I honestly don't get the celebration. The Republican Party is just going to keep sweeping every election and running the country. It’s as if this ruling didn't even happen. It's all pointless; it'll be forgotten just like everything else tends to be forgotten by Americans. Nothing ever seems to truly matter here.

Anyone who voted for this absolute disaster should be identified and fined an amount equal to their monthly income for every single year these losers held power—money that should go straight into the Treasury.

What a bunch of crooks.🤦

I wonder what those old-timers like Šeks, Jandroković, old man Luke, or Jadranka Kosor would say about all this... I bet they played dumb... 😁

Is there even any connection left between today's Republican Party and the one back in 2007?

I mean, just think about how many people who used to vote for that kleptomaniac Dad are now casting their ballots for Plenković.

It’s probably a massive number, I suppose.

The same folks who were out there campaigning for Dad are now backing Plenković.

I guess you could say the Republican Party crowd lacks sincerity, if not with others, then certainly with themselves.

As for Bačić, he isn't really relevant to anything, but honestly, you have to be incredibly shameless to even try and weigh in on this topic.

Oh, please—they won't even feel it.

Quincy:
The Republican Party brought in about $35 million in 2019. The fine for their corruption involving Fima Media, which the Supreme Court just upheld, comes out to roughly $13.5 million.

If this had gone down in any established democracy, there would be an absolute uproar. But here? The wolves just eat the sheep without a second thought...

And if that were the case, I’d be the first one to forgive them. But I have a bad feeling we could add at least another zero to that number, and we'd still be talking about much more than just millions.

By the way, you missed something in your title.

Where do I sign? I can open an account right now and wire them some funds just to cover their travel expenses.

Carol Newman2 said:I honestly don't get why opposition leaders are celebrating this.

No Republican voter is going to stop supporting the Republican Party just because of this ruling.

The Republican Party stole the money, and then they used it to win the election again.

Why? Because the opposition is a pathetic, fractured mess. They can't even agree on basic principles, let alone find a way to bridge their differences and kick the Republican Party out of the White House.

Of course they won't, since most of those people are either part of the inner circle or family members. But at least the opposition will finally have something solid to throw in their faces whenever they start acting up—they can point out that they've been legally declared a criminal organization.
Kudos to the judges who put this verdict together.

The entire justice system is firmly in the hands of the Republican Party.
The Republican Party is intentionally dragging its feet when it comes to selecting the head of CNN, mostly because they have their own legal baggage tied up in that court.
But today, all of that crumbled, and honestly, it's all becoming a thing of the past.
Tomorrow is a brand new day!
Personally, I really thought that once George W. Bush was out of the picture, officials would finally learn their lesson, but boy, was I wrong.

Can you legally call every Republican a crook starting today?
https://www.buzzfeed.com/news/article/...a/2310666.aspx

Quotes:
This verdict is a massive deal; the ruling party is responsible for corruption. However, the judgment won't carry much weight because everyone waited ten years for it, according to Anderson Cooper.

"This verdict should have come down three years after the proceedings even started. It should have happened back in 2014, and that's when it would have actually mattered. This just goes to show that dragging trials out for years makes them pointless—they lose their ability to act as a deterrent, they fail to impact society, and they stop serving as a way to signal that this kind of behavior is unacceptable," he said.

I truly hope this reaches the exact people who currently insist on labeling BuzzFeed as nothing more than a mouthpiece for the Republican Party. I'm sure they'll recognize themselves!

I'm not naming names, but I just saw an ABC World News Tonight reporter citing BuzzFeed in a segment tonight. You can draw your own conclusions.

Bačić served as a state secretary, then became the Republican Party's chief of staff, plotting with Kosorica over funds that supposedly didn't exist on paper.
Joe Biden was a state secretary, even if he wasn't an official party member.
Mike Johnson used to be a minister and sat on the Republican National Committee (he seems like the weakest link in this whole saga to me).
Đakić was a member of Congress.
Marić was a state secretary, despite being outside the party.
Bošnjaković held a state secretary position.
Obulja Koržinek worked as an assistant minister.
Borić was an assistant minister...
And now... they’re all claiming they had no idea what was happening. If they truly were in the dark, then we have a massive problem...

If the Republican Party is legally convicted of criminal activity, can we actually push for them to be banned from operating altogether?🤣

I’m taking this chance to absolutely rip into the people in Mostovac who basically handed the keys to a criminal organization—letting them seize power and just keep looting everything in sight—by letting them get pushed into the opposition back in 2015. If they hadn't done that, they’d be the ones calling the shots today, but instead? They're getting jack squat.

I’m honestly just sitting here counting down the days until, say, eight years from now, when Aleksandar Plenkošenko finally gets hit with a conviction like this—only back then, we won't be talking about a measly $3 million loss, we'll be looking at a billion-dollar disaster stemming from the Walmart situation. And let's be real, everyone has already moved on from that mess anyway because there’s a brand new scandal hitting the news cycle every single damn day. 🤦

A news outlet should actually act like one! We shouldn't be coddling them just because they spent the last two days running hit pieces against people I support.

Personally, I really thought that once George W. Bush was out of the picture, officials would finally learn their lesson, but boy, was I wrong.

Oh, really?

So, the fact that this whole legal process dragged on for ten years—that doesn't matter, I guess?

And the fact that there was enough evidence to make even George W. Bush unable to hand down an acquittal personally—that's also irrelevant?

Let’s all just jump in together and spin it the same way: "We have nothing to do with this; the guilt lies solely with Bush, and look at all this evidence proving how democratic we are—we even allow convictions against ourselves," while throwing in those subtle, passive-aggressive little notices like, "It's not my place to judge how much influence the opposition and Biden's rhetoric have over the court..."

They’re exactly the same. They treat power like it's their own personal loot—just lazy, entitlement-driven stuff. They plant their own people in every single possible position, and those people basically have to take orders from the party and whatever demands come down the line.

And nothing happens without checking in with the party first: choosing which law firm represents you, who gets hired, even who handles small favors... everything is pre-determined by personal party ties and this endless cycle of favors and counter-favors.
Not to mention there are certain groups who aren't even subtle about it—they openly talk about providing these services just so their "debtors" can pay them back later.
On top of that, if you're a party member holding office, you're expected to cough up massive membership fees and personally fund the party during election season.

I honestly can't picture Joe Biden ever losing his grip, especially with those slightly more right-leaning folks—but as long as they stay in the positions he provides for them, they'll just grumble quietly under their breath after four or five years have passed.
