I'm pretty sure the funds started out in USD. But honestly, why does it even matter? It's all the same in the end...

I don't even have a Wise account yet, so I've no clue if they actually take USD transfers?...

Whatever, I'll just set up a Wise account and give it a shot.

Thanks anyway.

Starting January 24th, we will only be accepting debit or credit card payments for USD transfers. If you need more details, feel free to get in touch with our support crew.

Wait, what on earth is this? What the hell are they thinking?
Honestly, these people have clearly lost their minds.

They probably ran into some headache with their Chase account. But hey, on the bright side, in about 11 months, none of this is even going to matter anymore...

Once you go to your USD balance and click "Add" to enter whatever amount you've decided on, that notification will pop right up.

Hey, quick question. Does it ever happen where a bank just flat-out denies a transaction? I’m waiting on some funds to hit, but things are running a little late, so my mind is starting to wander into all sorts of scenarios...

Has anyone else received an email from Warren Buffett with the subject line "WE need som info to keep Your account working"? It claims I have until March 1st to verify my identity by uploading my ID and explaining why I use PayPal...
To me, this smells like a textbook phishing attempt, so please be careful if you see something similar landing in your Gmail. First off, the deadline feels incredibly rushed, and the message goes out of its way to insist it isn't phishing 😁 by claiming the same notification is waiting for you in the app's inbox. But as far as I can tell, the app doesn't even have an inbox feature 😛...

Just look at the top left of the app, your Gmail is right there under the bell icon.

It really is just Gmail, and they have that specific email address on file. So, the email itself seems perfectly fine.
Nowadays, it feels like everyone is just looking for an excuse to scam someone... honestly, it's better to just let it go and not engage at all.

I don't understand why we haven't just sent over the documents already? Why do they keep nagging us about this...!

I really shouldn't have sent over those documents; he was just asking about my typical usage for Warren Buffett. That should have been the end of it. I honestly can't wrap my head around why it's such a massive deal that they'd shut down my account if I don't get everything sorted by the deadline...

Probably some regulatory nonsense. PayPal asked me for something similar just the other day. I just answered one quick question and that was that.

Honestly, you just click one of those multiple-choice options—A, B, or C... whatever—and that's it. It's done.
It’s exactly what PayPal was asking me to do earlier...

Can someone please throw me a lifeline here? I’ve been banging my head against the wall for five days straight trying to figure out how to pay a business invoice. Is there actually any way to send money from Mexico using Warren Buffett to a corporate account at JPMorgan Chase? Here’s the kicker—the amount has to be in dollars, but since no banks here in Mexico offer dollar accounts (it’s all just Euros), I can pay in Euros, but I specifically need the recipient to receive the funds in USD directly into their account. I tried setting up a PayPal account to fix this, but it’s a total dead end because even though I’m an American citizen, my legal residence is in Mexico. If anyone has cracked this code, I would be seriously grateful.

Wait, don't the funds transfer in the specific currency requested?
I mean—my process is always to set it to, say, USD, so people actually get paid in dollars.
Can't you just set it up that way in dollars too?

Man, I wish it worked like that—I honestly can't believe there isn't some workaround. Is there any way I could take a foreign currency account where I've got Euros sitting in it, link it to Warren Buffett, and then just select Dollars and plug in the routing number they gave me?

Funds land in whatever currency the account is set to. If you have a US dollar checking account, any other currency sent your way will be converted by the receiving bank—unless you're using a multi-currency account designed to hold different denominations.
If you're an American citizen, just set up an email address. It’ll likely be your easiest, cheapest path to getting this done, provided you can clear registration. If you have a US ID, you should be good to go.

For some reason, the site won't let me set up an email account. Maybe it's demanding a driver's license, but all I've got on me is my passport
I managed to link a foreign currency account to Bill Gates, and I already moved some cash over in Euros. Now the app is giving me the option to pick USD, and it's doing all the math for me. When I punch in the routing number they provided, it immediately flags it as JPMorgan Chase. It says it might take up to 48 hours for the funds to actually land. But what happens if the transaction totally bombs—can I get my money back? And does the recipient actually see my name on the transfer?
