I truly believe this will help ease the pain at least. I went through such awful struggles—dizziness, nausea, crying from the discomfort... just everything that could go wrong. But with this tea, things have finally settled enough that I can get to work and function normally.
It’s best to wait a day or two before you start drinking it. My cycle is regular so ordering ahead isn't an issue, though I doubt a cup every single day would cause any trouble.

Mine aren't exactly on a schedule, so I never really know when they’ll actually start. But I get some spotting a few days ahead of time, so I should be good to go once things officially kick off.😁

Hey ladies, just figured I’d chime in here... For about a year now, I’ve been relying on standard Advil—thankfully, a single pill usually does the trick and moves through my system pretty fast. I might take up to two during those first couple of days, though if I'm staying home, I try to just "power through" as much as possible; after all, the fewer pills, the better, right? But when I have plans out and about, I make it a point to take them during those first three days regardless of how bad the cramps feel at that exact moment... My biggest issue, though, isn't even the pain—it's the weakness, that sudden drop in iron levels... which, predictably, manifests as black spots dancing before my eyes. There is absolutely no way I can hop onto a packed subway or a commuter train during the first or second day and expect to stand for more than ten minutes without 🙄, that overwhelming sensation of frailty and darkness hitting me. Fortunately, I haven't actually collapsed yet; I always manage to spot an empty seat, wait a minute or two for it to pass, and then scramble my way home to lie down—it’s become a bit of a routine at this point, I suppose. 😛... Then there's the heat waves that hit a few days beforehand—especially intense during high-stress periods—which leave me feeling weak and nauseous... yet, somehow, I still haven't made it to my gynecologist. 🤣, I'm always rushing somewhere, running against the clock... hmh.
On another note, I have to mention that something truly strange happened this month. Usually, as the years go by, things seem to get progressively worse—I can't survive a single day without at least one pill... but this time? Nothing. 😲, absolutely nothing, just some minor discomfort on the first day. I didn't take a single tablet—just a hint of weakness, but nothing more. I can only attribute that to the massive amount of stress I've been under for the last two weeks; perhaps my body simply braced itself against the pain. 😂... I've been dealing with some respiratory issues lately—lung stuff and breathing trouble—and it honestly just "unsettled" me so much. Between the coughing and all the medication I was taking (which left me feeling quite groggy), I didn't even realize I had started my period, let alone when it would arrive... clearly, there's just too much adrenaline coursing through me... at least that's a silver lining, I guess. We'll see how next month goes... ☕

So, I’ve been having a little fun searching for teas to help with menstrual issues lately. I really want to try something more natural to give my stomach a break. Plus, my boyfriend's mom is dealing with early menopause symptoms—heavy bleeding that lasts for thirty days, low iron, and all that—so I wanted to find something for her too.
Anyway, it says these are great for menstrual cramps, but also for any other bleeding issues, whether they're light or heavy. Apparently, the Alchemilla and Lady's Mantle teas are excellent.
I've never heard of the Lady's Mantle one 🙈 but everyone on other forums raves about it, so I think I'll pick some up. I'll be sure to report back with my thoughts! 😁
I'm going to give the Alchemilla tea to my boyfriend's mom to see if it helps; she refuses to take medication, so natural options are really the only way to go.
Since I usually just grab my teas at CVS or local grocery stores, I haven't seen either of these available there. Does anyone know where I can actually buy them? 😕

Suban has such an incredible selection of teas. You can even find them at local herbal apothecaries...

You can find this at just about any local pharmacy..
If they don't have it sitting on the shelf, just ask them to order it in for you..
It usually runs about $4.00..

Thanks 👍! I actually stopped by an herbal shop yesterday and picked up some loose-leaf tea from the counter; now I’ll have to hunt down that specific blend in my pantry 🙂 and I'm really crossing my fingers that it does the trick...

Hi there. I've joined the conversation too.
For fifteen years, I struggled with painful periods; I even had to get monthly injections just to cope 🙂 but over the last year, things have finally settled down, though I'm not sure why. 🤷 I was drinking angelica tea that my mom prepared for my bleeding, taking vitamins, and trying some homeopathy—now, I honestly can't tell which one actually worked. 😍 Regardless, I still take about six Advil during those first two days. My cycle has shortened from eight days down to six or seven. It’s better than before, but for those first forty-eight hours, I am completely helpless; my period dictates everything I can or cannot do. 🙂 My ovaries have always been fine, and there's no medical reason for this pain, so I'm waiting on hormone test results now. Perhaps there is a connection there. 😛

I also deal with incredibly painful menstrual cramps 🙂—which I find helps when I can just bundle up in warmth or apply a heating pad directly to my abdomen—and my boyfriend always gives my stomach a little massage, which provides some relief, though it’s admittedly only temporary. I try to avoid taking painkillers as much as possible because they invariably trigger heartburn for me. 😁

Roger Rodriguez said:So, I’m pretty sure I actually burned my stomach lining last month. 😢 I couldn't get my hands on any Advil, so after taking some Motrin a month ago, I ended up relying on Tylenol, Aleve, and Midol. I ended up taking all of them at once 😍 because nothing else was touching the pain—and honestly, even that 1000mg effervescent Midol was about as useful as holy water; it did absolutely nothing.
Anyway, it wasn't until I finally took some Aleve after three days that I could actually breathe again. It makes me feel a little groggy and sleepy, but hey, can you really complain about being able to function for those few days of the month?
This was easily one of the strangest cycles I've ever had. For five days leading up, I was just a sobbing mess, blasting Eurovision hits and old patriotic anthems, crying from sunrise to sunset. 🤷 It was clearly some intense PMS, but once the period actually hit, it felt like a million tiny demons were poking at me with fairies inside my abdomen. That's the only way to describe it.
On the months where my PMS isn't as brutal (sometimes I don't even realize it's coming), the cramps are actually manageable. 🤷
Moving forward, I think I'll just stick with Aleve; if you take two tablets right away like the instructions say, it kicks in pretty fast. For now, it's the closest thing I've found to Advil. 👍
Advil is a total lifesaver for period cramps. Seriously. It actually works.
Yeah, and he’s out cold too... typical.

It’s not exactly pain, more like this feeling that someone is pulling everything out of me, and I'm terrified the agony will eventually kill me... Anyway, I’ve tried various meds and only Neofen really touches it, but lately I’ve been drinking angelica tea and it honestly helps. It tastes pretty nasty, but I'll take that over pills any day...

You should give Femisan A drops a shot. I started taking them because they're great for ovarian cysts, and then my period came and I barely even felt it. No PMS, no cramps. I had a little ache on the first morning, but once I took my morning dose, my muscles just relaxed. I actually went out for a walk and everything, whereas normally I’m stuck in bed with painkillers on day one. Right now, you can only find them in major cities (I know they're available in places like NYC or Chicago), and they cost about 90-$33 depending on where you go. If you're only using them for pain, it's enough to start a few days before your cycle starts and keep going until it's over. Personally, I take them every single day, 3-4 times a day, 30 drops per dose. One bottle lasts me about three weeks. You have to be consistent with it, sure, but for now, at least my period isn't painful, and we'll see how things go with the cysts. In Mexico, these drops are literally half the price, so if you know anyone over there, it's better to have them sent to you rather than paying all the taxes here.

I used to have these absolutely brutal periods. It was a nightmare. I’d be bleeding for like 15 days straight, then have a tiny break, and then—boom—back to square one. The pain was so intense I couldn't even roll out of bed; sometimes I’d actually end up feeling nauseous. Then I started taking some Advil, and honestly, it was like a total rebirth. Now, my flow usually lasts about six days, and if I feel that stomach cramp starting to kick in, I just pop a pill and within an hour, it’s like the pain never existed. Everything just goes back to being totally normal.

My stomach is killing me because of my period—what should I do? Any tea recommendations, or maybe some pills??????
#1076 ·
It’ll be whatever you usually take for pain. There aren't any special pills designed just for periods; you have to figure out what works for your own body. Personally, I go with Buscopan and Tylenol. The first one is a antispasmodic to stop the cramps, and the second is just for the pain and if you run a fever.

So here I am—day two of this pain, feeling totally miserable and honestly just really angry😢...I’m doing alright enough to type right now, otherwise I wouldn't be able to... Sitting up actually helps ease the cramps, though being stuck like that all day is exhausting. When I try to lie down, things get way, way worse. It’s happened before where the pain jolts me awake in the middle of the night—then I have to grab some Advil and prop myself up with four pillows, putting them on my knees just so I can rest my head. Once the pain finally lets up after about three hours, then I can finally pass out.😢 My OB-GYN didn't find anything unusual; apparently, I'm perfectly healthy... I'm the first one in my family to deal with this kind of pain.
Look, it isn't "normal" to me, and people can say whatever they want—dying from pain and everything else that comes with it, plus these heavy, endless bleeding sessions... Something has to be causing this imbalance. Maybe it's different for everyone—I'm no expert, obviously—but for me, this kind of bleeding just isn't right...🤷

Saved my life—literally—with this herbal tea. You can grab it at any local CVS or Walgreens if you're looking for it. $3.75You gotta stick with it for a while—consistency is everything. I’ve been sipping this tea since my last period, basically through the whole cycle, and honestly? My cramps were way lighter this morning. I'm betting they'll be totally gone in like two months—which is about how long you're supposed to take it, right? Then you just take a month off and start over.
And now they’re out here pushing those NO SPA FORTE tablets for cramps—as if that’s the magic fix—but honestly? Not a fan of the chemical cocktail life. Who actually wants to swallow a lab experiment just to feel human again?
Used to pop Neofen Forte just to deal with unbearable pain—now? Not even a need for it anymore. Life's funny like that, right?

Same thing happening to me—the pain is a total disaster! It turns out I have microcystic ovaries, which is why my periods are such a nightmare. I didn't want to go on birth control just to deal with the pain, so my doctor actually suggested herbal tea—like Vitex or Evening Primrose...So far, the Vitex is actually helping, thank God!

I think I'll give that Vitex tea a shot then—fingers crossed it does the trick... And honestly, it's so refreshing to hear someone choosing a natural path... pills aren't the only answer. I tried them briefly and while they killed the pain, the side effects were absolutely awful—never again. I'm staying optimistic that some good old-fashioned herbs will get the job done.🙂
