Look, we don't even have "enrollment" as a thing!
You just grab your gear and show up.
We actually had our first beginner session today—the full group should be set by the end of the month. We're running Mon, Wed, and Fri at 7 PM, then Saturday at 10 AM.

Hey guys, sorry, maybe I’m just totally lost or something haha, but I was really hoping you all could help me out with something 😕. I am super dying to start training kickboxing, but honestly, I have no clue where to even begin asking about it and I can't find anything useful anywhere, so then I stumbled upon this place. Does anyone have any good suggestions—like specific gyms, studios, or just any random info at all? It would mean the world. Thanks so much 🙏. Bye byeeee

I honestly can't remember how many times I've said this on this forum... we should probably be getting paid for advertising by now.

Since you seem to have plenty of information regarding your location, perhaps you could just check the directory at www.profightstore.com or maybe try www.google.com and search for "kickboxing club" within the US. It shouldn't be particularly difficult, I suppose.

So, I was looking into the kickboxing classes over at the "Forma" gym—you know, the one on Hebron Avenue here in Chicago—and I decided to give them a quick ring. I just wanted to see who was actually running the show, specifically the instructor. The answer I got? Just "Bruno."
That’s it. Just Bruno. So I start digging—asking if this guy is actually qualified, if he’s got a competitive background, if he’s ever stepped foot in a ring. Their response? "We don't know."
I mean, come on. I asked them if they could at least give me a last name so I could do a little digging online—standard procedure, right?—to see if the guy actually has a track record.
And they tell me: "We don't even know his last name."
Does anyone out there actually know who this Bruno character is? And more importantly, is the kickboxing program at "Forma" gym actually worth the time, or am I better off looking elsewhere?

No way!

From what I gather, there’s just Tiger at the Reservoir. Honestly, anything is better than nothing.😬
Kiss the Tiger!😘

Hey, does anyone happen to know if that Tiger club offers private training sessions, you know, like one-on-one with a coach? Thanks a ton, you guys are seriously a lifesaver!

Does anyone know if there’s a Judo club over at Sport Park Mladost?

Is anyone actually training there... and if so, what does the schedule look like?

thanks

If I recall correctly, there's an Academic Judo Club based out of that park. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if they have a website or any official info posted online... Google is usually your best bet. 😁 😉

Megan White4, send her the link to that advisor😬

If you're a college student—maybe check out Muay Thai over in Evanston...
If you just want to tone up and lose a little bit of weight around the hips, honestly, a fitness club might be better; most of them have heavy bags and "kickboxing" classes

Actually, what’s the end goal here? It's probably best if we start there.😎

Look, the whole reason this thread exists is so people don't have to dig through the archives.

So, I’ve been looking into this for a while now, and honestly, Aikido just doesn't feel like the right fit for me. It’s missing something, so I’ve been hunting for a Plan B. 😁 Well, I think I found it: Ju-Jitsu (hope I spelled 😁 correctly). I’m currently scouting out some clubs in the Orlando area—ideally somewhere close to downtown if possible. 😁
Hey everyone, does anyone know of any decent clubs around here? 😁
Just to be clear, I’m not talking about BJJ; I’m looking for pure Ju-Jitsu.

Ugh, the gym sounds stupid and boring......
As for toning my body.....well, I already work out enough anyway....🙂....so that isn't really the reason.
And, well.... I'm pretty hyperactive normally.....
I really want to train a martial art....
Something where you use hands and feet equally (not just boxing)🙂 or maybe more kicks.
But...... my goal isn't to go around breaking heads right now... er....
I've actually had two concussions so far, so I definitely don't need a third or fourth.
And I've lost some of my memory...... which doesn't help me much as it is...
Since I don't know anything about martial arts.... I'd love some recommendations
🙂
so I can check them out.....
🙂

As for where to find clubs: http://www.profightstore.com/content.asp?mode=adresar

If you ask me, Thai boxing is still my top pick, though Justin Adams5 might have some better insight to offer.

Greetings to everyone. As you can see, this is my very first post on this forum.

I have a question:
I am 14 years old and I started training Muay Thai just a week ago at the Amika Sports Center in downtown Chicago.

Our coach told us that we should pick up some hand wraps as soon as possible, and eventually some gloves as well. I was wondering if they are the exact same as what you would use for standard boxing, or if there are specific ones designed specifically for Muay Thai?😕

Taekwondo or karate? Honestly, both are fantastic options for women. Though, if I’m being totally honest—and maybe a little biased here—TKD might be the better bet. I’ve definitely noticed more fit, toned girls gravitating toward Taekwondo than over in the karate circles. Just an observation! :-D
