...wow, just brilliant... so, should I go ahead and book a charter bus for everyone to San Francisco then? 🙂 😍

...obviously, Pete and I will be the first ones to bow out... 🙂 🙂 🙂

Are you quoting Boris Karloff now? "Why remake a good movie?"😉

If you haven't figured out why they make remakes yet... it's just a way to squeeze money out of people because they've run out of ideas. 😠 Typical Hollywood...

... 🙏 i 👍 forever devoted to the insanely sweet writing of Jurica Pavicic, who managed to charm me yet again with his ridiculously adorable prose... 😍

...honestly, I can’t think of a better way to laugh over my morning coffee than reading some snippet in The New York Times 🙂 which is why everyone should just sprint to the local newsstand for the paper—it might actually brighten up this gloomy morning a bit...

...and then maybe we can all join forces with the Church to protest those Coca-Cola ads 🙂

Look, I’ll comment when
a) they actually start letting other people have an opinion
b) they start paying their damn taxes
c) they follow at least one of their own ten commandments
d) or whatever else you feel like adding to this list

Next time I run into him, I'll be sure to pass along your regards (assuming I can actually get a word in edgewise 😁 )...😁

...Wait, you actually know him????!!!!???? 🙂 🙂

...oh my god, I am so *jealous* 🙂 ...seriously though, the guy is an absolute genius.... 😍

...I was really hoping I’d run into him at the Sundance Film Festival, but no luck so far 😢 😉

...but hey, I'm not giving up hope just yet 👍

...do me a favor and say hi for me...🙂

...actually... 👋 + 🙂 to both of you

How on earth do you know Pavicica? If you actually run into him, give him my best; I read his columns and film reviews pretty regularly. Even if I don't always agree with the guy, he's interesting enough that I don't mind keeping up with his work. 🙂

Well, since this whole thread turned into a big old "well wishes and greetings" session, I might as well jump in too...

Give him my best as well 😁, though his reviews can be hit or miss: 🙏 (Hulk, Clones) and sometimes they just really get under my skin

Oh, and one more thing—if anyone through those critic connections happens to know Tom Davis, tell him to shoot me an email at 3pm. I honestly can't say a single nice thing about that guy...

Thanks 😁 😁 😁

Some random vandals set fire to the scaffolding set up in Oakland for a film shoot, and on their way out, they even trashed some historic monuments. 😵 👎

Just your average idiots and vandals—right up there with those morons in France, the guy who swiped Bruce Lee's nunchucks in Pittsburgh, and those high schoolers supporting Ante Gotovina (while pretending they aren't just marking territory)

We might be a small group, but we can certainly be jerks. 🙂

Exactly... though you're forgetting that this is still the States, where we always seem to be trailing a hundred years behind the rest of the civilized world...

As for those priests and their omens, I think it would be wise if they actually watched the original film before passing judgment, but then again, that might require a level of general culture they clearly don't possess...

It’s just because they think it’s some kind of satanic movie. In reality, it’s actually the exact opposite. 😬

I bet this happened right after a community potluck at the local church... heaven forbid anyone actually tries to have an honest conversation with a priest.🙂

Is there gonna be a point where they're just remaking remakes?

The era of remake-of-a-remake is already here—just look at King Kong...
