but let’s be real—we’re talking about people who had the grades and the bank account to get into pretty much any university they wanted 🙂

plus, those vocational medical programs were never just three-year stints anyway

Now it’s a five-year grind

No textbooks, no solid framework for finals, and then there's elective courses—how is any of that actually going to impact the big exams?

So many questions, and honestly, zero answers.

Look at how the President is desperately trying to spin this mess to save face🙄

And don't even get me started on that pundit on CNN; I can barely stand listening to him🤦, isn't he just a complete moron?

I am seriously looking forward to the protest tomorrow! 🎉

Honestly, reading this official's statements makes me feel like they truly believe we’re all just incredibly naive. I’m practically waiting for him and the Governor to spin this entire protest as some sort of enthusiastic endorsement of their supposed reforms 🤦
At the end of the day, it's just business as usual 🤮

Hey, do you think traffic is going to be totally backed up? I’d love to go with my girl, but we’re stuck without a ride home—my man is dropping us off, but then he’s heading to his night shift at FedEx. Our only other option is public transit—taking the subway to Brooklyn and then grabbing a bus.

Honestly, I'd say yeah, it probably will
We'll likely just take the light rail to the main station and walk the rest of the way... 🙂

Honestly, seeing everyone stay positive and actually act civilized proves this reform is worth pushing through. People are finally walking the walk.
That goes for both the crew grinding on the reform and everyone who showed up to back it today.

Honestly, this little protest making all that noise about teachers at sixteen years old? It won't even get off the ground. 🤣

You'll have fewer people showing up than at a BlackRock meeting. 🙂

I'm just glad I didn't delete this post earlier.
I mean, a picture really does speak louder than any random comment. 😍

Shout out to everyone who showed up!

Man, we ended up running late because of those preschool plays
and getting toward downtown was a total nightmare—they were letting cars into the main garage one by one like it was some kind of bottlenecked drill

But hey, we finally made it and it was absolutely killer! 🙏 🙏 🙏

We had quite the celebration today. 😬
It was actually nice to see such a huge crowd for once.

It looks like some people still don't know the difference between a festival and a protest:

The rally in Chicago was hit by heavy downpours, yet we still saw roughly 300 to 400 people show up... I can't say I was particularly impressed with how the Chicago crowd handled things... but then again, considering it's Chicago, I suppose it’s expected... a mediocre performance at best...
It is truly unfortunate that the weather didn't cooperate... hopefully, we will see a much larger turnout if the skies clear up next time...
Respect to everyone else who stayed the course!!!

The U.S. Department of Education is currently working on scrapping that old 2012 rule—the one that stopped us from giving out mid-term grades.

Honestly, experts, parents, and even the kids themselves have been screaming from the rooftops for years that ditching mid-term grades was a total disaster for our schools.

Betsy DeVos sees this as one of her top priorities to fix. She’s already officially kicked off the process to roll back that decision.

If they had actually bothered to listen to the pros before passing that rule in the first place, we wouldn't have wasted all this time on a failed experiment.

What exactly constitutes an "expert" in this field?
From what I’ve been able to gather, our local educational "experts" seem to be in total agreement on one thing: they can't agree on anything at all. 😂

Honestly, I haven't met a single expert in the field who thinks we should ever go back to issuing mid-term grades. 🤷

It’s quite evident they have absolutely no idea how to conduct themselves or even how to project an image of actual competence—they’ve finally decided to... reinstate mid-term grades 😲
I suppose this is their grand way of making up for that disastrous overhaul of the school system. ☕

Whenever I find myself chatting with my students about this, every single one of them—and I mean every last one, without exception—tells me how much they actually miss having those mid-term grades locked in. They seem to think that without that halfway checkpoint, everyone just gets way too relaxed, and then you end up with this long string of grades they aren't happy with. They basically leave themselves far too much breathing room to fix things, only to realize at the end of the school year that they aren't satisfied with where they landed.
I suppose I’m not entirely sure what my own take on the whole thing should be, since I can see valid pros and cons to both systems, I guess.
