I fail to see any pressing reason to make the trip over there ☕

That famous survey popped up on my Chase app today; it’s a bit shorter than the one they usually hand you at the branch.

Honestly, just send them an invoice. If they actually pay up, then maybe you can consider showing up:

1. Travel expenses $50
2. Paperwork hassle $17
3. Total invasion of privacy $50
4. GRAND TOTAL=$117
🙂

Don't forget you gotta tack on the sales tax for that too. 😉

Pretty much...
Don't forget the fees they gotta kick back to the IRS too...
A few months ago I got some mail from Chase (didn't even bother sending it certified, just tossed it in my mailbox...) asking me to fill out some forms...
Obviously, went straight in the trash after ten seconds...

Fortunately, I now have everything documented with my name clearly listed in the header—so if people get worked up enough to start making actual threats, I can just hand this over to a friend of mine who practices law... I really don't have the energy to shuffle my funds over to another bank, especially since I'd likely run into the exact same mess there—as it stands, I at least have something tangible to work with if they decide to truly cause trouble.

Since they finally let me skip the trip to the bank and do it online, I spent a whole minute filling it out, only to get this:
Error saving data

Don't blame me if they didn't get their data. 😁

Is anyone else getting harassed by other banks about this questionnaire, or is it just JPMorgan Chase?

I’ve got accounts at JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo, but only JPMorgan Chase is breathing down my neck to fill this out. What’s wild is I already did the whole thing in person at a branch a few months back, yet the damn thing just popped up on my online banking again the other day. 😵

My mom uses Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase, and she’s getting the exact same treatment—only JPMorgan Chase is hounding her about it. They've already sent her two letters telling her she needs to get down to the bank ASAP to finish the paperwork. 🙄

It feels like JPMorgan Chase is the only one taking this "obligation" so seriously.

It looks like only JPMorgan Chase remains.

I received that infamous letter from JPMorgan Chase. I visit my local branch at least once a month, and frankly, nobody has ever bothered to ask me a single question regarding those data privacy matters. As for my account over at Wells Fargo, I haven't seen a single letter or even an envelope.

Two of my kids have accounts at Bank of America, and nobody even bothered to ask them for any documentation. Meanwhile, the third child has an account over at Wells Fargo, and they haven't requested a single scrap of information either. It’s a complete lack of oversight.

I didn't realize that letter from JPMorgan Chase was an official court summons, so I failed to file a response.

Every bank has the obligation, but clearly JPMorgan Chase is the only one taking it seriously. Maybe too seriously.

Based on his situation and mine, they obviously have technical glitches with the system.
🙂

Personally, doing this online is a great solution. You can get it done in peace without anyone eavesdropping or creating extra lines at the local branch.

My mom has an account at Zillow, and she got that notice a few months back. She hasn't bothered to deal with it yet. She’ll probably just swing by the branch when she's running errands and give them whatever answers they need. No one has called her or sent anything since.🙄Honestly, you guys are being such drama queens.
JPMorgan Chase asked me those same citizenship questions and if I had any business ties in the USA a few months back.
It’s honestly hard to believe some people go through all this trouble just to ask the same questions over and over again. It’s exhausting.🤦🤣
I haven't heard anything like that from anyone else; it seems to be unique to this forum. At the end of the day, you can just decline to fill out the survey and call it a day. Nobody’s going to force your hand.🤣

Look, everything a bank is actually allowed to know about you is right there on your driver's license, plain and simple.

JPMorgan Chase tried to verify someone's ID just to kick a whole family out:

So, I was grabbing coffee with a colleague today, and she’s venting about this ridiculous situation. She got a call from one of the big banks—JPMorgan Chase, specifically—claiming they needed to collect and update some basic account information. Honestly, she was actually worried for a second that her local branch was calling regarding that loan application she submitted online back on October 20th. But then, *bam*, reality hits. It turns out if she actually tried to reach her loan officer to get an answer, they wouldn't even pick up the phone 😛. She’s absolutely fed up because these institutions spend millions on flashy commercials promising you can get a loan approved in 24 hours, yet here she is, still waiting 24 days with nothing to show for it 😛. It’s the same old story: they want to reach out to you instantly when it suits their agenda, but the moment you need them? Total radio silence
.

p.s. We're talking about a loan for $4.00 over a 24-month term. Her accounts aren't frozen, Hulk is in good standing, her credit score is solid, and her ability to repay is perfectly fine...

I’ve already had two separate notices sent my way telling me I need to drop by a local branch just to update some personal info.
And honestly, the thought of actually stepping foot in there doesn't even cross my mind...

If only everyone around here accepted cards. Cash just gets on my nerves...

What really stresses me out is having to cover sales tax—sometimes upwards of $30 or $40—on items I already paid for with a card, only to have that money sit in limbo for weeks while payday is right around the corner.😁

The system really needs some better regulation because it’s frustrating when you pay for something and expect it to hit your balance instantly, yet there are times you find yourself waiting an entire month for the funds to clear.👍

On a side note, I haven't had any issues with JPMorgan Chase at all; they haven't asked me to fill out a single extra form beyond my business account, my personal checking, and my savings.

This could be a pretty useful heads-up if JPMorgan Chase decides to start being difficult—I’m actually getting ready to head in for a few transactions that require an in-person visit, so I’m bracing myself for the usual nonsense... hopefully, it’ll be enough to tell them that if they aren't interested in managing my funds, then ☕Chase is all I need.
One thing I am wondering, though—has anyone actually run into trouble for refusing to take a survey, or have people had their accounts frozen and been unable to withdraw cash from an ATM?

I went into JPMorgan Chase today to sort out my bio, and they didn't ask me a single question. Maybe it was just because the branch was slammed.

I actually stopped by Wells Fargo as well, and it was the exact same story—nothing.

Yeah, looks like Citigroup is the only one being this aggressive with the questionnaire—calling people's homes, texting them, sending those letters, calling them to come in... it's constant.
They are seriously relentless.🙄 From what I’ve gathered from some folks who actually know the rules, there isn't even a legal basis for them to badger people into filling this out if they don't want to. Everything necessary was handled when the account was first opened... none of this applies to them. If they actually suspect someone of money laundering or terrorism, they should just call the FBI and be done with it.

Honestly, I think I'm gonna start looking for a new bank. I’ve been meaning to do it anyway, but these guys are driving me up the wall. I just want some peace and quiet. I'm a totally low-maintenance client: no debt, no overdrafts, no loans—I just want to grab my paycheck from the ATM and not have to deal with them.

Even a few years ago, whenever I had to visit a branch (nowadays I just stick to the ATM), I'd constantly get stuck at the teller window. Usually after waiting forever in line when I was already in a rush, too! And then comes the nagging: "Could you please fill out this form? Could you please take this survey?" They’d practically shove the papers in your face, and if you said you were in a hurry, the staff would give you this huge attitude. I know other banks don't push it this hard or act this rude, but Citigroup is hands down the most annoying about it. Most of the time, I'd just cave and do it because I knew they'd just bother me again next time.

Well, I'm done with the harassment. I've had it up to here with them.
