Look, it’s basically impossible to say for certain whether that ball actually crossed the line or not. But, based on what I'm seeing and looking at the latest tech from ESPN, it really looks like that shot by Luis Garcia—the one that supposedly sent Liverpool FC straight into the Champions League final—wasn't actually legal:

As terrible as this sounds, I just caught wind from another source that computer simulations actually CAN'T definitively settle these kinds of calls. We might be looking at an even bigger mess on our hands: we’ll never truly know if it was a goal or not.

I doubt Chelsea FC will make a huge scene about it, but this is going to stick with them for a long, long time—kind of like how Americans still remember that goal at Wembley back in '65.😁

You can't even see the ball in the shot, just a blur of legs.

Look, there's clearly controversy here, even if some parts seem obvious:

1) There's no certainty on whether the ball crossed the line. Most media outlets are saying YES, while others say no. That's not a reliable metric.

2) The footage doesn't show for sure if it was a goal or not.

3) Even if it wasn't a goal, 99% of people would agree that Cech should have been sent off, giving Liverpool a penalty. Imagine Chelsea trying to survive 92 minutes down a man.

I don't like defensive play. In fact, I love pure attacking football; I’d play with a back three any day. Teams like Milan, FC Barcelona, Chelsea FC, or Manchester United play offensively—they aim for more goals. Even Real Madrid goes overboard with it sometimes. Liverpool plays exclusively for defense, brute strength, and crowd pressure. They don't have a single creative playmaker, and there's no way to like a squad like that. At least Juventus FC had Zlatan Ibrahimović, Alessandro Del Piero, or Pavel Nedvěd to guarantee a moment of magic, but Liverpool has nothing. That’s why it’s absolute nonsense that while teams like Arsenal FC, Chelsea FC, and Manchester United are better (and more successful over long stretches), Liverpool keeps making finals despite playing terrible matches. If they actually played brilliantly, I wouldn't have anything to complain about, but this is just a disaster.
