But wait, what are the odds that several of your friends would kill themselves? How many people do you actually have in your circle...

Our psychoses just aren't on the same wavelength🧐.

Hold up, what are the odds that several of your friends actually took their own lives... I mean, how many people do you even have in your inner circle?

Way fewer than before? 🕺

🕺 I am surrounded by it, rather than possessing it—a distinction that is vital, if one cares to admit it.
The reality is, I simply cannot possess it. 😉

First of all, I don't possess them 😁

It is truly refreshing to encounter someone who possesses a modicum of sanity. 😬

briskwalker10 As expressed by:
Hold on just a moment. What are the actual odds that you would lose several friends to suicide? It begs the question: exactly how many people do you consider to be in your inner circle?

I have dealt with them before, and fortunately, I still have quite a few on hand. It has been a recurring theme since my high school days.
A few years back, I found myself delving into the subject of suicide. It is a topic that remains conspicuously underreported in our society, which is quite telling. Despite the lack of discourse, these incidents occur with a frequency that suggests they are far from an anomaly.
This subject matter is misplaced here.

Exactly. That’s why I love this thread. 🍿

Peter Murphy6 said:When I was little, my older sister used to tell stories—not just to me, but to everyone. She just had that "it" factor. I absolutely loved listening to her; her tales always had this incredible impact, feeling almost like fairy tales, yet they were so deep and engaging. Often, after she finished, I’d find myself continuing the story in my head or just sitting there lost in thought, wondering about what happened next. She had this habit of leaving things on unexpected notes, though the whole narrative was usually so unpredictable that I never felt the need to try and guess where things were going. It was just pure, effortless relaxation.

From my perspective, that’s such a massive gift—it stays etched into your soul much deeper than just looking at a picture ever could. It’s hard to capture that kind of feeling through an image because a photo is just a physical object, whereas a story like that... well, those spoken moments are something else entirely.
When you look at what people are actually talking about, they’re much more likely to get caught up in myths and legends than they are in visual aesthetics.
I honestly can't decide which one is more beautiful. 🕺

I actually got my start with comic books, and they’re really what helped me develop my own drawing style. 🙂 I absolutely love them. 🙂 I think I’ve mostly drifted back into drawing in a comic book style lately, which was actually something I struggled with for quite a while.
I've got about 25 pages fully finished, along with a few others that I've just started working on. To be honest though, I think my real strength lies in shorter stuff—like quick comic strips, caricatures, or parodies. 😬
Even my horror comic—which is based on that dream again—ends up looking like some weird mix of a caricature and a parody. 🕺

I’d love to work with you sometime. I honestly think we could make a pretty great team. 🙂

Total curveball 😲
I'm down—honestly, feels like a win to me 🙂
And, if I'm being real, really those stories of yours? Totally hooked.

They aren't written down. Just a few fragments that don't make much sense on their own. A story is really just a story if you have someone to tell it to. You start talking, watch how they react, and then steer the narrative toward whatever captures them. Your job is basically to figure out which metaphors get them excited and then lean into those. It used to be easier back when people actually gathered around a campfire. We don't have that anymore now that high-voltage power lines have moved into our neck of the woods. 😁

This is probably the closest I’ll ever get to producing a semi-normal kid. ;ponosna:😍

And yeah, honestly? I'm actually into the idea of having two separate chats. 🥳.

Some posts have been scrubbed from the chat. 😲 There were some questions about them.

Look, since we’re just getting this chat off the ground, can we please try to be a bit more ambitious than just "Good morning" or "How's it going?" You guys are capable of better. As for those whose posts were deleted, feel free to try again until you figure out where the line is drawn. It was our mistake for not warning you beforehand. Our bad.

I'd rather have an ambitious chat than no chat at all. 😉

Wow, look at you guys go!! 🙂

To be honest, my post about changing diagnoses is actually pretty important for this community, so it’d be a huge help if you guys just brought it back 🙂.

Just kidding 😁.

But seriously... could you maybe start a discussion thread or something?
Like a "spiritual psych chat." I think Joseph Bailey41 had a thread about dreams, if I remember right, but honestly, I have no clue what's going on in there; it's kind of a mess 🙂. Or whatever else, as long as it's a dedicated chat with a specific topic instead of just nothing.
(Nailed it, I'm pretty brilliant)

We aren't going to pre-define anything here. This is just an open chat. We might give it a name later once we see where this actually goes. 🙂

Dice... what’s going on here? Is there really no dedicated psycho lounge or some kind of chat room space available for us to vent in...

Brandon Lopez6, are you being serious right now—did they actually change your diagnosis?

🤔

Fair enough.
You guys could honestly just call this the "dumpster fire thread" where you toss all the random off-topic stuff until the main discussion dies down (kind of like what happened up there). A chat isn't really a chat if people are getting deleted for saying "hey, how's it going?" and there aren't any clear guidelines on what's actually off-limits.

Yeah, but not everyone hangs out there, and this whole thing started differently anyway😁.

True... I definitely relate to some of the borderline stuff (though that feels like a catch-all bucket for basically every symptom ever), but I don't have the core component. In fact, I'm pretty much the opposite when it comes to that, which is the big thing.

For now, the doctor put down Bipolar II, but we'll see how it all settles over the next few months. 🙂

It was already stated—there's going to be some deleting at first. The guidelines are what stick. 🙂

Such high standards to uphold... It really needs to be strictly psychological...

I have to admit, I tend to get a little worked up about the fact that I’m getting worked up, if that makes any sense. It’s this strange loop where I feel irritated by my own irritation, because I truly believe I shouldn't be feeling this way in the first place. I just don't handle frustration very well—it feels like something I haven't earned, much like how you might feel when you're stuck in a massive traffic jam on the I-95 and you start getting mad at yourself for being annoyed by the delay. And then, suddenly, you're just twice as frustrated as you were to begin with.

You're on a roll. 🙂 It isn't mandatory, but I’d recommend it.

What kind of Psychology topic would this fall under? 😱

(31:40 - 38:40) 🤣

Using Big Brother as a lab for psychological experiments on people? Or maybe Fear—and how to deal with it?

Well, you see... by signing up for BB, you're essentially stepping right into a massive psychological experiment performed on human beings, though it’s all cleverly disguised as a pursuit of "fame" and the chance to hang out with others...

The whole concept was essentially an experiment from the jump. Honestly, I didn't think it would actually work, but here we are. It’s just like those ridiculous clickbait sites you see everywhere. Nonsense spreads fast; it goes viral because it's easy. And that old idea that everyone will get their fifteen minutes of fame? We've known that for ages. Mainstream media is boring, the internet is becoming a bore, and let's be real—it's all pretty dull if your idea of entertainment is just lowbrow garbage.
