Why do some people just have to put others down?

The only life-related topics that aren't quite so harsh are found in the psychology section, which is the only subforum I occasionally visit (though less frequently than before). I don't even read the others. When I first returned to the forum two years ago, I would start reading one of those threads and find it so aggravating and unsettling that I eventually gave up the habit altogether.

That was exceptionally well put. Honestly, it’s probably for the best that you decided to step away from those kinds of topics altogether.

It's always like that if you don't show them they can actually hurt you.
Applies to pretty much any dominant type.
Obviously, if we're talking serious criminal stuff, just run.

People are either naive or they just enjoy being told what to do... I don't see any other way it works.
Of course, picking on the weak is a whole different story.

In cases like this, you go after the leader and ignore the rest. If you manage to take out the head, you risk someone else stepping up to fill the void and inheriting their followers, who are a massive pain in the ass. Honestly, it's probably better to just stay away from all that drama. 🕺

You’re right, as usual. God dammit. It’s great how my authority was handed down by hiddenpuma75. Apparently, that queen is some kind of terminal invalid—critically ill—and now I’m supposed to feel guilty because I attacked her as if she were just any other person. Thanks—I think a summary will do the trick for me, provided it’s actually any good, which I suspect it is.

I don't think reading those specific books would really suit my temperament; they seem to lean heavily into that whole "law of attraction" philosophy, or whatever they call it these days.

Right now, I'm working my way through Love Story and Darkness by the late Amos Oz, who was quite clearly both a gifted artist and a decent human being.

I managed to get through two of Serena Alba's books—Geometry of the Divine Spark 1 and 2—but I'm completely lost on what the third one is. I've been scouring the web for it, so if you happen to know anything, please point me in the right direction.
