I honestly don't get why everyone’s losing their minds over these banks lately... just get a job and deal with them, it's really not that deep.

But what if I actually tell them I'm a terrorist? 🍿

cosmicailor63, good grief, how am I supposed to get my hands on the cash? Like, do I swim all the way to Ireland or the USA, and then just... what, pull the money right out of their bank?

Well, honesty usually pays off somehow....
Maybe they'll offer you some low-interest loan or waive the processing fees...
Or maybe a blonde bombshell for a test drive... who knows...

Look, I don’t really care about savings accounts or getting a loan... I just want them to give me my own money that I'm supposed to receive through them.

The only other way this works is if I call a client living 10,000 miles away and suggest we meet halfway, which... yeah, that's basically impossible.

But hey, I'll always say yes to a test drive from a Ford. 😁

Look, you don't need a pile of cash. You work, you get paid, you save up. Once you've got enough, you go ask about an apartment—say it costs $600,000—then you pull out $550,000 in cash and tell the landlord, "Hey, here’s $550,000." I'm telling you, it's like a Walmart run, takes maybe seven minutes before they make a call. They might not care about the specific numbers, but when they see a bag full of millions, you're golden. You'll get the place and everything else too.

I'm 100% with you on this one...

I mean, who wouldn't want a test drive in a fresh, blue ride with the plastic still on the seats... and the second you tap the gas, that engine kicks in and just puts you in a trance...
Those car dealers really know how to work you...
I'm probably trolling too much here, but I could go on...

I recently opened a checking account and didn't face a single interrogation—no calls, no emails, nothing. Honestly, this whole thing feels blown out of proportion; apparently, they have nothing better to do than harass you ten times a day to fill out some endless questionnaire?🤦

And I have to disagree with the crowd here claiming it’s somehow "better" if the bank asks for my info instead of the IRS or other agencies. I’d much rather be asked directly so I can decide what to disclose, rather than having my data passed along without permission! I'm not hiding anything, but I really dislike the idea of the IRS meddling and handing my private details over to the bank like that!

Basically...
Banks already know exactly what they can legally get from the IRS...
But it's not enough for them... they always want more... yeah, right.

I recently did some business with Zab and they sent over this questionnaire that was easily four or five pages long 😲
. I didn't bother filling out anything beyond the standard basic info I always provide.
My banker asked if I had any business dealings in the USA, which honestly made me laugh out loud, but he insisted they have to ask now. I can't quite recall his exact reasoning—I wasn't exactly hanging on his every word.

I don't know, I get this weird feeling that the people making the most noise over a few simple questions are usually the ones who've already been through a full-blown security screening at the airport just to get their credit approved 😬 div>

Honestly, people are making such a fuss over nothing—it’s almost funny, really. It isn't as if the big banks don't already have your entire life story on file anyway! Just sign whatever paperwork is required to get the job done and move on with your day... unless, of course, you actually have something more productive to occupy your time.

Just sign the damn thing already. Don't even bother reading the fine print before you put pen to paper, seriously. 🤦

Just left the bank. They had me sign some paperwork claiming I don't hold any accounts in the US or whatever... didn't even bother reading it. Honestly, couldn't care less 😁

I mean, fair enough...
Why bother reading if you probably wouldn't get it anyway...
Just sign whatever they put in front of you, man... you know how it goes...

It’s hardly a question—you end up signing just about anything the bank puts in front of you
and then you’re left dealing with the consequences... 😵

Governor Vujcic is laying down the law, but it’s not the banks feeling the heat—it's the customers...

So, I had this super interesting chat with them today, and honestly, they’re asking for way more than they actually need to, yet they'll probably finish the job without giving me anything at all.
The short version of how it went down is basically this
"Look, we just have a couple of quick questions before we..."
"Actually, I'm really not interested in filling out any questionnaires or answering extra questions.
"But you have to, because, well, Blablablabla..."
"No, I don't. "😁
"Blablablabla"
"So, tell me, what's the absolute legal minimum amount of info I'm required to give you?"
[They didn't answer that, probably because they didn't know]
"Well, if, for example, you were opening an account, you couldn't get anything done without..."
"Luckily, I'm not opening an account. 😁"
"Blablablabla" [Realizing they won't win me over, so they just give up on trying to persuade me] "Alright then, fine"
Then another person comes over, and they're trying to do exactly what I asked for, but their app keeps glitching out, and they're just totally lost.
This one tries to be helpful by repeating the same old line, like, "When you open an account, you still have to..."
And she gets the exact same response.
"I don't plan on opening any new accounts." 😁
"Blablablabla"
...
In the end, they only got one single piece of information from me—just enough to let them complete my request (which used to be possible without even that, until they recently updated their app to comply with new KYC rules); I didn't fill out a thing, and those ladies didn't even get around to asking those ridiculous details about who lives with whom or anything like that.

I really can't stand anything that feels like a sales pitch, or being pressured into things, unethical business practices and stuff like that. And this definitely falls into that category—all these "you have to" stories they try to sell you, which someone might actually take for granted if they weren't just flat-out wrong and totally inconsistent with the law.

So they called me again, but I didn't bother swinging by Chase—I didn't really have anything to take care of there anyway, plus it wasn't even on my way through town... and now I just got this notice in the mail saying I need to call them back ASAP. It looks super official, almost like some kind of summons from a court or something!

Honestly, just give them a call and ask them straight up what the deal is. And don't be afraid to demand a formal apology in writing, too.
