I’ve come to realize that the cramps aren't nearly as agonizing when they hit while I'm actually on the move; if they decide to show up in the middle of the night or while I'm just sitting still, it’s absolutely brutal.
And since I've been staying active and keeping things moving regularly, the pain has been almost negligible, which suggests that
consistent physical activity definitely makes a difference.

So, I went to see my OB-GYN for an ultrasound, and everything checked out perfectly fine... though she did offer that classic, weary consolation that the pain would finally subside once I actually give birth. Honestly? As if I could just go out and schedule a delivery just to find some relief from this misery.
When it comes to eating, things get pretty grim during my period; I can barely stomach anything, let alone enjoy a meal. I have to practically force myself to swallow a few bites just so I can manage to take a pill. And don't even get me started on Advil or similar painkillers—they’ve become completely useless because my body has built up such a tolerance from overusing them. The worst part is that the agony doesn't wait for my period to arrive; I start feeling it a full week beforehand, which means I end up spending two entire weeks essentially poisoning my system with various medications, all while dealing with a stomach that’s become incredibly sensitive to the constant chemical onslaught.
I didn't take any pills at all last month because I had already exhausted every option in my arsenal, so I just spent those days languishing in bed, trying my best to simply survive. This month, however, a friend of my sister gave me some prescription medication she had left over. I took three tablets right at the start and just collapsed into sleep, and for the first time since my periods began, I actually had a decent night's rest. It was a miracle, really—the first time I haven't been woken by pain. But now, I only have two tablets left, and it's only the second day of my cycle and I have to head into campus for classes. I have no idea how I'm going to pull this off. I suppose I'll just have to hope for the best, push through this month, and then demand a real consultation with my doctor to find a solution that actually works.

The situation isn't ideal, but having too much advice can actually be the cure for a messy mix...
I would suggest evaluating your needs on a month-by-month basis regarding when to skip a pill before your period. If the pain starts a week early—which happens to me too, though not severe enough to require medication—try reducing your intake. For instance, you could wait until the fifth day instead of the seventh. Additionally, taking half a pill instead of a full one can help with the psychological aspect.

It is clear you are dealing with a significant issue, and I admire that you’ve been proactive in trying different things. However, if you are taking pills for about two weeks every single month, you will run into new problems. You risk stomach ulcers or other complications, and eventually, the medication may stop working altogether.😢

Do not start taking those new pills from your friend without a doctor's supervision...

I am unsure of your fitness level, but regular physical activity would benefit your overall health and help with this specific issue...
Also, masturbation🙂 is a proven method.🙂

Honestly, how am I even supposed to stay physically active when the mere act of crawling to the bathroom feels like a marathon? I’ve tried everything under the sun, truly, but nothing seems to stick. There was a time when I dedicated myself to belly dancing—everyone insists it’s the ultimate cure for pelvic pain, but for me, it did absolutely nothing. And when my period actually decided to show up, I couldn't even make it to my classes; I even had to pull out of two performances entirely. Can you believe that? A whole year of grueling preparation, only to be sidelined like this. It’s just ridiculous. If only being a man were as simple as avoiding these monthly catastrophes, right? Haha... 😂
I just need to find the right medication, and then maybe things will finally fall into place. I’m currently scouring every option for something new that might actually work.

Staying physically active means making use of those "off" days, naturally. 🙂

Do not prioritize medication above all else.

Hey guys, I’m going through it this month too... I've been curled up all day. I just took my second dose of Advil (about 8 hours apart), but honestly, it’s doing zero for the pain. I’m starting to get worried that this isn't just standard period cramps. Could this be a symptom of something like endometriosis, even if my cycle is regular and everything else seems fine—like, my Pap smear was clear and there are no signs of infection? 😢 help....

I am not quite sure how others feel about Neofen, but personally, it doesn't do much for me regarding either type of pain. Instead, I take Ketoral, which is one of the stronger options available at $6.75 pharmacies. It isn't advertised as heavily, so most people aren't even aware it exists. Also, if you can find a moment these days while the sun is actually out, I find that the warmth helps me quite a bit...

Neofen is a zero...

What works best for me is being left alone to watch movies.🙂

Haha, well, does that actually make a difference? 😉

I personally swear by Ketoral; I’ve taken it myself, even when dealing with those stubborn aches. That little blue pill really works wonders 😁 (and yes, I am still writing about Ketoral)

I also have one of those red heat lamps at home, which helps quite a bit as well...

I only have Neofen at home this time... you're right—it takes forever to kick in and it’s pretty weak, but I figured anything is better than nothing, so that's what I grabbed. I usually take Advil, but it makes my head spin so badly it’s actually scary, so I stopped. Sometimes I’ll take Tylenol, but when the pain is this intense, I might just try some Motrin instead. 🙂 thanks for the tip!
yeah, heat definitely helps. I've been taking longer showers and using the warm water to massage my lower abdomen while I'm in there. I'm feeling a lot better today, so I'm actually heading out. Great advice. 🙂

and as for everyone leaving me alone—haha, true... but the pain is still there, so unfortunately that just solves the problem of me potentially strangling someone because I'm so cranky. haha.

Greetings from bed. Ketoral and Japanese anime. Likely a double cheeseburger for dinner. Since we are already in a slump, we should look for positive thoughts. Or just sleep all day and think about nothing at all.

I am officially joining the club.
I find myself in a perpetual state of low-grade discomfort, just enough to keep my nerves frayed, which inevitably leads to a sharper outburst before I reach for some Ketoral; now, I am simply riding a wave of hormonal agitation.
There is absolutely no way to find any peace here.

By the way, ladies—Ketoral and Advil are essentially the exact same thing, just different brands of ketoprofen, where the only real distinction is that Ketoral is a few cents cheaper. Plus, the Ketoral bottle is smaller, making it much more practical for a purse 😁 since I’m starting to sound like a total addict...

I find it most amusing when someone claims a woman is just experiencing PMS. And they say it all month long... 😁 If only people truly understood, haha...

Does anyone else have that sensation like you're about to get your period? My ovaries have been acting up for a few days now. Nothing painful, just an occasional irritation...

Same here... though I suspect it might be due to PCOS?

By the way, my period passed. It wasn't as brutal as last month, but since I had a cold at the same time, I was basically out of commission again...

Ketonal is honestly the only thing that actually works for me. I spent years struggling, and I didn't even discover it until I actually passed out from the pain once. I ended up in the ER and they had to give me a cocktail injection just to stabilize me. Out of the million different pieces of advice I’ve been thrown at—and believe me, I’ve tried them all (the most helpful one was actually from the ER doctor, who told me to take a prenatal vitamin for two months to get more folic acid)—only THE Ketonal does the trick. Whoever invented this stuff deserves a medal.👍
I used to take the Ketonal Forte, but lately, I've noticed the pain isn't nearly as intense, so I just take half a dose and that's plenty😍.

I dealt with constant pain until last year, and honestly, I feel like a whole new person since then. I started taking these Noni supplements—they make a juice too, where you just have one small shot in the morning, but let's be real, the capsules are way easier to swallow. They’re plant-based and mostly meant to give your immune system a solid boost. I just do one three-month course once a year and I’m good to go for the rest of it. The only thing I know for sure is that I can actually see the physical difference in my 😉 et, so if this helps someone else out, that's awesome. 😍

Voltaren Forte helps me out, though I still struggle to sleep. When the pain hits, it’s brutal—absolutely killing me.
In my experience, you need to take a pill the second you feel even a hint of discomfort. Once it really takes hold, there’s no stopping it. Every time it flares up like that, I feel like I'm going to pass out and end up in the ER.

Voltaren Forte feels about as effective as an M&M to me...
I'm in quite a bit of pain right now. Honestly, I’d give anything to just be home, curled up under three blankets with my kids instead of being stuck here working while hunched over like an old lady... 😳

Anyway, I’ve had a bit of a breakthrough. Ibuprofen granules! They’re pretty intense, but they actually get the job done! 👍

For 30 years straight, I was basically calling my local priest instead of a doctor because I thought it was just time to go get help—even though I’d usually just pop a Ketoral Retard and call it a day. BUT THEN, total enlightenment strikes!! I met this chiropractor who explained everything to me; apparently, all that pain was actually coming from terrible communication between my brain and my ovaries. He used his incredibly skilled hands to fix the misalignment in my vertebrae (right between the shoulder blades) in just one single adjustment, and oh my gosh, it's been SIX years now and I don't even feel like I'm due for another visit unless I check my calendar!!!!!!! I am just over the moon!
Girls, listen, it isn't always about chemistry, and it isn't always about relying on synthetic medical fixes.
I truly, from the bottom of my heart, want you all to be brave and take care of yourselves—make the choice to live a life free from the chemicals!!
