Chris Grant3 said:I finally realized what the real issue is—it’s the sheer absurdity of these COVID-19 mandates that’s driving everyone crazy. That’s why people are pushing back. I mean, seriously, what is the actual point of wearing a mask in these specific spots? It makes zero sense. You’re required to wear one just walking down a hallway, but the second you step into a classroom, walk out in front of the school, or enter the gym, it’s suddenly fine to take it off. It’s the same deal at a cafe; you don't need it while sitting at your table, but if you're just three feet away from the restroom, you have to pull it back up. What is the logic there? Once I looked at it through that lens, I totally understood where they were coming from with their frustration.

Bingo. It's either pure absurdity or total inconsistency if the rule actually makes sense, coupled with the sheer incompetence of adults in positions of power.
Making people mask up just to walk through a corridor is nothing more than mindless conditioning.

David Palmer5 said:The reality is, not every parent has the capacity to handle homeschooling.
We've already seen cases where parents try to act as primary educators for kids who never even stepped foot in preschool. 🙄

Why? Because our entire education system has been absolute garbage for the last seventy years. And don't even get me started on anything prior to that, because back then, you were lucky if you even got a basic primary school education.

I honestly don't even know where to begin when it comes to describing the absolute embarrassment that their reform efforts have been over the last fifteen years. How can a system fail so consistently for such an extended period without anyone stepping up to fix it? It’s truly staggering to look back at the timeline and realize just how much ground has been lost.

I'm genuinely curious to see what the rest of his classmates are saying about all this.

And honestly, what on earth are his parents doing that allows them to sit outside with him all morning?

Entrepreneurs.😁
Morons.
At first, I really felt for the kid, but now that I'm reading how he's actually fueling these parental outbursts himself, I don't think I feel particularly bad for him anymore.
I mostly just feel for the other kids at school who have to deal with the daily nonsense coming from the Gaćina family.
(And I'm actually quite glad they didn't just use initials; it's better when people know exactly who we're talking about.😍)

My little one puts on their mask when they head into the classroom. But I've already caught them a few times just forgetting to wear it once they're heading home 🤣 And nobody says a word, so no big deal, I guess.

The Gaćina family is a brave example of what it means to actually take a stand and refuse to bow down to those moronic mask-wearers.

We haven't heard anything about what the other kids actually think, except for some questionable, pathetic whining coming from an Apple-affiliated local crony like Š. utješno.

It’s somewhat comforting that even that local hack doesn't use the street slang you all seem to love using to describe the parents in this story...

The Gaćina family is really just a textbook case of that typical American greed.☕

By standing their ground, the Gaćina family is bravely exposing just how many mediocre people have been handed decision-making power during this whole pandemic crisis.
The name Gaćina will forever be etched into the history of the truth surrounding the pandemic in America.

Appalachia has once again proven that it produces the bravest sons of this beautiful nation, men who selflessly lead their people into battle against hateful occupiers and oppressors.
Following in the footsteps of figures like Gubec, Josip Broz Marshall, and Franjo Harmon, we now have Gaćina.

I suppose I’m sorry I even have to point this out to you, but honestly, if you actually listen to that shepherd's interview, you can tell just from his emphasis and his accent that the guy has absolutely no connection to Appalachia; he just happens to be living in a spa town in Pennsylvania.

Why don't they just stand outside the local CVS and announce they aren't wearing masks inside?
Why not picket the community clinic and demand doctors see patients without them?
Why not head to a diner and argue that eating without a mask makes no sense, yet somehow it's fine when you're using the restroom?

It’s always easiest to hide behind a kid.

It’s all well and good, but Mr. Garrison is—well, he’s a Floridian.
So, I am hardly surprised that Garrison lacks much local support there; you see, Hillbillies rarely stir up trouble, but when they finally do decide to rise, it is undoubtedly for a profound reason—not merely over some triviality like a bit of cloth used as a gag for a few minutes a day, but because it is better to retreat than to face the consequences, for those who survive will certainly have plenty to say. 🙂

This harassment of their children both before and within the school by a group of fanatic protesters clearly does not sit well with the majority in Appalachia, does it? Perhaps Mr. Garrison might want to start considering what sort of life awaits him and his family in that region once this entire ordeal concludes. My heart truly goes out to the little one; his father has gone to great lengths to ensure the boy is branded for the rest of his life... 🕺

The guy actually got reported several times for not wearing a mask at the mall... you guys aren't paying attention...

I don't wear one either. Not anywhere. And nobody denies me service because of it...

We don't actually know what the "majority" in the Appalachian region thinks about this case. All we know from the media is what the Minister thinks, the small-town bureaucrat principal thinks, and whatever the author of that amateur video propaganda thinks.

Besides, there are plenty of decent, hardworking people living in Appalachia who wouldn't dream of bullying their neighbors, so don't worry about this family's safety in that beautiful part of the country.

Hold on. Are you actually openly bragging about making your six or seven-year-old wear a mask in class?😵

Given that we all know first graders aren't required to wear masks, why exactly are you forcing your child to wear one?
🤦
The quality of "parents" these days is appalling. 😱

Exactly. We were all stuck in quarantine too, but apparently these assholes get a free pass...

rules of school. Masks are mandatory in the hallways.

I'm not looking for an argument. ☕
