How much did you end up paying for yours?

It was $45 last time, $15but today it's $59...

Ugh, if that's true, they definitely pulled it off...
I'm always paying $15... now I'm seriously curious

Maybe I just happened to stumble upon the most expensive pharmacy in town.😁

I stopped taking birth control pills a month ago. My period should be starting any day now, and the bloating is unbearableβ€”I can't even sit down comfortably. Is this just a side effect of coming off the pill?😒

I've been taking the pill for three months now. Last night, I dealt with a bout of diarrhea. How much could this impact its effectiveness as birth control? How long should I hold off on unprotected sex? πŸ™‚

How long after taking the pill did you end up getting the runs?

I took the tablet at 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM, then experienced diarrhea around midnight.

Just to be safeβ€”either use a condom or don't finish inside.😁

Hmm, maybe it’s just the tablet's security settings being a bit weak... does the manual say anything about that?
If I end up with the runs within 3 or 4 hours of taking my pill, I just count it as a missed dose. Luckily, I've got specific instructions for that depending on which week it is!

Yes, it’s because the tablet essentially just rushes right through your system, and even the tiny amount of hormone that actually manages to get absorbed is simply not enough to make a difference.

It isn't quite clearly defined for me... you're saying that counts as a missed pill? So, what happens then? How long do I need to use a condom after that?

I actually used it for my entire cycle just like you did! 😬
But mine keeps telling me I need to take a missed pill as soon as I remember. That was impossible for me because I don't have any extra pills lying around... 😁 And if I had taken itβ€”assuming it was during week oneβ€”I would’ve had to use a condom for the next seven days. After that second week, the protection would have been back on track and I wouldn't have needed one anymore.
Since I didn't take that missed dose, and since it happened during my first week, I basically treated the whole cycle as totally unreliable.

So, here’s the situation. My girlfriend just started taking Loestrin. She's finished 11 out of the 21 pills in her pack. She began the cycle on the first day of her last period, which was the 30th, and she mentioned today that she's experiencing that brownish discharge. That usually happens right before her period starts, which I assume is pretty standard for most women.

The question we have is this: why is she seeing that brown discharge only about ten days after her last period ended?

Thanks!

I don't take pills; I use the patch instead....
But if you've just started on them, expect some spottingβ€”it’s perfectly normal for your body to be adjusting to the hormones. That was exactly my experience with the patches during the first three months. It doesn't even feel like an actual period; the flow is much thinner and lighter than usual....

What you’re seeing is called breakthrough bleeding, and it’s actually listed right there in the side effects section of the pill instructions. It isn't anything to panic about; it’ll pass in a little while.

And yet she hasn't even bothered to schedule an appointment with her gynecologist in five whole months...
