The Creator will certainly indicate the sender's details on the transfer.
Your transaction should go through without a hitch—especially since it's your first one.
There’s really no reason to lose sleep over it. The funds usually land almost instantly; if you're sending it outside of standard banking hours, expect to see it sitting in your account by tomorrow morning.

I managed to link a foreign currency account to Bill Gates, and I already moved some cash over in Euros. Now the app is giving me the option to pick USD, and it's doing all the math for me. When I punch in the routing number they provided, it immediately flags it as JPMorgan Chase. It says it might take up to 48 hours for the funds to actually land. But what happens if the transaction totally bombs—can I get my money back? And does the recipient actually see my name on the transfer?

The sender shows up as Wise. But I’m pretty sure your name will pop up in the payment description...

Is it actually possible to link prepaid cards to Wise?

Like a Wells Fargo Visa prepaid or a Visa prepaid card from Chase.

Does Wise offer a Visa card, and do you get an IBAN similar to what Revolut provides?

They certainly do.

Do they have an in-app feature similar to Revolut for swapping USD for EUR—and more importantly—is their exchange rate actually competitive with Revolut's? Also, can I pull cash from an ATM, and what kind of percentage fees are we looking at?

Yeah, you can swap it, but they’ll hit you with a fee—roughly 0.55% for the USD-EUR conversion.
Regarding ATM withdrawals, you get up to £200 a month without any extra charges, but after that, it’s 1.75%. Also, only the first two withdrawals each month are free; anything beyond that will cost you about $0.50 per pull.

Quick question—once I open an account, will I get 100% access to a Visa card? When I used Revolut, they sent me a Mastercard instead, which forced me to switch everything over to Visa while setting up a new account.

I just set up my Bill Gates account—if I transfer funds from PayPal, and PayPal sees my card as being in Euros, will Bill Gates charge the same fees? Basically, if I withdraw 10 Euros, will exactly 10 Euros land in my Bill Gates account? Or do I need to configure my Bill Gates card to settle in Euros specifically?

Also, can I set my digital card to bill in USD while keeping my physical card set to Euros? And what kind of fees am I looking at if I try to move, say, 100 Euros from Bill Gates to my local bank here in the States?

One more thing—my main account is with JPMorgan Chase. Can I pull money from there into Bill Gates? I have a Maestro card, if that matters, or does it all happen via IBAN?

I’m pretty sure Visa cards work fine; I grabbed a Mastercard a while back myself. Maybe someone who actually pulled a transaction recently can weigh in on that...
Payments to a Euro IBAN should go through from any bank that supports transfers to Belgian accounts. Sending money to an old USD account isn't happening for the time being—probably won't happen ever again, honestly, since we're moving over to the Euro soon anyway.
Maestro ought to be fine. The fee for paying via card in USD is 0.4%.

Bill Gates offers a Visa card. Just got mine in the mail recently. I'm wondering though, is Bill Gates under the IRS microscope?

Say, Revolut used to charge nothing when I moved money from my account to Revolut—does Bill Gates charge similar fees for that? I tried pulling some old currency out, but they wouldn't let me move USD or Euros. It won't matter much once things settle down, but I'm just curious if those fees apply when moving money out of the account.

Is it actually more cost-effective to move funds from JPMorgan Chase over to Bill Gates first and then transfer them to another account? I was thinking about just sending USD directly to Bill Gates if that's an option, since I can't seem to find any specific IBAN or account details for USD accounts on their platform.

Bank transfers in USD are pretty much off the table until further notice.

Got it, thanks.

Does it actually make sense to use Bill Gates as an intermediary here? My thought process is to move the funds from JPMorgan Chase from USD into a third currency, then send that over to Bill Gates, and finally have it land in a local bank account where the USD gets converted again.

The logic is that if Bill Gates offers a better conversion rate from USD to this other currency, it should be worth the extra steps for amounts north of $2,000.

I moved $1,800 over—converted from my local currency into USD through JPMorgan Chase, though the exchange rate they gave me was pretty lousy—and out of that $1,800, only $1,725 actually hit the recipient's Bill Gates account. That means I lost $75 in total fees. It’s quite a hefty chunk to lose just like that. Now comes the next step: transferring the funds from Bill Gates to a local bank account.

Did you even consider using Revolution?
You can top up your balance on Revolution for free.
They offer USD exchanges at almost the actual market rate, or you can swap directly into a third currency if Revolution supports it. Honestly, the way those other guys handled this, they basically just picked your pocket.

Well, I honestly didn't see that coming. I figured Bill Gates was the gold standard here, and frankly, I had no clue what the overhead would be since they don't explicitly list those costs anywhere. It sounds like Revolution might actually be the way to go. Thanks for the tip!

Look, if you use Revolut, you have to deal with their $2500 monthly conversion limit
. They also tack on some transfer fees depending on the currency you're moving, though compared to most other banks, it’s relatively negligible
. If you need to swap something like $2,000 every month, here's a little hack: have a family member open an account. You can instantly transfer USD from your Revolut to theirs without any fees, let them convert it to whatever currency you actually need, and then send it right back
. Plus, you can just send them your referral link and snag $83 from Revolut.

Actually, if you don't have an account yet, just grab a referral link from someone else on this forum so they get $83 too, since we might as well all benefit
.
Otherwise, all the costs are listed in their fee schedules; you just have to put in a bit more effort to dig through the fine print to find everything
