Betty Bennett10 said:Look, did you even see what my (ancient) post was actually referring to?

Yeah... because you're quoting what it was about???

The logical assumption would be that it’s about warnings regarding terrible gynecologists, but since I left my crystal ball at home, I guess the mystery remains unsolved.. 🙄

No, that isn't what I meant at all; I was referring to the posts preceding it, which makes my point perfectly clear within the context of the discussion happening there. If you're going to go out of your way to pull a specific comment just to critique it, it might be a wise move to actually read everything else written on the thread first.

Jesse Wells10 said:I had one incredibly traumatic experience with Dr. Jasenka Grujic-Koracin. A few years back, during my sophomore year of college, my period was late. I went to an old clinic over on K Street, and she was the one who saw me. I will never forget her cold expression or how clinical and detached the exam felt. The only thing she said to me was—YOU ARE PREGNANT. Given that I knew perfectly well our intimacy happened during days that were nowhere near my fertile window, I couldn't believe it. Her very next question was: "Are you going to keep it???" And I just sat there like, NO, immediately. She didn't ask a single follow-up question; she just told me to call the nurse so she could give me instructions. I can't even describe how I felt walking out of that office. She acted as if I had just told her I spent the night at a frat party with ten different guys and wanted to see if I was pregnant. Fortunately, the nurse saw I was in a total state and offered some comfort, telling me that even an abortion is survivable and everything would be fine. I'm grateful to her, regardless of her name. I don't even know how I managed to get home; I walked through the city feeling like I’d been physically assaulted. If anyone else has gone through this, you know the sensation. The next day, I went to Mercy Hospital. They performed a pregnancy test—which, considering she’s supposed to be a top specialist, shouldn't have even been necessary—and lo and behold, it was negative. After that, they ran a series of tests; I started bleeding and ended up being admitted to the hospital. To make a long story short, I wasn't pregnant; my period was late due to a hormonal imbalance. They had to perform a procedure to clear my uterus, and eventually, everything was fine. I'm not saying she can't make mistakes, but she lacked basic HUMANITY. I was only twenty at the time; my entire world collapsed, and thank God I didn't do something reckless. Even today, the memory leaves me feeling disgusted.
Now, I am seeing a gynecologist whom I trust implicitly, and I recommend him to everyone—especially young women who lack experience and might run into various idiots or idiotesses like I did. Dr. Lepusic 👍

Great, just wonderful. I actually had an exam with that woman last week, and she ran a Pap smear. Now that I've called for the results, she tells me they show some kind of "inflammation" (honestly, thanks a lot, lady, "inflammation" could mean anything from a minor irritation to some horrific infection) and that I MUST come back in for a chlamydia test—?? What logic is there in that? Why specifically a chlamydia test? Is it so she can pick up $133 extra stuff? And if it isn't chlamydia, then why another Pap smear for more $133? What the hell, this post actually explains a few things to me now... and damn, private OB-GYNs are way too expensive for a student budget, while the campus health clinic is a nightmare—you wait a month just to be seen, and then another two months for Pap results—three months total. I'll probably be dead by then... 🙄 Not to mention they don't have an ounce of actual expertise; I have a fibroid on my uterus that nobody at the university clinic ever mentioned to me before I went private... and they carry themselves like these high-and-mighty "distinguished doctors," where you practically have to use tweezers to pull every word out of them regarding your own health. They are a perfect example of why the healthcare system here is broken.👎

You actually have every right to request a chlamydia test at the University Health Center. Just ask for a referral; tell them you recently had a Pap smear and there’s some suspicion regarding chlamydia, then ask for the swab. They are obligated to provide you with the referral.

The logical move would be thinking it's about those warnings regarding crappy gynecologists, but since I left my crystal ball at home, I guess the mystery stays unsolved... 🙄

Ugh, just bury me in ashes already 🙄

The quote wasn't even touching on anything remotely like your experience (which was, frankly, gross—glad you shared it with the group, though), it was actually reacting to that post about which doctor is screwing whom.

Look, honestly? I care way more about cutting this kind of nonsense out than debating whether some doc is hitting on her 🙄 apple doesn't fall far from the tree 🙄 attractive little thing.

😁

The real issue with student life is how long you have to wait for results. Honestly, it's not even the doctors at fault anymore—it’s the labs where they send the swabs that are the bottleneck.
I only ever pushed for expertise... though honestly, you never know what kind of "doctor" you're going to run into.
As for Chlamydia... everyone just kept asking me about it and giving me advice that testing for it was my best bet.

Betty Bennett10 said:No, that’s not what I meant at all—it’s clearly about the posts above it, which makes perfect sense given how the conversation was going. If you’re planning to pick apart someone's comment, maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to actually read the whole thread first.

Perhaps if the young lady learned how to quote her sources properly, we wouldn't have this issue—but that’s asking a lot, isn't it? 🙂

If you have the financial means to do so, I cannot recommend Dr. Miljan highly enough—I’ve actually been seeing him for 18 years now. He used to practice at St. Jude’s Hospital, which is where he delivered my daughter; the whole experience was absolutely seamless. His entire medical team was wonderful, too—which is such a relief when you hear all those horror stories from other women about their own experiences... honestly, just thinking about them gives me the chills.
He’s been in private practice for 13 years now. You can find him over at his office on 4th Avenue.
He is truly a lovely gentleman—kind, incredibly professional, and he takes the time to answer every single question with such patience. Plus, he is exceptionally skilled; I have never once felt uncomfortable during an exam.

George Kelly11 said:If you’ve got the budget for it, I can't recommend Ginić enough.👍

I’ll second that recommendation right now. Honestly, if you want someone who actually knows what they're doing, go see the specialist who finally sorted out my throat issues after dealing with the absolute circus that was Dr. Nizetic. It's a practice called "Ginoderma" over in downtown Chicago, located at 91 Vlaska... wait, let me correct myself—it's on Michigan Avenue. Dr. Ljubojevic runs the place alongside his daughter, Dr. Babic. They are both top-tier. If you're a woman who gets a bit anxious and needs a doctor who is gentle, soft-spoken, and actually takes the time to chat, she's your person. He’s a bit more old-school and blunt, but he's solid.

For me, they are the gold standard.🙂

Another reason why I don't trust Dr. Grujic—or anyone else at that clinic. My wife gave me a completely wrong diagnosis (honestly, even for me, folks, it was sketchy!) and then had the nerve to charge me an arm and a leg for it!!!

Thank God I went to get a second opinion, because I am definitely not interested in seeing what happens if I actually let her "treatment" play out!!!

Dr. Dmitrovic used to practice at the Siget health clinic—and honestly, she was absolutely wonderful, truly top-tier... I have nothing but praise for her. She eventually moved over to St. Jude's, and frankly, all the patients there miss her dearly. Now, Dr. 🤔 (I can't even recall her name for the life of me...) has taken over her spot at the main clinic. My grandmother is in a coma right now, and I needed to get some swabs done; however, the doctor here didn't seem to know how to perform them, so I ended up having to bring the supplies in myself... (The nurse just offered this dry little remark: "Oh, Dr. Dmitrovic used to handle that...")
So, I am currently on the hunt for an experienced, seasoned gynecologist...

You should look into Dr. Egidio Čepulić over on Kačićeva Street... He really is quite exceptional! Granted, he runs a private practice and his fees aren't exactly cheap, but honestly, it’s worth every penny... He’s incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and above all—just a genuinely wonderful human being...

I usually head over to see Dr. Sarah Jenkins at her private practice over on Maple Avenue... she’s just so incredibly gentle. She and her sister have this way of working where everything is perfectly synchronized, almost like they’re performing a choreographed dance...

On a different note, I actually ended up with some trauma from my gynecologist because my first experience was with Dr. Miller-Reed... 🙂
I went in for an initial consultation and then a minor procedure, but honestly, it was awful; I was so young and still a virgin, yet she treated me with such utter disdain... I absolutely cannot recommend her!

Austin Lopez4 said:Regarding Dr. Grujic-Koracin—who’s moved to private practice now and has an office over on Star Street—I honestly think it’s a complete disaster.
Not to mention the rest of it: I walk in, and she just starts picking a fight with me... telling me I need to lose weight, that I should be more active... absolute nonsense... just pure nonsense...

She goes on the attack without having a clue what she’s doing... I was so disgusted by her, I can't even put it into words—not to mention the way she looked at me with such sheer contempt while performing the exam... it was like... "you disgusting cow, and here I am, forced to examine you," just constant judgment... and the kicker? I PAID FULL PRICE for all of that, only to be treated like this...

That woman is absolutely repulsive; they ought to revoke her medical license... and don't even get me started on the fact that she prescribed contraceptives before even suggesting blood work or any other basic tests—even though I know I'm overweight and technically a high-risk patient... she's a total amateur!

But I suppose it doesn't matter, since she speaks French and clearly thinks we're all just uneducated peasants while she plays the intellectual... it's appalling... 👎 👎 👎

Good grief, lady, you are completely out of line. What do you even need a gynecologist for? You need a psychiatrist with a gallbladder thicker than your actual anatomy—and let's be honest, those THICK gallbladders 🙄 😉 are quite something...

I've been seeing Dr. Koracin for a while now and I'm actually really happy with her. Unlike some other OB-GYNs, she always takes the time to explain what she’s doing and exactly what the issue is—which helps, since I've definitely had my fair share of problems. Harold Kern5, from what I can tell, chlamydia tests are always run separately. The standard lab report might just show certain changes that hint at it, but it doesn't necessarily confirm it. Correct me if I'm wrong on that.

Ran into my nephew at the grocery store the other day... we actually managed to trade some decent compliments for once. Real wholesome stuff...🙂
It’s honestly pretty sweet... and doesn't cost me a dime.
I think you guys were talking about him in a pretty positive light before...

Correct me if I’m wrong.

Chlamydia shows up on a Pap smear in about 60 to 70 percent of cases within the microbiological section, but a specific swab for chlamydia is its own distinct test.

(which means it is entirely possible to be infected with chlamydia without it showing up on a Pap smear at all.)

So, I had my gynecologist appointment today, and honestly, I have to give him some credit. 🙂

I’ve been seeing Dr. Miller over at the Hilarus Clinic for over a year now, and I’m genuinely happy with the care.
I was just there for an initial checkup. He’s incredibly polite—always takes the time to walk you through everything and really goes out of his way to make sure you feel relaxed.
He’s great. 👍

Alright, I figured I’d weigh in on this thread too.
I’ve only been to the gynecologist once, since I’m still pretty young...
It was at Dr. Miller’s clinic in Chicago... a private practice... but he wasn't actually the one who examined me; it was the gynecologist working alongside him... I think they might be married...
So, she’s performing my Pap smear, and I am in absolute agony. She shoved the speculum in there without any warning or care whatsoever... I honestly felt like screaming, but she couldn't have cared less... it was awful...🙂 I even ended up bleeding a bit afterward...

Thanks for all the recommendations, because I am definitely never stepping foot in that witch's office again...
😘
