I’ve been sitting here wondering, quite intensely actually, why the folks over at the Spirituality forums—and let's be honest, we aren't some isolated little ghetto, are we?—decided to settle on those specific handles. It makes you think. Like, what's the logic behind someone choosing Nemruth Dag, or why on earth would anyone pick something as absurd as "that scabby dog" or whatever else. It’s an odd way to present oneself to the world, isn't it?

I’ve always had a soft spot for reading graphic novels. 😳

I live abroad, and my birth name—the one my mother gave me—is quite a mouthful for Americans to pronounce.
As for Emilia, that was simply my way of selecting a more suitable new identity for myself. 😍

😁 I have a question regarding the technicalities here. Does anyone know how one might go about changing their forum username to either Lilith or nestati 🙂? If someone could provide instructions, I would be most grateful. I find myself quite fond of reading Dylan Dog and Marty Misterij...

Not a chance. You can ask for a minor tweak if you messed up a typo, but that’s about the extent of it. Otherwise, your best bet is to just respawn under a new identity, which is exactly what I ended up doing.

Perhaps I should just disappear

Mystery
—man, I just have such a massive soft spot for mysteries. I’m obsessed with this specific version
of The Phantom of the Opera.

Ah... George Wood2 is simply an individual, haha. As for Hell, that represents the integration of masculine and feminine principles. And disappearance occurs when both the male and female aspects vanish entirely.

Maybe it sounds super trivial, but you can actually tell a ton about someone just by looking at their avatar or username. Everything counts—the handle, the profile pic, the signature, where they say they’re from, all of it.
Even if they just picked something on the fly because they couldn't be bothered... you know, just some random, "whatever" choice... it still gives off this vibe of being totally uninterested.

Especially when that person starts really vibing with their profile over time... like they start "customizing" it or refreshing it, tweaking the visuals or the bio to make it feel more *them*.

That whole process of "finessing" an avatar becomes this subtle way of communicating. It’s like sending out signals to everyone else on the forum, expressing how they’re feeling internally or how they’ve changed lately.

It's almost like a call to action or a little challenge, right? Like saying, "Hey, I'm right here, come figure me out."

That is far from a trivial observation. These are mind games.
Personally, I don't find it appealing. To me, it feels like an attachment—an attempt to anchor oneself to something or someone, much like clinging to a lifeless rock that lacks even the slightest swirl of fresh wind.

And honestly, your whole vibe and opinion on this is staring me right in the face because of that profile picture you picked out.
If you hadn't told me, I swear, I would have figured out exactly what you were thinking just from that one tiny little detail...

But then again, couldn't it simply be a fleeting emanation? A passing aspect of the spirit, the soul, Aina, or perhaps nothing at all? It could be madness... or wisdom. A mere glance, or even just simple spontaneity. The most basic thing imaginable. Poverty of the spirit.

Anyway, I’m talking about that momentary "state of mind" people project or broadcast to everyone else...
Like, as soon as there's some internal shift—something that actually matters to the person behind the screen (their hobbies, how they're feeling, whatever)—they start tweaking their profile elements to match. You know, changing the avatar, adding subtle little text cues or mottos, stuff like that...
I’m mostly looking at those folks who are constantly "polishing" their avatars.
The deeper they feel that connection to their image, the more they "customize" or refresh it...

Just something I've noticed.

It could also be that if someone is constantly changing or refining their image, it isn't necessarily tied to their sense of self or how they view themselves; perhaps they are still searching. Searching for where? For what? Or perhaps there simply isn't a need to adopt a specific stance, because a stance is merely a stance.

Honestly, I can't stop thinking about how wild it would be if we could see the AI-generated profiles of the actual people behind all these random usernames. We’re talking full-on digital dossiers built from everything an algorithm scrapes while we're scrolling through life—stuff like what we’re obsessed with, the tabs we keep open, when we’re active, our GPS data, even who we're hanging out with in the real world. It’s basically constant surveillance by
. It’d probably be pretty obvious too. People with similar psychological profiles would likely end up picking similar handles... not identical ones, obviously, but you'd definitely see the pattern in the vibe they're going for.

Hmm... honestly, as soon as someone starts latching onto something—trying to identify with it—and then they start "fixing" that image, they're almost certainly doing it on a personal level... like a projection of their own personality, if you want to get technical about it.

Of course, one must consider the instruments through which "that intelligence" executes such a task. The body and the mind, presumably. But what, then, is the actual person?

That whole concept of being... it's just way over my head...

But honestly, who cares? All this stuff about "avatars" and whatever else is basically just deep-diving into Ego and self-awareness anyway.

Whatever, man.

Wouldn't it be more effective to just click through to someone's profile and maybe scan their last fifty posts, rather than trying to form an opinion based on personal associations with an Avatar, a location, or a signature?
