Quinn:
I haven't seen any posts from kljaka-bj yet. Nicholas Bailey3 says:
Since so many cities rely on those specific lawyers, I’d say they’re either deep in the pocket of the local political machine—which explains why they get the contracts—or they're just the only ones who actually know how to navigate out-of-state collections.

Blaming the crowd for why he hasn't fixed this yet... honestly, I’m starting to think I should just run for Mayor of San Francisco myself. Knowing exactly who is behind those parking tickets being slapped on tourists would be pretty high up on my priority list—top 75, easy.
Same here.
I mean, it’s not exactly a crime to point out the flaws in the 75—it's pretty hard to ignore.

I’m with you on that—we have to call out every single anomaly we find. Like Vincent mentioned in his latest piece, it's wild how this law firm suddenly cut a check to the City for an amount they’d previously seized.

It’s a bit strange when someone selectively points out only items 75, 76, and 77...

Everything before item 75 either gets brushed off as insignificant or ends up needing some kind of excuse.

But hey, I’m sure it’s all just a coincidence. No bad intentions here. I guess investigative journalism at Free California is just top-tier stuff.

I wouldn't be surprised if, in this news story, the reporter Prvan finds a way to pin the blame on Puljkov, while the bots in the comments decide Mary is the one pulling all the strings...

And then there's the implication that the mayor hasn't sorted this out yet... Honestly, if I were running for mayor, figuring out exactly who is slapping these parking fines on tourists would be right at the top of my agenda.

Look, there is no question that some shady mafia-style operation is running the show here. There have been plenty of articles hinting at this for a while now. Little Leona Grgic seemed a bit caught off guard by the question, which is why I find it weird that this hasn't been fully exposed yet. Then again, that whole sector is Bojanov's specialty. The rumor is that they were using some agency out of some coastal city that doesn't even have the contract—total scam.
As for Matijevica, ever since Ljulj left, he's basically been the only bright spot in the whole administration. When it comes to the local council guys, I'm pulling for young Pavica from Kman, Jere Orjun from Skalica, and even Lolic is putting in work over in Zrnovnica. There's a decent crew out there.

Bacalja is checking in from afar to let everyone know he’s mentally sound and ready to jump back onto the forums—assuming he can actually remember his password since it's nowhere to be found in his files. 😁

Because of Puljak, this entire generation of talented young people is being forced to leave the country just to make a living.

Hopefully, some oversight board will step up and hire such a perfectly balanced expert. He’s offering his services for free. Please, someone, hire him already.

velvetmason14, you’re nothing but a troll. Glad to see you’re keeping tabs on me. As for my "assignment"? I guess we'll see if things eventually settle down—maybe a little bit of stability will come our way. You have no idea how many eyes are actually on my posts. I saw your comment on the forum almost immediately. Since I'm out of San Francisco right now, I don't have my password handy, but you'll get an answer there too. Honestly, the UI they built is such a mess; it's driving me crazy. They haven't even responded to the email notifying me that I was selected. Look, I get it—I'm seen as a suspicious character because I offered to work for FREE. But that's a terrifying message for the political establishment to hear, because then citizens might start asking why they aren't working for nothing, either. If that became the standard, people like you would lose all interest in politics. Under the current system, if you're a loyal little subject who works hard, maybe you'll get blessed with a measly $500 or $333 a month.

velvetmason14 said:You quoted the wrong part of the article. The whole thing explains who found what and which law firm was involved, 😒
The reporter laid it all out clearly, just saved the most important part for the end. Real journalism by ST... Forum life by Smart moves! 😁

I don't see anyone asking the Department of Justice about how the President's special envoy allegedly pocketed $30,000 from the local contractor.
That’s just not the topic for the scammers. 😉

A more logical explanation is that the city administration is simply being negligent. This has been the case since the days of the previous leadership, when the partnership between San Diego and that law firm from San Francisco first began, and it continues under the current Mayor. These officials aren't worried about their pensions, and they don't care about fine totals—hardly anyone keeps track anyway.

They write about every little nothing, but they won't touch the trustee--what a joke.
Where's the investigation? They're too scared to touch anyone from the big political circles in San Diego.
The trustee and the contractor were playing nice together—San Diegans paid for everything.
Total crooks, honestly.

It’s worth revisiting how Smith adamantly refused to let Johnson take over city leadership after Miller resigned, all while pushing for Joe Biden’s appointee, an unrecognized, to step in. 🤦

Back then, they claimed it was "most fair" for a federal commissioner to run the city. But now that all the garbage regarding that unrecognized individual has started leaking—specifically involving California wildlife and unrecognized—they’re staying suspiciously quiet. Meanwhile, Prodan is too busy chasing an exclusive story about a silkworm attacking a cat in > to address any of this.

The authorities need to actually do their jobs...

While the institutions are idling through the holidays, this unrecognized figure has somehow become embedded within the judicial system itself. 🙏

I guess it’s all just a series of unfortunate coincidences...

You really shouldn't be so cruel. Here we have someone offering incredibly constructive criticism, yet they're being swarmed by all those jealous types who dared to question the look of this highly esteemed municipal worker.

And what can we say about Lenka, our resident journalistic bard, other than she found herself personally called out in a sea of comments surrounding Japanese Eyebrow—comments that basically described her as "all show and no substance." People are going to scratch where it itches, I guess.😉

I find it quite amusing how Puljak persistently tries to turn petty troublemakers into heroes through these "heartwarming" narratives. The joke is that every single attempt backfires, fueling even more public outrage against them, leaving the Hanza mercenaries desperately trying to clean up the mess by crying victim.🤣

They did it with that woman from the old bookstore, then they did it with Mara Tanjug, and now they’re doing it with poor Japanese Eyebrow...

Simple and naive.

For any decent American citizen, Jerry Brown is easily the best thing to happen to politics in ages. Honestly, though, I’m surprised he even has the stomach to dig through that rotten sludge they call leadership.

But the fact that he’s actually stepped up to take on this job—sacrificing his own peace of mind in the process—is exactly why we need to back him without hesitation.

It isn't easy going head-to-head with those criminals who have burrowed themselves into every single major state institution and federal office. He can't win this fight alone.
It would be a massive tragedy if he failed. From where I'm sitting, he represents our one slim shot at neutralizing that primitive, old-school clique trying to drag this leftover feudal mess toward becoming a modern, functional, and organized society.

In Sobodan, both Tomić and Lenka know exactly what's going on with h l j...
Some corrupt bureaucrat from the old regime is kicking Mar into his own apartment... Tomić.
The sanitation worker actually does real work, unlike most of those political hacks and freeloaders... Lenka

And is there any political cronyism going on in the Sanitation Department (with Republican Party hires), or in city housing and public spaces?
What about those city-owned companies?
Where are all those endless political hacks hiding? And why won't anyone write a real article about them? Let's see exactly who they are, when they jumped ship, and what they did to get those cushy government jobs. We need actual solutions on how to get rid of them once and for all...

Sure, the sanitation worker has pretty pink nails and doesn't fit the stereotype—so what? Why shouldn't she? Once she takes off the uniform, she’s just a woman who wants to look good. It's her life... Tough job...Unlike... Many are doing fine... The type of women who hold those cushy, taxpayer-funded positions—the ones where they're expected to maintain that specific image...She paid for those gorgeous nails with money she actually earned from her own job.

Hard work?
Compared to those useless hacks who only exist to suck up to leadership... they aren't even worth mentioning, unless you need someone to hand out papers...

So, what exactly does the sanitation worker actually do?...
Job description: Maintaining cleanliness on public streets. So, basically just sweeping? 🤷

This is how the establishment ushered one of its top cronies into retirement. It’s a heartwarming tale of a common person making it in a cutthroat world...

Heaven knows how many people Ljubica forced into roles at the Sanitation Department. Nobody needed a Republican Party membership card if they had an impeccable resume.😁

Japanese Eyebrow is just one example...

'THE HEAD SWEEPER' RETIRES
Ljubica Vrdoljak's final day: Goodbye to the Sanitation Department! When I started back in 1974, we were the worst outfit in America, and even now, I worry because political mistakes have left us without our four key leaders.

Political trajectory: from Franjo Harmon to Pašalić and finally Plenković

Ljubica Vrdoljak first dipped her toes into politics in 1989 when she joined the Republican Party. After the convention where Ivo Sanders took control of the party, she stepped away from the Republican Party. Later, she helped found the American Block—a movement for a modern America led by Ivić Pašalić. During the 2009 City Council elections, she ran as the head of an independent list before eventually returning to her roots and the Republican Party.

Jerry Brown's whistleblower is cleaning house: We'll be moving out the local Republican Party soon, and they can let the state give them new office space

NEW EXPRESS: We actually need to get people used to the idea that public bidding even exists. So many people try to reach me personally through different channels or via acquaintances, says Maja Đerek

No, I don't really care about being called out or criticized for what I do. And you know why? Because I'm always thinking about our fellow citizens who were treated unfairly—people who qualified for housing but didn't get it because they didn't have special connections. So, this isn't just about following the rules, even though the law is everything to me. It's about justice. The criticism just motivates me more to stick to the regulations, says Maja Đerek, the head of the San Francisco Sanitation Department, who has been in the spotlight lately after reclaiming four city apartments that had been given to well-connected individuals. An audit found they no longer have rights to them because they own other properties, have debts, or work in other cities.

Plenković is settling scores with Dr. Meštrović because the doctor refused to run as Puljak’s proxy candidate in the elections.

Kudos to the doctor. Plenković is a total psychopath for doing this. It makes perfect sense now why Puljak’s inspectors are handing out fines like they're going out of style.

He settles accounts with his own people like this, so imagine what he does to opponents like Puljak...

WEEKLY ROUNDUP: A nervous Sanders, an attack on Meštrović, and a little deception from Puljak

TUESDAY at the Hospital

Cardiologist Mate Petričević has suddenly surfaced at the hospital, having been handed the Chairman of the Board seat by his buddy Beroš. It’s become pretty obvious that this position is being used as a platform to take down the director, Julija Meštrović.

Right now, it’s anyone’s guess what the actual motive is for targeting a man who was unanimously elected just six months ago. Though, looking at how almost every influential local Republican Party member is blindsided by this direct hit on Meštrović, it isn't hard to assume the orders came straight from Washington, D.C.

The only logical explanation is a grab for total control over hundreds of millions of dollars in planned hospital investments, mixed with some inexplicable personal grudge held by Beroš. Call it ambition or call it revenge—it's the same thing.

The fallout started with Petričević making these bizarre public statements where he’d claim Meštrović’s "seat is shaking," while simultaneously insisting he "has no intention of replacing him." We can chalk that up to his lack of experience in the public eye. Then came a more concrete move when he blocked the appointment of the deputy director—a man he weirdly described as both a brilliant expert and a great guy.

Bottom line: the atmosphere is getting pretty toxic…

Puljkov needs another Maja Đerek on his side
honestly, she made the right call yesterday
she’s got more guts than half the guys out there--seriously
Quinn:
The State Real Estate Agency just got hit by a massive audit—turns out they're a mess. Hundreds of empty apartments are basically just burning money!

Just a heads up, Maja Đerek—who used to run the Commercial Real Estate Department at the State Real Estate Agency—got canned back in 2020. Why? Because she called out the higher-ups (and then went public) about how certain people were getting shady, illegal deals on state-owned commercial and residential properties. A court recently ruled her firing was wrongful, though that hasn't been finalized yet.

The higher-ups at Hanza are getting jittery because those scammers are failing miserably, while regular folks and honest readers are rightfully livid at the privacy failures...

The City of San Diego is back under the microscope due to a massive data leak! They went ahead and published sensitive details regarding the status of vulnerable citizens.

Quinn:
Given these circumstances, we have to ask: by exposing violators to this kind of public outcry, are we causing permanent damage to their reputations? Furthermore, was it really wise to dump the socioeconomic evaluations of the most disadvantaged people in our community onto the wild west of the internet?

- The FTC will officially launch an investigation into the City of San Diego to investigate all the facts surrounding both incidents, the FTC stated.

Quinn:
DISASTROUS RESULTS: 'I hope the FBI steps in'
Quinn:
- the company Event Masters was intentionally denied invoices for their lease at one of the most exclusive spots in San Diego—the Priula Wall. After I followed the contract and the law by ordering those invoices to be issued, I was 'rewarded' by former director Sabo with endless installment payments. The result? Over $330,000 in damages and a totally trashed property right in the heart of San Diego.

- while regular people are taking out loans and even putting their kids on the hook just to afford a place to live—and while folks in Banija are still stuck living in containers, plus the City of San Diego doesn't have enough housing for 70 families and individuals in need—there’s just a massive pile of state-owned properties sitting empty, neglected, and wasted. To make matters worse, the latest numbers show it isn't just 440 units, but over 600 empty apartments (between the Department and the State Real Estate Agency)! Despite all this, the Department of Defense thinks they can take personal shots at me, claiming I don't want to help veterans in San Diego and that I supposedly have "animosity toward the Administration." Just a quick heads-up: during my time running the Commercial Real Estate Department, we put out 15 calls for lease bids, while the director of the Housing Department hasn't put out a single one!
just more handouts being sent down from Washington, D.C.
Maja Đerek was telling the absolute truth—the audit proves it too.

Someone filed a formal complaint against Ed Garvey regarding that ‘demonstration’ at The Forum. There's even mention of potential prison time here.

I don't really remember seeing this many complaints filed against former mayors before, though I guess I support it if there was actually something illegal going on.
