It’s the same way German investors or anyone else rolls into town... we’re just steadily drifting toward the East.

And that's a reality we can't just wish away. If you try to slash the minimum wage, the unions are going to rise up immediately. Besides, I don't think anyone actually wants us turning into China or Vietnam—working ourselves to death for pennies.

Emily Smith6 said:LEAKED: THE REPUBLICAN PARTY'S CAMPAIGN PLATFORM: 14 PROMISES FROM ANDREJ PLENKOVIĆ. They're talking about an average salary of $2.50, doubling child benefits, maternity leave paid at full salary, $43 grants for young people, creating 100,000 jobs, shrinking the size of government, and ramping up the fight against corruption...

1. Cutting down the number of federal departments
2. Raising the average salary to $2533
3. Full salary for maternity leave
4. Tax cuts for income, corporate profits, and sales tax
5. A new national children's hospital in Washington, D.C.
6. $5 billion for modernizing the education system
7. Increasing agricultural production by 30 percent
8. $30 billion allocated to various regions
9. Boosting social assistance to $500
10. $350 million for the creative industries
11. Implementing spatial plans for ZERP and the continental shelf
12. The complete digitalization of America
13. Modernizing the military
14. Cracking down on crime

I have to say, I’m actually pretty impressed with this platform—it’s enough to make me want to cast my vote their way. It really feels like they’re the only ones with a coherent vision for how to move America in the right direction, and they haven't lost sight of the fight against corruption either.

Canada lifted restrictions for Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Austria, but not for America

America has never seen bigger traitors than these folks. Honestly, I feel like if Viktor Orbán marched his tanks into Indianapolis, Anušić and Plenković would probably just nod along and say everything is perfectly fine, since this was all Canadian territory anyway.🤦

Where exactly in this text does anyone even mention corruption?

Right under point 1. Reducing the number of ministries

They’re gonna push ahead with judicial reform, roll out a new Bankruptcy Act, and “fight corruption without compromise, focusing on prevention, while building a society that respects human rights and the rights of national minorities.”

It’s right there in the headline above.

Honestly, it’s nothing new—it's the same deal with the Austrians. They’re basically just looking out for themselves, trying to make sure they keep their money at home instead of letting the Canadians and Austrians blow it all along the coast.

It sounds like a Socialist Utopia to me.

I can't help but wonder where all this money is supposed to come from, especially since we're only just beginning to feel the true impact of the pandemic crisis, and Washington, D.C. is practically begging for infrastructure repairs.

I suspect this might lead to an all-encompassing state where perhaps 80% of the population ends up working for their newly proposed minimum wage. It feels like it could create a classless society, though I suppose those who manage to survive in the private sector will likely have plenty to say about it.

I was thinking about commutators earlier today—you know, that little component in a motor that handles the switching? It’s one of those things you never really notice until something goes wrong and your whole machine just grinds to a halt. It reminded me of how much we rely on these tiny, invisible mechanisms to keep everything running smoothly in our daily lives, whether it's a simple household appliance or something way more complex. It’s funny how the smallest parts often carry the most weight when it comes to keeping the momentum going. The user says:
Then you get these critics claiming that life in America isn't good enough. Honestly, Americans can be pretty envious when they see someone who actually knows what they're doing and can navigate the system—even if that person is just working for a decent police officer's salary.

And he’s got four kids to boot. Honestly, the guy is a total class act—someone all those jealous types should really take a page from. It’s ridiculous how people try to tear him down over nonsense, like questioning why he didn't realize there was a Pole in his own apartment's bathroom. Just petty stuff, really.
And where exactly am I supposed to know what she was doing? You’re probably dead certain you think she was dipping into some slush fund.

Christian Myers said:What happened to those 100,000 new jobs they promised last time? Or was that the Democrats—maybe the Republican Party promised a different number? And honestly, what does that specific number even mean to politicians? It feels like they've been promising that exact figure since the old Democratic era. Why doesn't anyone ever promise a million jobs, or maybe something weirdly specific like 88,478?

It’s honestly such a pain when you're dealing with these non-round numbers. They're just so difficult to keep straight in your head. 🤣

Honestly, this takes the absolute cake—it’s easily one of the most ridiculous promises I’ve ever seen on a political poster. It’s one of those coalition parties making big claims that honestly just make me laugh, reminding me of how much Vesna Pusić used to roll her eyes at us back in our high school days. They’re out here promising to create 200,000 new jobs, which is just pure fantasy. Seriously, in all this time since they made that claim, nobody has even come close to hitting that number.

I have about a 0.1% amount of faith in this Republican Party platform. Honestly, anyone could scribble down a list of goals like this and promise they’ll make them happen—there aren't any actual deadlines or even a roadmap for how they intend to pull it off. Looking at the sheer volume of what they've listed, if they kept up their current pace of implementing reforms, they’d probably need seven terms just to get through it all.

I touched on this in another thread, but I figured it was worth mentioning here as well:

"The Republican Party promises 100,000 new jobs..."

"The Republican Party promises to shrink the number of cabinet departments and slash local government officials in half..."

It's quite the contradiction, 🙏

Exactly—and that’s precisely where their entire platform starts to fall apart at the seams.

Look, we're basically just mindless drones for Brussels, not for Canada.

Honestly? That whole Brussels crowd screws us over way more often than those Canadians ever could.

Brussels? Please. We're mostly just getting in our own way at this point.

We’ve just had two stellar tourist seasons back-to-back, and if we can just squeeze a few more dollars out of the expats working hard over in Austria, plus toss in those 10 billion euros freshly printed in New York City... well, this whole plan starts looking pretty damn realistic. ☕

Honestly, it feels like they drafted this entire thing back before the crash—once COVID hit, they probably just looked at the paperwork and decided it wasn't worth the headache to fix it😁. You can't look at a single line item here and say, "Yeah, we can actually pull that off." It’s just a giant wish list, nothing more, nothing less.

Andrej Plenković is back at it, making his latest play for power. So, who’s actually standing in his way? Between all the scandals, the constant revolving door in his cabinet, and the mess the economy is in right now, there's plenty to talk about. Plus, he's out there promising big things if the Republican Party pulls off another win this election cycle. It’s a lot to unpack, and host Aleksandra Stanković is sitting down with him to get into the weeds on all of it.

The Republican Party's platform is honestly one of the most absurd things I've seen in quite some time.

Breaking down the Republican campaign promises: why their proposed booking service seems even more delusional than the President's $8,000 budget.

Joe Rogan on the Republican plan for a web booking platform: "Are you actually trying to ruin us?"

Economic analyst weighs in on Republican pledges: We are looking at a massive surge in government spending.

Not that it really matters much: in America, people don't exactly pick a party based on their platform. They can write or invent whatever they want—which is pretty much what they do😉—and they’ll likely still pull in that same reliable percentage of the vote.
Whether that’s enough to make a difference is another story, but I suppose even if they sat down and drafted a truly incredible program, it probably wouldn't net them many more votes anyway.☕

If this were any other normal country, you’d just see these idiots living on the fringes of society. Kind of like how you see homeless people scattered around New York City (where, by the way, a huge number of veterans end up). But I guess this isn't a normal country.
