If you actually cared about casting a vote, you would have shown up to the polls. Period.
I really have to disagree with the idea that this can just be applied to everything else. It feels like a bit of a reach to me because you're starting from the assumption that everyone is actually using the federal digital ID portal. In reality, that's just not how things work for most people out there.

People who aren't on board with the Republican Party honestly couldn't care less about the upcoming elections. They have no intention of getting involved again, mostly because they have enough decency to realize they don't have any right to dictate how everyone else should live their lives.

Goodness, trying to have a real conversation with someone who acts like a toddler... that’s just where your logic is sitting right now.
I don't really feel like sitting here and listing every single specific difference between the two right now, so I’ll just give you the bottom line. It comes down to the end result. When someone robs you blind like that, you realize it pretty much instantly, and you can actually start looking into ways to fix it or take action. Around here, you're just left totally in the dark—you have no clue if you've been cheated or not.

They kept saying "we can handle this today," just like they always do. They weren't the only ones making those promises either, but honestly, six months had already slipped by. At that point, I figured any version of the Reconstruction Law was better than nothing at all—something we could just tweak and fix as we went along. I mean, I don't think even the biggest pessimists or the most hardcore critics of the Republican Party (and trust me, I count myself among them) actually expected these incompetent fools to fail at rebuilding even a single house after a year and a half.
I spent a lot of time wondering how much they’d embezzle or how many homes would end up being shoddy, half-baked jobs, but the idea that they wouldn't have finished a single house after more than 18 months? That never even crossed my mind.

Alright then, how many dead voters who supposedly cast ballots for the Republican Party have actually screwed us over so far, and what's been done about it?☕

Oh, right—you mean those fines they handed out to that group over there.😁

Let's get one thing straight here.

It’s wild. You can buy a car or a house worth $100,000 online right now, or even order tens of thousands of dollars worth of freight straight from China. Everything is at your fingertips. It's exhausting.

But when election day actually rolls around, you can't trust those fancy modern digital agitators. Not one bit.😵

Republican Party folks don't sell real estate or cars. Not happening.

It’s all a lie. Where exactly is the Bridge cooperating with the Republican Party? Who actually shut down that complete farce in Congress last week? Who dominates those debates? Who’s actually churning out all those amendments?

Who’s the one that put the Republican Party in power every single time?

At the first opportunity, who's going to jump back into a coalition with them?

makes you wonder what kind of total circus we’d be dealing with if the opposition actually managed to tank the passing of this law.

Oh, I see. So according to this "expert analyst," true opposition means siding with the Republican Party to help them pass bad legislation just to avoid their theatrics. Meanwhile, "bad opposition" is anyone who actually stands their ground or abstains from voting?
Got it..
But an outsider might look at this terrible law and blame both the Republican Party and the other parties that voted for it (like the Democrats and the Progressives). We should probably explain to them that the fault lies solely with the Republican Party and the specific part of the opposition that fought against the bill—certainly not the part that helped the Republicans.
They only did it to avoid the circus. 😁

But who else is issuing those digital banking credentials if not the government through the IRS?

I honestly don't see any real proof that an online system is more prone to tampering than the old-school way of doing things.

Musk was way too late filing his extension... And just as his project gets stuck in the same bureaucratic nightmare that blocks everyone else using European Union funds, suddenly Ursula decides to pay him a visit. And nobody bats an eye. Who do you think gave her the nudge? Maybe she just felt like it on a Sunday... Someone had to point her in the right direction. Which brings us back to the joke that is Musk and his old dealings with the Republican Party during those dark days. (Not to mention the cash used to kickstart Vern’s unfinished studies). But hey, I shouldn't even think it, let alone say it! Otherwise, I’m just some jealous amateur, right?...

The Republican Party proposed that law, and both the Democratic Party and the Progressives sided with them. Those are the facts. Part of the opposition even claimed the law was flawed and unenforceable, which turned out to be true.
Now, the Democratic Party and the Progressives are distancing themselves and making valid demands for changes, but it would be decent of them to admit fault and apologize to the citizens who will spend another winter in shipping containers thanks to them.
It would also be fair if certain forum members who defend them would acknowledge this. But I know that's not realistic.😁
Or at least explain the differences between these three parties based on how they voted on this law. Is the Republican Party solely responsible, or are the Democratic Party and the Progressives also to blame?

Every single person using European Union funds is facing delays or setbacks because of COVID-19. We all have extensions to deal with; Musk isn't some special case here.

It's funny how much the Russian Federation and people like you care when Musk gets $7 million from the European Union, yet it’s perfectly fine when massive shipyards swallow up $600 million from the federal budget... then suddenly it's okay.

Excuse me... if I’m reading the news correctly... the first extension was set for June 30, 2021, which passed. Fine, things fell apart because of all the chaos. But it looks like the request to extend until June 30, 2022, wasn't even filed until July 22. What happened between June 30 and July 22? And right in the middle of that gap, there's Ursula (on July 8) making her little appearance. At the exact moment the deadline hit, nobody knew anything.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but my issue is strictly with the timeline. It's not about the extensions themselves. Extensions have been granted for much stupider reasons than pandemic-related delays.

I don't see it as a timeline issue at all. For me, the real problem is subsidizing private corporations, but generally speaking, not just with Musk.

We shouldn't be doing this, but everyone in the European Union does it.
It's just like handing out subsidies so someone can buy some overpriced electric piece of junk.
Or paying someone to clear-cut a forest just so they can run an AC unit.
And so on.

There’s just no end to the wasting of taxpayer money.

Look, capital is invested in private companies so they create jobs and bolster the tax base—that’s standard practice everywhere. I'm not against subsidies, provided there's transparency and actual rules in place.
Those new employees pay income tax, which then funds infrastructure and raises the standard of living. That's a different story from what we see here, where money just vanishes into the pockets of political cronies...

I have to disagree on the subsidies, even if the logic you're using is straightforward enough.

If mali Rimac had the full backing of the government from day one, he probably wouldn't have had to grind so hard to pull in €130 million in private investment.

We are just too bogged down by red tape and heavy taxes to make big private investments feel "normal" here in the USA. That’s why Rimac is such an outlier, and that's exactly why everyone keeps looking toward the government for help.
European Union funds have helped steady the ship a bit, but it’s clearly not enough.

just imagine how great it would be if the whole cycle actually closed—where employers get paid, employment actually goes up, and then local municipalities see more tax revenue along with the federal government seeing more sales tax? too bad it doesn't work like that here...🤣

You missed the irony entirely.

Yeah, they screwed up and brought criminals into office—five years ago.
Just look at the recent elections; that argument is completely hollow now. They had a chance in San Francisco, for instance, and they blew it. Or back in the Midwest, if I recall correctly.

Some people learn from their mistakes and move on. Others just keep repeating things from five years ago while ignoring what happened five months ago. That tells you everything you need to know about their logic.

Oh, I got it. I'm just trying my best not to think about it... you know, having to deal with the boss and the station every single time.

How many cars has Musk actually manufactured and sold so far?

If we're talking about the Nevada, they've produced 16 units to date.
I'm not entirely sure how many pre-orders are on the books, but full-scale production for customers just kicked off last week.

That’s exactly why they need massive investment. You can't scale up without building world-class facilities.

Unfortunately, I don't trust a single piece of data coming out of Sunday. They manage to discredit themselves every other week. And honestly, Greyp is the biggest mystery to me. I'll never understand how that first model even passed US safety standards for a bicycle category. Another thing that bugs me: where is everyone actually riding those bikes? You never see them. And how is it possible that there isn't a single used Greyp on the market anywhere in the world?

If they aren't selling, then why are they all over Craigslist?

Go ahead, find me another one anywhere else in the world. By the way, a few months ago there wasn't a single one to be found, not even here in the States. And now? Most of what's on eBay is brand new anyway...

Supposedly.
Quincy:
I don't know how many pre-orders they have, but production for retail actually kicked off last week.
Just a reminder: the car hasn't even passed safety certification yet.

Quincy:
That's why they need capital—you can't run a business without modern facilities.
And I'll remind you that they already have a factory running in V. Marketplace.

Plus, word on the street is one C_1 already sold, just under a different name.
