Even though I’m super careful about health and keeping our immune systems up, this year’s nasty little cold was just brutal and wouldn't quit. It dragged me under for about 10 days, which sucked, but my heart honestly breaks for my 14-month-old daughter. She’s been suffering so much... even though she's been breastfed for a year and we spent two whole months soaking up the sun and eating nothing but fresh, amazing coastal food and veggies.
Just when it looked like she was finally over it—she suddenly got her energy back, started eating, playing, the whole nine yards—something hit her again just a few days later. This second wave didn't last quite as long, but now I'm stuck in this limbo where I have no clue when I can actually treat her like a healthy kid again... you know, taking her for walks, letting her have a bath, stuff like that?! I'm terrified of another relapse, and honestly, I'm feeling pretty guilty... maybe it was my fault for giving her a bath right after she seemed better?!
The pediatrician put her on some Augmentin and nasal drops, but... I don't even know if it's doing anything!?

Seriously, what can a person even do to stop this from happening?!
To be honest, I don't think it's even an issue of "weak immunity" anymore... because neither she nor I have ever really had that problem before.

I'm just praying she at least builds up some kind of resistance to colds and other bugs now, because in her first year of life, she hadn't been sick even once.

Those damn viruses just keep mutating! And it feels like they're winning.

So, my little boy came down with the flu today—even though he actually got vaccinated. 😢 A friend mentioned that the shot isn't 100% effective, which I suppose makes sense. 😢 I've picked up all sorts of tablets already, but does anyone know which ones have actually worked for you? Please. 😢

How can you be sure it's the flu? Maybe it's just some other minor virus?

Look, a woman on the news mentioned that the flu usually presents with general malaise and a high fever—well, that's exactly what's happening here. It isn't just a common cold.😢

Some viruses come with high fevers, too, but that doesn't mean it's the flu.
It’s totally normal to feel like garbage when you're running a high temperature.
Is he dealing with muscle aches? Or maybe a headache?

Honestly, it doesn't really matter right now—the remedy is the same. Drink plenty of fluids (not hot ones), get some Vitamin C, and take something to bring that fever down.

It’s perfectly normal to feel miserable if you're running a high temperature.
But does he have muscle aches? A headache?

Honestly, it probably doesn't matter right now—the remedy is basically the same... plenty of fluids (not hot), Vitamin C, and something to bring the fever down.

I ended up picking up 😬 some Voltaren, DayQuil, Aspirin, Vitamin C, Sudafed, nasal drops, and zinc... 😬 I mean, I'm no expert, damn it. 😁

Anyway, I managed to get him to take it all. 😬 Just kind of... 😁 I'm starting this thread just so people can chime in on how long it usually takes to pass—I wouldn't know since 🙂 my old man had it once, but he recovered pretty fast.

I had it last year... if I didn't, I wouldn't believe it. It was absolutely awful!
It lasted a whole week, and I literally couldn't get out of bed.
That's exactly why I got vaccinated this year.

A full week?! Damn... 😢 is there actually a difference between older folks and younger people? 😢 Like, maybe seniors face more complications or something? I mean, if you know... I wasn't really paying attention to that lady on TV when she mentioned it the other day—just wasn't interested in the whole drama back then.😬

I haven't been through the worst of it myself, but luckily I didn't deal with any major complications (like pneumonia, which seems to be the big one).
Personally, I figure if you've had the shot, you won't catch the full-blown flu... you might get some minor virus, but it should be way milder than actual influenza.
Either way, you’re going to have to stay in bed, keep hydrated, and just listen to 😉

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.👍

Hmm, this doesn't seem quite as benign as it did this afternoon... 😢

I'm going to head out, shove a handful of pills into his mouth, give him a little shake so he doesn't just 🙂 and sing 🙂 (just kidding)—that might cheer him up 😉.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your stories. 🙂

Look, if it’s actually the flu (meaning influenza, not just a nagging cold), things usually get pretty ugly for a few days—fever, body aches, that general "everything hurts" feeling where you can't even think about getting out of bed... Since it's a viral thing, treatment is mostly just managing the symptoms. You basically just fight the symptoms: knock down a fever (if it hits over 100.4°F) with Aspirin, Advil, or Tylenol. Keep them hydrated with teas; Vitamin C is debatable, but hey, it won't hurt.

Bed rest is non-negotiable. No running errands or walking around outside, because you don't want to risk any complications.

The meds haven't really done anything for him yet... 😢 maybe the next round will work better—Kenneth Hernandez67 actually mentioned a herbal recipe to me, so I might give that a shot. 🙂 Thanks for the advice. 🙂

Hydrogen peroxide in the ear canal? On this page, you can read about one reader's personal experience following an old German remedy... Roger Cox10—don't ever vaccinate your little one again! Vaccines contain mercury and formaldehyde, and there really isn't any reason to poison your child. And then in the end, it turns out they were vaccinated for nothing anyway.

Thanks, but I'm definitely not putting hydrogen peroxide in his ear... 🙂

He isn't a child—he's my 😍 boyfriend. 🙂 Regarding vaccines, I read in the Los Angeles Times/The Washington Post that they're effective for about 80% of people, so I assume it wasn't pointless—it just didn't work for him specifically... so what? 🙂

I'm currently fighting off the flu. I decided against getting the shot myself. My friend went ahead and got vaccinated, though... and she’s stuck in the exact same stage of misery as I am. It seems like it didn't make much of a difference... $9.00 maybe because of the vaccine. It clearly isn't working...

😁 No worries at all! Really, don't even sweat it... it happens to the best of us. Just keeping things moving...

Regarding vaccines, I was reading the Los Angeles Times and The Washington Post, and they’re saying they work for about 80% of people. So, I guess there's some truth to it... even if it didn't really do much for me. Now what? 🙂

The *Los Angeles Times* and *The Washington Post* are constantly churning out stories... but the stuff that actually matters? It's nowhere to be found. Have you seen anything lately about mercury or formaldehyde being in those vaccines? Or even just wondered why they tell you not to get jabbed if you're feeling under the weather in the first place? Getting vaccinated isn't some harmless little thing... Honestly, half the medical advice in those health columns is just nonsense. And look... since the government already spent all that money buying up the supplies, I guess they might as well use them, right? 🙂

I personally never get vaccinated. If I catch the flu, I just deal with it. That’s how being human works.
Actually, even the seniors in our family skip the shots. But one year, my mom decided to go for it. She had never even had the flu before, yet she ended up catching the absolute worst strain imaginable. It hit her with such a high fever that she doesn't even remember when the temperature spiked.
Since then, none of us have even considered the idea.

Regarding the vaccine ingredients—mercury and formaldehyde—I really don't know. I'm just looking for a bit of advice regarding the flu I already caught. 🙂 I'm hardly competent enough to make an impact on bad vaccine ingredients 😢 if they are indeed what you claim they are. 🙂
I believe he got vaccinated with the best intentions—to avoid this actual mess. 🙂

Vitamin C really does the trick. Personally, I take the 500 mg dose from the S&P 500 during the winter, and ever since I started—years ago now—I haven't just avoided the flu, I haven't even sneezed.
My wife has the flu right now, and now my husband caught it from her despite being vaccinated, yet here I am, still not sneezing...😁 👋
