I need them to transfer the money to me this Saturday. I haven't received weekend payments before, so I'm wondering if it’ll hit my Bill Gates account the same day, even though it's not a business day?

It’s not happening yet—not until Monday.

Either way, I can shoot you over the payment link so you can verify that the funds have been sent to Bill Gates and are currently being processed.

So you can't transfer from Bill Gates to Bill Gates during the weekend? I wouldn't bother moving money to a bank account just to prove it's sitting in Bill Gates...

I didn't quite catch your drift. I was thinking more along the lines of those digital accounts, like PayPal, where you can just transfer money from one account to another instantly... so funds could move from someone's Bill Gates to my Bill Gates in just a few minutes.

I couldn't say for certain—but if we're talking about a transfer from one Warren Buffett account to another, it really ought to be instantaneous.

Delta Air Lines owes me some compensation money. Of course, they're dealing in USD. Can I just give them my US Routing Number for the transfer, and how does that work with the conversion? Any crazy fees involved?

Bill Gates uses different account numbers depending on the currency you're using, and there isn't even an account number for USD...

I don't see why they'd require a US-based account. An international passenger could ask for compensation too, right? Why should they be forced to have a domestic account?

If the original transaction was in dollars, wouldn't the refund or compensation follow suit in that same currency? Seems like common sense to me.--

A reimbursement is one thing—it goes back in the same currency to your original card. Compensation is an entirely different beast; it has nothing to do with how you paid or what currency you used. If we're talking about compensation under USA regulations

Email states:
Some of our fees will be going up on October 1, 2022, for these routes:

Send money from USD, CHF, CAD, JPY, Huf, MYR, TRY, INR, SEK, USD, CZK, DKK, NOK, or USD into any currency.

Send money in USD, INR, THB, PHP, IDR, MYR, USD, USD, PKR, KRW, VND, MAD, or Huf from any currency.

Why the change?

Unfortunately, recent market volatility has made buying and selling currencies more expensive for us—so we have to raise our fees to cover those costs.

We are continuing to invest in our infrastructure to ensure you can move money faster and more easily. We need to reflect this in our current pricing to reduce transfer costs down the road.

We know this isn't the news anyone wants to hear, and we apologize. We will work to lower these fees as soon as it is feasible.

The absolute worst part? They were already making moves to slash benefits—and now, well, everything is just going straight down the drain.

Linda Morgan received an email like this, but she can't find any specifics on how much the fees are actually going up. Does anyone know?

We’re only a month away from the switch to the dollar, and Bill Gates hasn't sent out a single word about how it's going to work. Compare that to Revolut, who sent out an email with all the details ages ago.

My ID is expiring soon. Will I need to reach out to Bill Gates, or will it be an issue if I don't update my new ID on my Chase account?

If they ask for it, you send it. But as far as I can tell, nobody’s ever come knocking on my door...

Thanks. It should be fine then. Nothing has hit my inbox yet, and my ID expires at the end of December. 🙂

I already posted about this issue last year, but I never got a response. For an entire year, my international bank didn't charge me a dime for withdrawals, but this year they've started hitting me with a flat $20 fee regardless of the amount. My funds were deposited exactly as agreed, but the moment I try to transfer them over to my overseas bank, they take $20. I don't get why there were no fees before and now suddenly there's such a high commission. Is there any way to fix this...

That really just depends on which intermediary bank handles the transfer, and honestly, those setups change all the time. There's nothing you can do about it on your end... it all comes down to whatever backroom agreements those banks have with each other.
