Kate Jackson2 said:Đerek is a smart woman—she knows how to hold her own without Puljka breathing down her neck, and honestly, she’s handling things pretty well so far.

It would be a massive mistake if Puljka jumped in right now just to undermine her authority... that would only make it look like Đerek
can't cut it on her own, which we already know isn't true.

These kinds of situations aren't going to last forever, and once the dust settles, the media will move on anyway.

In my opinion, Puljka should wait until then to step up and list everything Đerek has actually accomplished
just to get her wins back into the news cycle.

Thinking that one person—who isn't even an elected official yet—can single-handedly dismantle the city's mafia-style octopus is a joke and pure political amateurism. That's exactly what the corrupt elements are hoping for, and Eric Adams' weeks of silence is playing right into their hands. As Mayor, after all the threats and insults directed at John McCain, he needs to use his office to openly back this fight against criminal and political corruption. This silence is actively hurting the cause.

What John McCain is doing will always get media attention because it involves real estate, and we all know how much Americans love stories about property. Plus, as the story shows, there's plenty of crime involved. By that logic, Eric Adams might decide to show up sometime in 2025.🤣

The points you made sound like nothing more than excuses for Eric Adams to sit on the sidelines, stay safe, and then swoop in to take all the credit at the end. If that's the case, it's cowardice on his part as Mayor and the city's leader, regardless of how he wants to be perceived. It would only confirm the suspicions of those who think he's a fraud...

So, Eric Adams, step up.

man, both Eric Adams and Bojan should say something
Maja's doing a huge job and it's not right that they aren't backing her up
Bojan used to be my #1, but now Maja's the real deal
gotta admit it

Boraska got invited to the SD anniversary party... I wonder if they sent invites to Puljko, Ivošević, and Đerek too.

The Bridge party has already played ball with the Republicans twice—once under Newt Gingrich and again with Joe Biden.
There's that old saying: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

I don't even know what there is left to say... I mean, what kind of people would actually trust them a third time?
Only a complete idiot keeps doing the exact same thing and expects a different result.

Though, I'll admit I'm a bit of a romantic—Markotić actually seems like a decent guy to me.

Roy is talking about Jerry Sanders. If Jerry Sanders joins forces with the Republican Party, he'll just call him a fraud.

Jerry Sanders keeps insisting that winning an election and kicking the Republican Party out of power isn't enough. He claims he’s offering actual project execution, a real fight against corruption, merit-based hiring, and cleaning up the corrupt establishment...

If he doesn't deliver on those promises or back them up with action, then he's just a fraud—someone whose words don't match his deeds.

Assuming someone is a scammer just because they won't team up with the Republican Party is a dangerous oversimplification. That kind of thinking can easily backfire, essentially giving Sanders wings to just fly around doing nothing but PR stunts. We've seen plenty of that already...

Over time, some red flags have popped up regarding Sanders, such as the slow progress on major projects, Ivošević's amateurism, overturned court rulings, poor external communication, and the failure to purge the corrupt staff from the territory—assuming what Dalija said is true. What I find particularly wild right now is how he avoids providing political protection for Đerek when she's facing threats from criminals and the establishment, hiding behind fairy tales about how she can handle everything alone because she's so smart...

All of this needs to improve, but you can't run things with nothing but PR fluff. Based on this interview, it looks like this duo calls most of the shots. One is a nurse by trade, and I've never even heard of the other one 🤦

Poor Getan folks... Every single night feels like a total crapshoot of what might happen next, though I suspect the younger crowd might actually benefit from the chaos.

There’s no quick fix for this mess... I really hope some of the revenue from those fines gets reinvested back into Getan.

man, this rag is barely even a news outlet anymore—who's even footing the bill? the whole damn government probably is
yeah, they pay them whatever they want, and these so-called "journalists" never mention how much cash is changing hands or what their circulation actually looks like

We’re only 80 years old: we celebrated a birthday feeling stronger than ever, always our own, always vital. As long as California exists, so will The New York Times

The editor-in-chief pointed out the fact that "The New York Times" stopped being "just" a paper or "just" a website a long time ago—it was (and will be) a way of life. She also noted that the newsroom is already full of young people who weren't even born during the last century
Rough times
—Times aren't exactly fairy tales for newspapers or journalism these days; we won't get into people calling reporters worms or hacks; we won't dwell on the challenges the modern era throws at journalism. Besides, were there ever really "fairy tale" times for serious journalism?—asked Lapenda Lemo.

"Real journalism," my foot"

Alright, alright 🤣 is this some kind of new comedy column?

Seriously though, what kind of lifestyle is being lived over at the local rag? Acting as the PR wing for a criminal enterprise and the Big Boss, then dragging people through the mud just because they follow the actual law instead of taking a bribe under the table?

The anniversary celebration hosted by the local paper alongside Republican Party insiders was an absolute disgrace to journalism. Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite this grotesque in my life.

I spoke with some colleagues over at the paper. They told me that celebrating their 80th year of tradition felt less like a milestone and more like a total surrender.

The owners organized this anniversary spectacle—complete with champagne and white feathers—where the guest of honor was essentially the entire political leadership of the Republican Party, including the President and eleven cabinet members. I don't think any media outlet in America has ever been quite this blatant, or even attempted to maintain a shred of professional distance, in showing exactly who pulls their strings and who they answer to.

For eighty years, this paper has been a pillar of the Mediterranean region and one of the largest local publications in the country. Yet, for their own big day, they handed the entire stage over to the Republican Party leadership. If you look at the photo gallery, the central figures aren't journalists; they're ministers and the President. They were surrounded by people who, ideally, should be maintaining both mental and physical distance from any administration, anywhere.

They were practically serving him on a silver platter. The President announced his new policy measures during his speech as if he were presiding over a party caucus. He even had the nerve to lecture them on journalism and objectivity. Meanwhile, the eager reporters were busy praising how much he "enjoyed his stay in San Francisco," noting how "cheerful and smiling" he was and how warmly "supporters greeted him." It’s truly something uniquely unsightly; I haven't seen anything this distorted in the media industry since the founding of this country.

It’s painful for anyone to watch their profession dragged through the mud like this. And a particularly embarrassing detail of this whole farce is that not a single high-ranking official from the San Francisco city government attended the reception—not that this paper could stand to see them drawn, let alone have one of them give a congratulatory speech. The reporters there mentioned that invitations were sent to the local officials in a tone that basically suggested, "please don't bother coming." And apparently, they got the message.

It was probably wise they stayed away, given that the Republican Party doesn't run San Francisco; the Mayor holds that office. They wouldn't want to ruin the perfect little political harmony between the President and the paper's leadership. It allows the Administration and the ruling party to perform flawlessly on "hostile" territory, backed by the enthusiastic support and advocacy of the most influential regional news outlet.

Happy Birthday, paper!

I believe this article warrants being cited in this discussion. Every time the local press publishes something regarding the "hostile" administration in San Francisco:

"A particularly shameful aspect of this embarrassment is the fact that not a single prominent figure from the San Francisco municipal government attended the gala reception—not even for protocol reasons. This is a city administration that the local newspaper refuses to acknowledge exists, let alone expects anyone to deliver congratulatory remarks on their behalf. Journalists on the ground tell me that invitations were sent to them as well, but they were phrased in a tone that clearly signaled: 'you are better off not showing up.' And they understood the message perfectly."

The local paper was founded during an era when the Mediterranean needed liberation from fascism, yet it collapsed once the Republican Party took control of the region.

Bojana's totally lost her marbles lately
needs to stop posting this nonsense online
I don't even like the Republican Party—but what does that have to do with anything here?
just let my mom handle it, she knows what she's doing

IVANSON ON REMOVING THE STATUE: 'When I say we'll be feeling the fallout from the previous administration for years, I'm talking about situations exactly like this one.'

It wasn't even the Republican Party; if I recall correctly, it was Baldasar who signed off on that pathetic contract.

So what? A whole bunch of them were signing garbage back then. The current folks in the Administration could have done things the right way if they actually wanted to. They didn't.

So, I was catching some news broadcast on YouTube this past Saturday, and during a live segment with someone from Free California, they were acting all shocked that nobody from the San Francisco city government showed up. Honestly, I have to wonder why. 🤣

It was actually pretty refreshing to see what actual free media looks like when they report objectively for once.

Maybe we should throw in a quote from that famous study again:
"In any class-based society, the ruling class controls the flow of information. Through mass media, they curate exactly what the public hears to suit their own agenda—making it easier to manipulate or exploit people—because an informed public is much harder to control."

Unprecedented outrage from San Francisco residents following the destruction of a landmark tree in Manhattan: ‘They crushed it with a bulldozer; this is the absolute bottom.’ Ivošević has also weighed in.

NIGHTLY ACTION: 'Eric, why Manhattan? Why the Small Mall?'

The Republican Party slams the San Francisco administration over the removal of the Pelegrinka: 'They’re just trying to wash their hands of this execution.'

Yesterday, in a move that has left all our fellow citizens devastated, the most beautiful Pelegrinka in the city was struck down and liquidated. This was an act of ecocide, occurring despite the fact that its diameter grants it legal protection under both environmental laws and the City Planning Department guidelines.
What is truly shocking is the sheer ease with which the Deputy Mayor attempted to distance himself from this execution, essentially trying to reduce his role to that of some random Facebook commenter or bystander. The logic is fairly simple—regardless of whatever excuses you might offer, the liquidation of a protected tree happened during a term where you hold executive power, and with power comes responsibility.
It is particularly jarring coming from someone who built a political career fighting against exactly these kinds of incidents while working as an activist. I suppose it seems the comfort of an office chair and an official government car has managed to erode his empathy.

Poor communication strategies are going to be the undoing of Puljko and Ivošević; the public is already pinning the blame on them. Even if the previous administration was actually at fault, people have short memories. I’m already seeing commenters saying they no longer feel represented by their voices.

Puljak of San Francisco is turning the city into a construction zone, and the local government is taking on 160 million dollars in debt

A tech park, public parking garages, kindergartens, schools, a Youth Center, installing solar panels on government buildings, a sports complex, and pedestrian walkways—these are just a handful of the fifty or so projects currently on the table.

It seems like Eric is following that old "work hard, suffer more" mantra

Some of these comments might be the voice of the people, but since the local opposition loves using volunteers and paid actors, I’d take it with a massive grain of salt.
