Is Ukraine under the US nuclear umbrella? On what basis?

Stop bringing up Putin and nuclear retaliation every five minutes without any actual context.

In an asymmetric nuclear standoff, Putin holds the upper hand. That is why US aid to Ukraine is being dripped out in increments rather than being unconditional. It is also likely why you see so much involvement from the Englishman; Americans clearly prefer to stay hands-off when possible.

Interesting situation.

It’s not "for no reason" when his finger is practically hovering over the button.

Ever since the red line was just sending weapons to Ukraine, then tanks to Ukraine, then jets to Ukraine, then missile systems to Ukraine, and now it's ATACMS. Wow, we're just so terrifying.

Can we please stop acting shocked every time nuclear threats come up? Like, what's he actually going to do? If they even made it to Rostov, he’d probably claim they retreated out of the goodness of his heart.

A little bit of dust settled on us
I was just a kid back then, but I remember that day.
Well, more like a few days after the disaster at Chernobyl.
The communists were trying to cover it up...

He’s not being as extra as Zakharov or that idiot over at NASA. If you honestly think someone can just drop atomic bombs on Europe and nothing happens—besides some weird fantasy where the EU joins up with Russia—you're forgetting that France and the UK have nukes too. Not to mention China and India definitely wouldn't be happy about that.

Like, let me say it again: using any kind of WMD, not just nukes, would basically be proof that he *lost* the special operation and had zero choice left but to go the WMD route. By his own logic, it would be fratricide because he doesn't even admit Ukrainians exist, claiming they're all just Russians. People make jokes about Biden being a diaper baby, but this guy? He’d just be a total lunatic.

It would also be the ultimate sign that negotiations were *never* actually on the table, because the guy is apparently willing to walk straight into a holocaust just to get his way.

Don't be so modest
At least to Irkutsk, maybe.

And even there, he still wouldn't get anything done.

You really think those puppets have their own thoughts!?

It’s like you said: Putin hears Zaharov's "opinion" on TV and thinks to himself, "Well, that was unexpected!" 🤣

The way people talk here isn't really a debate where anyone looks at the actual state of affairs on this planet.
It’s more like everyone's just shouting nonsense and trying to one-up each other for no reason.

Since you claim to be one of those people who actually sees things clearly, why don't you explain why Russia hasn't used tactical nukes yet? Apparently, they love losing massive amounts of gear and men just to gain a single mile.

Look, man, to them—especially when it comes to equipment—everything is basically disposable.

And yeah, okay, maybe I'm not being "realistic"... but I guess I don't really get where you're coming from with that one?

So then, why hasn't Putin dropped a tactical nuke yet? Why might it happen in a week or a month instead of today? Where exactly is this "red line" supposed to be?

Maybe send a telegram to the White House and just ask them then
How should I know where the red line is?
For a nation that was losing maybe 20,000 people every single day during WW2, I'm guessing their threshold is pretty damn high

Not even slightly, believe me if you want to

How morbid you all are tonight... 🕺
Go outside and look at the supermoon instead of just tossing nukes around here for fun 😢
