After doing a bit of digging online, I discovered there’s a club located right in my neighborhood near the Ravnica area at the G.M. Matoš Elementary School. I’m coming from over in the Borongaj district, so it's a pretty quick trip. I headed over there today, having seen a flyer posted up—it looked like someone just typed it out in Word using a massive, bold font—stating that training sessions are held on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM in the small gym on the upper floor. Well, I showed up today at 7:05 PM, only to find the entire place locked tight. There wasn't a soul in sight to let me in, and I couldn't get a single door open. Does anyone happen to know how I can actually get inside? 🙂
First off, I am glad you chose Kyokushin; Ninjutsu is excellent too, but this style likely suits you better, much like it does me. To be brief, you really need to arrive at the gym at least 15 minutes early—those are just the rules. Use the same entrance you used before. If you are late, it will be difficult to join the session. Everything is locked up exactly on schedule and strictly monitored because there have been issues with theft in the past. In the event that you do run late, you have to knock very loudly on the door so the janitor, who is always stationed there watching our training, lets you in. He is the only one with a key. So, either show up ten minutes early or knock hard on the door—don't bang on the glass. If you are persistent, he will eventually come to open it for you. Plenty of people come to watch, but they often arrive late and start pounding on the door after everything is already locked, which ends up deafening the janitor.
