It strikes me that the true driving force behind all this is none other than Mother Teresa.

Just so you know, she isn't disabled or dealing with some incurable illness. If that makes things any clearer for you.

Sometimes I’ll admit, I get genuinely angry at those injustices, especially if the person acting that way ends up getting ahead while I'm left behind.
But then again, most of the time I just find myself laughing at them—it’s because I know exactly who I am and what my worth is—though, like anyone else, I still have those days where certain things just hit a little harder than they should...
What I really want to say is that if someone feels the need to tear you down, insult you, or play dirty just to reach a goal, it's usually because they are deeply unhappy with themselves and their own lives. It's particularly true for those types who try so hard to be "perfect" and please everyone; at the end of the day, they still have to go home and face their true selves, and all that hypocrisy eventually catches up to them.
What are your thoughts on all this??

You guys type so fast I can barely keep up with the thread. 😁
By the time I’ve even formulated a single thought, the conversation has already moved on to something else entirely.

Where did our original poster go?

I wouldn't say people have been outright "evil" to me, but I’ve definitely felt that sting of condescension, provocation, or people just trying to flex their power and puff themselves up.
That style of communication has always rubbed me the wrong way, and it usually leaves me feeling pretty unsettled.
When I’m dealing with people like that, I rarely handle it well in the moment; I usually just stand there totally stunned and react like image.

The anger doesn't even kick in until the next day when my brain starts replaying the whole scene like a movie, and suddenly I realize exactly what I should have said or how I should have stood my ground. I'm a bit slow on the uptake when it comes to reacting. 🤔

I find myself wondering about the motivation behind that kind of behavior.

Maybe they grew up in environments where being blunt or harsh was the norm.
Maybe they think putting someone else down is a shortcut to feeling superior.
Maybe they just lash out at anyone who won't fight back, knowing they can get away with it.
Or maybe some people just love dark humor and don't even realize they're crossing a line.

Personally, I love a good dark joke, but I’d never use that kind of humor with someone I don't know well—I'm never sure if they'll actually take it as a joke. You really need a foundation of trust before you start joking like that. Besides, there’s a time and a place for everything, and a joke isn't always appropriate.

I'm wondering the same thing—where did she go? She'll probably resurface tomorrow.

Regardless, you've certainly raised some thought-provoking points here.

That’s exactly how I see it—honestly. People who are just deeply, fundamentally unhappy with themselves and their own lives—when they spot someone who seems even slightly more content than they are—they try to drag that person down to their level. It's a way to make sure they aren't alone in their misery... if everyone else is struggling too, then maybe they aren't such a failure after all. Usually, when a comment is aimed my way, I don't take it personally; I know it isn't actually about me, it's about them. Truly happy people wouldn't spend nearly as much time judging how everyone else lives their lives...

Thanks for starting this thread... honestly, I almost missed out on learning a brand new word like "total nonsense" 🤣 🤣 🤣

The Priest used to be way more entertaining than even Alan Ford 😁

What are your thoughts on all this??

Insecurity.

Only people struggling with deep insecurities resort to belittling or demeaning others.
