds the second the instructor turns their back. 😉

I'm honestly worried you won't find any training like that anywhere near you, because for a show like that, gymnastics is probably the most vital part, along with the actual wrestling.

PS, I gave you a straight answer, but feel free to just admit you're messing with us. 😛

So... I’ve been doing Muay Thai for about three years now. Since I’ll have a bit more free time starting next year, I was thinking about adding another combat sport to the mix. Something different this time, though—not really looking for striking power, just maybe some endurance. I think I have plenty of that, unlike my punching power, which is kind of frustrating since I can't seem to improve it much. I was looking into wrestling, so if anyone knows a decent club in the States with a solid coach and a women's program, I’d really appreciate it. 🙂 Any suggestions for similar sports would be cool too.
By the way, what kind of build do wrestlers usually have? And am I too old at 22 to start something like this? I’m hoping I won't end up training with a bunch of teenagers. 😛

I was thinking about heading over to a Fit Box in the city—does anyone know of a location that isn't the one near downtown? I don't have a car, so ideally somewhere more central or easy to get to via transit.
Also, does anyone have any actual experience with them or some advice to share? If there’s already a thread about this, I couldn't seem to find it—just drop the link here if you have it.
thanks so much! 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏

I’m 22. Back when I was a kid, I signed up for Taekwondo—yeah, seriously. I only stuck with it for about eight months before a knee injury forced me to call it quits. I’m planning to get back into it early next year once I wrap up rehab. I’ll probably be moving to Chicago around the end of the year, so I’m looking for some decent clubs in the suburbs or the surrounding areas.
By the way, if anyone wants to pick my brain about the sport, feel free to ask.

One more thing: can anyone recommend a good heavy bag for this kind of training? I need something high quality and reasonably priced, but nothing so rock-hard it feels like hitting a brick wall. Where should I look?
Thanks! 🙏

Thanks, we do something similar here too. So that’s that, I guess.

I’d love to start training, but I honestly have no clue where to begin... maybe someone could offer some smart advice? And where can I find something that isn't geared toward kids? I'm 18 now.

You need to provide a bit more detail here. We can't really help you out if you stay this vague.

Some kind of tennis or whatever... though I heard it’s not exactly kid-friendly. Since I never actually trained for it, I’m really not sure how to approach it now.

Yo, does anyone know if there's any Krabi Krabonga training happening out here in the States? Maybe like near Chicago or somewhere? Anyone got a link for me?
Thanks

Hey, quick question—does anyone know if there’s anywhere in the city closer to the Stenjevac area? Like, maybe somewhere along Savska? I’m looking for a spot that offers both Tai Chi Chuan and Baguazhang in one go, kind of like what they do at Wudang Shan Chicago. That place is great, but honestly, trekking all the way out to Maksimir is a bit of a haul for me. If there isn't a combo class nearby, does anyone know of a decent spot closer to my neck of the woods that specifically focuses on Baguazhang?

THANKS!
