Being obsessed with Castaneda is basically just being hooked on pills, mushrooms, or Peyote.

Some people just can't stand living in this reality we've been handed. Unfortunately for them, their own brains force their hand, making them reach for something extra to cope. Honestly, they should probably include a disclaimer when publishing Castaneda; his books are nothing more than propaganda for using hallucinogens to "expand consciousness." In that headspace, you might actually start thinking angels are sitting on your head.

I bet Castaneda's fanboys find Christian values annoying because they teach that everyone carries their own cross—you can't just toss it aside by swallowing whatever substance comes your way.

Personally, his first two books—Don Juan teachings and separate reality—where he pushes the whole mushroom thing, were pretty dull to me. (Later on, it seemed like he was just trying to shake up Castaneda's established worldview).
The Path to Ihtlan, moca circle, second moca circle... all the way to the Art of Dreaming—those were interesting enough as fiction (with an occasional psychological idea worth testing out), but lately, his last few have been so forced and obviously made up that I just couldn't get through them.
I haven't dug much into his actual life—I think what Chery wrote is spot on—and honestly, it feels weird to see people attempting some kind of "self-help" based on his books. 🤷

Well, thank God your nonsense actually makes sense for once.
Do I really have to start asking you basic questions again just to get you to settle down?

nimblewolf11;
to start with,
it's the church that has this centuries-old habit of trampling over—though they totally fail to grasp it—the original spiritual values! but hey, the winds are shifting lately toward creating new ways of thinking where new natural values can actually grow, which is basically what the human spirit craves anyway. it's a far cry from those artificial, processed constructs of twisted and made-up values that were cooked up just to serve their own interests throughout history, all at the expense of the regular folks who were basically told they deserved their poverty and suffering.

First off, it wasn't the Catholic Church reacting to the sign-up, it was me.
So, you aren't picking a fight with the church; you're picking a fight with my honest, blunt-force opinion regarding all that New Jersey-style barking at Christian values.
You'd be better off tackling me and my actual life experience instead of throwing out those cliché, anti-Christian stereotypes.
It’s crystal clear where you stand.
Just total, blown-out, New Jersey-style anti-Christian nonsense.
You can try to hide it, but you can't flip yourself upside down to mask it.
Unlike you, I look at Christianity through a completely different lens (just spontaneously, intuitively, and from experience)... based on what I personally "see" and feel spiritually.
Am I wrong about something?

..your posts on this thread just drip with destructive rage.. from some wounded, negative ego!

Is my attempt to call out someone else's hypocrisy "destructive rage"?
A wounded, negative ego?
I'm dying to know how a "positive ego" calls out hypocrisy?
By nodding along like some apologetic little lapdog?
The post that triggered this whole sub-thread was nothing more than basic, low-level, political-style propaganda.
What kind of ego are we talking about here?
Some "inspiredly positive" constructive type?

Did you even read my opening post?
Is it clear what I was pointing out (or are you just playing dumb)?

shouldn't the fundamental value of Christianity be love, spreading love....? where are these "Christian values" actually visible in action?? how can something universal (God, Christ, Love..) be institutionalized, claimed as property belonging to someone? in what segment of historical existence did Christianity actually live out those values???

What are you even talking about?
Who's stopping you from living by Christian principles?
The church?
Give me a break... you and your confusion/cluelessness.
So, calling out the propaganda preaching from SW/her hypocrisy and two-facedness in that sense—that's somehow attacking the very core of love?
Your phrases sound as pathetic as something ripped from a cheap Hallmark card; "segment of historical existence of spreading love"!!?
Just because you say something with passion doesn't mean you're right.
It just means you're passionate... basically self-combustible.

When did Christianity actually live out Christian values?
Christianity produced thousands of saints (people who lived, lived, died, and are still dying today for what they hold in their hearts).

Do you even know anything about them?

Why did Christianity turn into this mess of intolerance, hypocrisy, labeling everyone, and just straight-up mocking anyone who thinks differently...? Why do people claiming to be Christian get so triggered when they get hit with actual constructive criticism? Where did it all go wrong, and was there ever even a version of this that actually practiced being tolerant toward the original message?

That’s not what Christianity stands for, you’re just putting words in its mouth.

Just trash-talking for the sake of it isn't "constructive feedback"—it's just being a jerk.
The only one being hypocritical and obsessed with labels here is SW.
I’ve already made my point crystal clear, no ambiguity about it.
It’s so obvious you could see it from an airplane (like those high-altitude capsules Felix Baumgartner jumped out of recently).
Why are you acting so surprised?
The fact that I can practically hear the emotionalism in your voice proves that this topic is spot on and my arguments are solid.

I get the feeling you're just throwing around rehearsed phrases... looks like you've got the same goal in mind.

Btw; why does constructive criticism offend you so much?
I’m talking about the dilemma laid out in the first post—on one hand, you have people bashing Christians, and on the other, you have people sweeping the filthiness of the guy driving this whole fixation under the rug.

The answer to this and plenty of other similar questions is pretty simple and can be summed up in just a few words! Christianity, along with most other religions (new, old, small, big, whatever...), is constantly clashing with itself and the rest of the world in all sorts of sneaky ways. It’s because, throughout its entire existence, it hasn’t been able to rise above its animalistic nature—that hyper-focused, selfish consciousness and the petty ego. By definition, that kind of mindset is immature; it's the ego of puffed-up leaders controlling a bunch of unconscious individuals, molding their lives however they please.

So now you’ve just invented your own personal religion, some unique path to mystical enlightenment!?
Your own little personal legend that serves as its own goal and purpose... sounds like music to your ears.
You basically just pick and choose whatever bits suit you best while practicing your little routine...
Depending on how you’re feeling or what your "vibe" is at the moment... tucked away safely in your little bubble.

I bet you don't really care about what's happening in your actual surroundings or how this affects your loved ones... I assume.
As long as things are fine for you / as long as your comfort zone (so-called "karma") isn't disturbed, right?
When someone points out the fact that this might not actually be good... that people aren't actually growing spiritually but are just stagnating and catering to themselves—they get pissed off and pull the "righteous indignation" card, screaming about Christian values.

That’s exactly how SW acted too... without bothering to look at her own mess.
Her obsession with the legend is so codependent that she completely ignores the fact that the guy whose writings hypnotized her was just your average con artist. He basically recycled a bunch of different teachings, packaged them into a few books, and through sheer manipulation, drove several naive, truth-seeking women toward suicide.

Totally stuck in her obsession, she’s now trying to lecture others with this fake, self-righteous attitude;
“Aha... look how some Christians reacted in the past!!”
“I read this on some liberal, shallow-political, anti-Christian website...”
(even though nobody actually called her out on it)

So, what is she actually trying to tell us?

That my father's spiritual value is questionable, for example?
Or that hers is beyond doubt?

Can you see how low this approach is? This pathetic attempt to undermine people?

For instance, here is something from the usual arsenal of those "holy" church dignitaries (words they love to repeat): God loves you more than the birds in the sky and other non-human creatures, and since He takes care of them and ensures they have food without worry, you shouldn't worry about what you'll eat either...
What does God even care about? Like, who does He love more or less? Who’s His favorite and who’s on His bad side? And if everything isn't His, then whose birds are they? What kind of God sits there categorizing creatures by "value"—unless it's just some human brain trying way too hard to judge everything!

Okay... so you're a vegetarian.
Are you pushing that whole Hinduism thing?
I mean, aren't plants living things too? They deserve to stay off our dinner plates, right?
Do you really think you're somehow better than them?
What makes you any more special than a damn cucumber?
The fact that you've got a keyboard and can type on a forum?
(Honestly, the answer to that is the same as what you were rambling about earlier... maybe just try answering it yourself.)

Anyone with eyes can see there's zero benefit here—it's actually just harmful. People are being misled by twisted interpretations, their minds are being played with, and everyone's just having this emotional relationship with God. Prayer starts looking less like actual growth or tapping into inner potential and more like just begging God for some random, selfish favors.....

My family—my dad, my mom, and my grandma—are living proof that isn't true.
I haven't met a more spiritual man than my father.
And when I say that, I mean he actually lives out what's in his heart by example.
When I look at how he lives compared to all those New Age posers, those fake gurus and charlatans running around these parts, I see how hollow, pathetic, and staged they all are.
They barely understand spirituality... the "inspiration" they try to force on people is so shallow.
They babble on about building a "personal legend," but my old man—even though he wouldn't give a damn about stuff like that—is a living legend.
At least in my book.
He’s put more soul into the things right in front of me than all those "spiritual remedies" people try to sell from the outside.

Your problem is that you don't have anyone back home who's actually alive, real, or close to their heart to look up to.
That's why you're so narrow-minded and clearly frustrated/brainwashed by that New Age crap.
I get where you're coming from, though.
You just don't know any better.

It's a shame.
(Plus, it means any random hack can manipulate you with a few New Age heart-tugging lines or some marketing-driven, mystical bullshit)

When you don't have your own internal compass, you end up grasping at anyone else's desperation like a drunk person grabbing a railing.
Every little emotional outburst gets mistaken for some "mystical experience."
But someone else's experience is always just that, nimblewolf11. It's not yours.
No matter how much you try to deny it, you'll always be an outsider—just a broken telephone, hearing a story third-hand.

Zachary Cook2 said:It’s because they just want to be in charge. If you're on their side, great—if you aren't, then you're basically nothing.

Here's an example of what happened to me recently.
There’s this girl who constantly attends these group prayer meetings held in community halls rather than actual churches—basically part of some Christian sect that calls itself a "community." She offered me help. I've been dealing with some health issues lately, so she brought over a blessed pendant from one of her meetings and told me it would help. I turned it down. Her response? A sharp, "Fine, then stay sick, you egoist."

Basically, if you're a sheep in their fold, you're fine; if not, then rot.😁

For the record, I healed myself using natural remedies and I'm doing just fine—I'm not with them, and I'm certainly not sick.

If Jesus actually existed, he was a truly phenomenal guy, and there's a lot of good to be found in his legend. But these leaders creating these cult-like atmospheres? They’re doing the exact opposite of what Jesus stood for, all while selling it under his name.

Yeah, you hit the nail on the head there—they want to call the shots, and on top of that, they end up peddling some pretty warped interpretations. But honestly? I really don't have anything against anyone making their own choices. People can act however they want, think what they want, or believe what they want... as long as it doesn't cross personal boundaries and become exhausting for everyone else—including folks who aren't even part of the group but end up getting caught in the orbit of these wannabe believers.

Here’s an example of something that happened to me recently.
There's this girl who constantly attends group prayer meetings held in halls away from the local Catholic Church—basically, she's part of a Christian sect that calls itself a "community." She offered to help me out. Since I've been dealing with some health issues, she brought a blessed pendant from one of her prayers and offered it to me, saying it would help. I turned her down, and she just snapped at me with this totally egoistic, "Fine, then just stay sick" attitude.

Haha, okay, here's my little anecdote! A few years back, I had a handful of women and one new convert practically riding my back. They were so "concerned"—praying for me to get back on the "right path" so my soul wouldn't end up in the fires of hell if I didn't join the one true, righteous Christian God in time. Lol. Seriously, they used all sorts of sneaky tactics to try and reel me in—inviting me to seminars, retreats, telling me how popular certain groups were at the time... and when that didn't work, they'd suggest I at least try joining a prayer circle just to see what the experience was like. And oh boy, did they keep pushing! Should I even mention how much they wore me down with those empty, mindless stories about demons and other nonsense? This whole saga dragged on for almost five years! Sure, they got pretty annoying, but I actually managed to find some amusement in the middle of all that boredom.

So basically, if you're a sheep in the fold, you're good; if not, you're out of luck.😁

Whatever happens, happens!

If Jesus actually existed, he was truly a phenomenal guy. There is so much good to draw from his legend, yet these leaders who build these cult-like followings seem to act in total opposition to Jesus while selling themselves under his name.

Jesus' message during those times of massive crisis, violence, and oppression was undeniably a clear message of love and forgiveness!
I just don't understand how anyone—anybody at all—could be so heartless and claim to follow him, especially given his words and actions which were rooted in pure love and respect for life.

@frozengull2, this isn't directed at you. You were a little upset, sure, but you're generally such a sensitive, quiet, and kind-hearted person—even if you are a bit oversensitive sometimes!🙂

How is someone actually going to become aware of their own Spirit? At the end of the day, that’s strictly a personal journey and a matter of individual responsibility.

Judging someone else's path as some kind of "fake spirituality" while acting like your own convictions are the gold standard—even when they aren't really a choice—is just bottom-tier fundamentalism. Honestly, that kind of mindset is exactly what triggers the millions of casualties in wars fought in the name of faith...

True believers (think of people like Saladin the merciful, that French blacksmith, or even the knight Arn in certain versions) don't let their convictions divide them from others... on the contrary 🙂

What do you mean "keep"? It’s not like we’ve ever actually talked.
Go ahead, try asking one of those simple questions—let's see if they actually work as a sedative.

Look, can we please skip the personal attacks and the condescending "holier-than-thou" attitudes? Let’s try to stay focused. Our point of reference should be what the other person actually wrote, not the person behind the screen.

I usually don't bother replying to people on these forums with hardly any posts—they’re often just burner accounts—and I'll admit I haven't been following your posting history closely. So, it's entirely possible we actually *are* on the same "side" (but there are always enough other people out there who "get" what I'm saying).

nimblewolf11 👍

Well, thanks for the grace. 😉 By the way, what is the magic number of posts required to avoid being suspected of being a clone? Is hitting a thousand posts some kind of guarantee of authenticity? How many hours a day does one need to spend on an American forum to earn full membership status?
(Off-topic, but I couldn't help myself 😁)

I admit I haven't been following your contributions here, so it’s entirely possible we’re on the same "side" (though there are always enough others out there to ensure someone eventually "gets" what I'm saying).

I haven't been following your writing either, aside from this specific thread. It’s possible I’ve stumbled upon one of your posts elsewhere, but nothing stands out in my memory.

Generally speaking, I feel like I'm on the side of any well-intentioned "seeker." My impression is that most people visiting this topic fall into that category—though occasionally they get tripped up by their own egos (myself included). But if you take a moment to look beneath the surface, you'll see that most of us are actually striving for the same thing.

That’s why it’s so frustrating to watch generally good-hearted people here bickering over trivialities while missing the actual point. If I were to lean into conspiracy theories, I’d say someone (or something) is certainly profiting from that distraction.

This whole topic was born as a reaction to something, which was itself a reaction to something else, and so on. A pendulum, a swing, a perpetual motion machine.

The root of quasi-spirituality doesn't lie within religions or sects; the issue lies primarily in our own human weaknesses. We tend to choose the path of least resistance, shift responsibility onto others, or become exclusionary and defensive. Different religions are just different paths toward the same destination, but ultimately, the journey depends entirely on the traveler and their intention.

Benjamin Taylor6 said:How exactly am I supposed to put in the work here? My instructors at TMU have always been pretty vocal about avoiding "effort" altogether—they preach this idea of spontaneous chanting, suggesting that spiritual fruits should just manifest themselves naturally without any sweating or striving. But honestly, those fruits are taking their sweet time to ripen. It’s getting ridiculous. I’m sitting here out here expecting a massive pumpkin, but all I ever seem to harvest is a tiny little walnut. 😢😲😁

I first picked up Castaneda about twenty-five years ago—it feels like a lifetime, honestly—and there was always this one nagging thing that just never sat right with me. He talks all this heavy, profound stuff, but when you actually look for the substance, he lacks any sort of developed spiritual discipline. It’s all very vague. Aside from basically just taking a little hit of some peyote bud and drifting off into a trance, I don't see much else. To my mind, that isn't exactly what I'd call a "technique." There's no real meditation involved, no deep contemplation or mental rigor—just... wandering. I remember reading one part where Huan gives him this bizarre task involving lizards sewing his eyelids shut, which was certainly memorable, I suppose, but let's be real—that doesn't strike me as a legitimate spiritual practice.

Wait, didn't you guys learn in TMu that anticipation is totally counterproductive? (It just builds up this massive, nasty tension in the mind)

The real deal is that searching for any kind of peace outside of ourselves—which basically means finding it in the present moment—is the goal. Any daydreaming about how much better things will be in some distant future is really just a refusal to accept who we are right now; it's just fantasizing about a version of ourselves that doesn't even exist.

Your issue is that you didn't grow up around any vibrant, living role models who actually lead with their hearts.
That’s why you’re so exclusive and—honestly?—so "burnout" frustrated, almost like you were indoctrinated by some intense Jersey attitude.
Though, in a way, I get where you're coming from.
You just don't know any better.

Just a little something from my own history...

You might not believe this, but during the first years of my conscious life—from what I can recall now—everything was incredibly religious, purely Christian! Even the local priest was impressed because I kept expressing interest in joining the priesthood (not that anyone in my family ever suggested it; they actually thought the idea was hilarious). After all, when it all started, we were just kids starting to connect words into meaningful sentences. My strongest memories are of evening prayers and Sunday Mass... that stayed pretty much constant until I was about nine.
By the time I hit my teens—and even earlier, really—that inclination had totally vanished. It was just the same repetitive patterns over and over again, which eventually turned into pure boredom—kind of like being served the exact same meal every single day until you can practically taste it in your ears! It wasn't until my twenties that I realized those things don't actually add an adventurous spark to life (except maybe at the very beginning); instead, they just feel like spinning endlessly in a circle of sameness. That’s actually what many long-term believers struggle with—this sense of saturation and emptiness. But they keep pushing uphill because they think God demands that kind of sacrifice, you know? Like they have to prove themselves to earn praise from the heavens. So, it’s hardly a surprise that we see such scandals emerging from church leadership almost daily—scandals that people try every possible way to cover up... well, politics is politics, right?

During that transitional period (when the new was overlapping with the old, worn-out ways), deep meditative experiences had absolutely nothing to do with emotional highs. It's true, though, that someone might mistake a manifested emotional rush for a deep, concrete experience—but that usually happens to people who haven't learned to step outside their emotional state to clearly distinguish emotion from actual experience, which are as different as night and day.
When you're experiencing emotions too intensely, you lose your footing; you aren't grounded, and you end up floating in the clouds of your own imagination. In contrast, genuine experiences ground a person just enough to make them feel complete and whole. Basically, using sentimental prayer as a tool to achieve something is just naive and, frankly, a bit silly...

I assume you see why I decided to share this firsthand account with you!

..I'm not here to be your dissident opposition.🙂

Whatever—it looks like you've officially joined the side of those church grumblers!

What kind of ego trip is this, anyway?
Angry, biased...

So, what's actually stopping you from living by Christian principles? Seriously—what is it? Is it just life getting in the way, or is there something deeper holding us back?
The Church?
Oh, please... you and this constant confusion—honestly, what is it with you not getting this?
So, does pointing out all that propaganda preaching from SW actually boil down to her being hypocritical—like, she’s being totally two-faced and essentially attacking the very heart of what love is supposed to be?
You're totally missing the mark here—how can you say that?
Of course, nobody is getting back to me regarding my love life! Honestly, though—why would I even care? I’m just living my life and soaking up those moments of pure bliss whenever they decide to show up spontaneously. Isn't that the whole point?
But look, this isn't actually about me—I was aiming my comments right at the church dignitaries! I mean, where is all that supposed love they preach? Or would you agree that it’s mostly just a facade, wrapped up in these awkward, superficial displays of sentimentality?

Quote : Inside Silence
By the way—why does it feel like you take constructive criticism as a personal attack? Is it just me, or does it seem like you get offended by helpful feedback?
Not in the slightest! Honestly, I couldn't care less about New York!
I’m not offended by any of these "facts"—honestly, I’m actually pretty glad all this nonsense is finally being laid bare! But just a heads-up, though—watch out, because there are absolutely no exceptions to this.
Maybe you could try stepping out of that defensive shell once in a while? Wouldn't it be refreshing to just let go of the guard rails for a bit?

Quote : Inside Silence
So... you're a vegetarian?
Are you actually out here advocating for Hinduism?
By the way—don't you think plants are conscious beings too? Shouldn't they deserve a chance to stay off our dinner plates?
Do you honestly think you're better than them?
What exactly makes you think you're somehow better than a total loser?
What would Hinduism even be doing in this part of the world? It belongs exactly where it's supposed to be—somewhere else!
I think you missed my point! — I was actually making an allusion to that whole idea of superiority versus inferiority—you know, like how birds look at humans through "God's" eyes? I wasn't talking about feeding them or anything like that!
Isn't it a little childish to think that God created man in His own image, only for us to turn around and become this massive cosmic joke—basically a total glitch in His creative process?

Aren't all living beings just reflections of God, regardless of what they look like?

Quote : Inside Silence
I honestly haven't met anyone more spiritual than my own father!
...
In my eyes, for sure!
Spirituality—at least how I see it—isn't some special prerequisite you need just to measure how much someone is in sync with God, nature, the Holy Spirit, or the universe. It’s not about checking a box! I honestly believe that our entire lives are inherently spiritual; it really just comes down to where we choose to point our focus—toward materialism or toward the spiritual side of things. At the end of the day, both matter and spirit are subject to the same laws of space and time in which they exist, right? If a spirit is primarily oriented toward the material world, it experiences the material... whereas if the interest is focused on the spirit, that's what we experience as the abstract. It's all about that orientation!

Humans are naturally compassionate—which basically means we’re all softies at heart!

When you don't have your own solid ground to stand on, you end up grabbing onto someone else's desperation just to stay afloat—kind of like a drunk person clutching at a life raft.
Every single emotional outburst gets misread as some deep mystical experience.
But someone else's experience is always just that—someone else's, nimblewolf11.
No matter how hard you try to deny it, you'll always be an outsider (a flawed interpreter, a broken telephone, or just a story told through a third party).

There is no "theirs," no "ours," no "mine"... it's all just noise. It's just that tiny, fearful ego playing games with our thoughts—clearly! It's terrified of losing its safe little harbor and its sense of self, those little self-deceiving lies we tell ourselves to feel secure..........
;-)

I really feel for you...!!!

to start with,
it's the church that has this centuries-old habit of trampling over—though they totally fail to grasp it—the original spiritual values! but hey, the winds are shifting lately toward creating new ways of thinking where new natural values can actually grow, which is basically what the human spirit craves anyway. it's a far cry from those artificial, processed constructs of twisted and made-up values that were cooked up just to serve their own interests throughout history, all at the expense of the regular folks who were basically told they deserved their poverty and suffering.

Totally stuck in her obsession, she’s now trying to lecture others with this fake, self-righteous attitude;
“Aha... look how some Christians reacted in the past!!”

I actually put in some effort and tracked down the exact link SW was copy-pasting.
It wasn't exactly rocket science—just Google "worst Popes."
http://idesh.net/report/najgori-pape/

Then she goes off on some tangent about "what kind of people Christianity is based on" or something along those lines.

Wait, are you seriously telling me that doesn't bother you???????????
Look at what they were doing, and yet you're still defending it like a headless chicken.

What you're saying about Charles is basically 0.00000001% of what those people actually did—the ones who were at the top of whatever they represented and the ones people actually trusted.

As far as I recall, Charles wasn't even convicted of anything related to what you're talking about, nor did he preside over any courts. Go ahead, enlighten me if I'm wrong.????

...Besides, if you had actually read his interviews, you'd know the man spoke out publicly against drugs and New Age movements... those hallucinogenic preparations that Don Juan gave him (in the first book) were given to him to help him break through a massive mental block because he was going through a hell of a time personally... he was stubborn and foolish as hell... and the only person who could have given him that was someone who actually knew what they were doing, which was Don Juan.

Do a little more homework before you start talking nonsense...😂😉

Got it. Ready to roll.
Look, your post is actually the perfect excuse for me to finally get to the heart of what I’ve been trying to say.

Hold up, I gotta sort one thing out before I even start typing.
Hey mods, look, just a heads-up—please go easy on me regarding the parts of my posts where I'm quoting headlines or dropping info from other sites. I’m not gonna name names or anything, I'll just be dropping links instead. Just asking for a little breathing room there.
Look, I’m not out here trying to run ads for the competition or whatever. Seriously. I’m just laying out the actual facts here because if you don't get those, you aren't even going to understand the point I'm making. It's pretty simple when you look at it that way.
Without them, my whole setup is incomplete, and honestly, it just leaves me totally handicapped when I’m trying to actually explain the core of what I’ve figured out.
Thanks in advance for being cool about this and understanding where I'm coming from.

Look, my stance on this whole propaganda circus surrounding Christian spirituality is already out there in the open. I’ve said my piece. What I’m pointing at is pretty damn obvious if you actually bother to look.
It really gets under my skin, man, the way he constantly goes after her with those sneaky, backhanded jabs; it's just constant.
Pure propaganda, pure populism, just straight-up hypocrisy... and they don't even give a damn about what’s actually going on right here at home in the States.

First things first, we gotta talk about where all this info is actually coming from and the whole shady way they push it on us.

Where did it all even start? Honestly, looking back at how everything kicked off... it’s a mess. Just one big, chaotic chain reaction that nobody really saw coming. It feels like we're just dealing with the fallout now, staring at the wreckage and wondering where the hell we took that first wrong turn. Everything just spiraled.
From that one site.
So, what's his deal with orientation?
Check out what we've got here;
Look, for those of you who are too lazy to actually read anything, I'll just give you the whole deal by summarizing everything right in the first sentence of the article. There, happy?
In the name of Metallica, Black Sabbath, Motörhead, and Grandpa, let's pray...

image
The picture I grabbed from that site pretty much says it all. You know what I mean... they say a single image is worth a thousand words, and honestly? This one hits harder than most.

If you want to know if a source is actually legit or just some random clown, you don't even need to look at their bio. Just look at what kind of garbage they’re serving up. The topics they pick tell you everything you need to know about how much of a joke they are.
Look, I’m just saying—take a look at the headlines under the "serious" news section on this site. Honestly, don't even get me started on the rest of the garbage they post. It's a joke.
So, I was looking through this massive archive—we're talking over 360 pages of seriously heavy-duty stuff—and honestly? I only skimmed through the nine most recent ones. Out of about 60 articles total, I managed to pick out half of the ones that actually mattered. Just a tiny fraction, really.
So, here’s the deal on what I stumbled upon (basically just a breakdown of the kind of content and profiles we're talking about here);

Confessions of a troll.
So, how do you actually get big boobs? Apparently, some people think getting slapped helps. Seriously? What kind of logic is that? Just sounds like a recipe for a bruise, not a glow-up.
If the US wins the World Cup, some porn star is gonna be giving out freebies to everyone.
World Cup glorious deaths on Halloween.
Total garbage opinion.
So, I was sitting there, right? Just staring at my coffee, thinking about how much everything sucks lately, and then it hit me. What if the world actually ends? Like, for real. Not just some political nonsense or some billionaire losing his mind on Twitter, but a full-blown zombie apocalypse. Yeah, you heard me. It sounds crazy, but honestly, given the state of things, why not? I’m not talking about that Hollywood crap where everyone runs around screaming and dies in five minutes. That’s stupid. If you want to survive, you need a plan. A real one. First off—supplies. You can't just rely on Amazon Prime. When the grid goes down, those delivery drivers aren't coming to your door with a box of protein bars. You need the basics. Canned goods, yeah, but don't just grab whatever is on sale at Walmart. Get the stuff that actually lasts. And water. People always forget the water. You can live a week without food, but you won't last three days without water. I remember back when my old man tried to go camping in the Rockies and we ran out of water halfway up the trail... man, that was a rough two days. Don't be like us. Second, gear. Forget looking cool. Nobody cares if you look like a tactical badass from a video game. You need stuff that works. A solid knife, a decent flashlight, and maybe a crowbar. A crowbar is underrated, seriously. It opens doors *and* it hits things. Simple math. And please, for the love of God, find a good place to hide. Somewhere quiet. Not some big city like New York or LA. Those places will become giant meat grinders the second the first bite happens. Think more like a small town in the Midwest or somewhere tucked away in the mountains. Somewhere you can see people coming from a mile away. It's all about being prepared, man. Most people are just drifting through life, totally clueless, waiting for something to happen. But if the zombies show up? Well, most of them are gonna be toast. Not me, though. I'll be chilling in my bunker, probably listening to Metallica, waiting for the chaos to blow over. Stay safe out there.
Strava and absolute nightmares; the most terrifying urban legends out there.
Stabbing; dancing and sex on the dry side (dancing that’s basically known for wrecking your junk)
So, let's talk about weed. Like, everything you actually need to know without all that medical jargon or the weirdly intense lectures from people who act like they're lecturing you from a pulpit. Honestly, it’s a whole thing. I remember back in my college days—well, before things got too crazy—my buddy used to say that everyone thinks they know what they're getting into until they've actually tried a specific strain. It's kind of like trying to pick a band at a dive bar; you think you want heavy stuff, then suddenly you're just vibing to some lo-fi beat and staring at the ceiling for three hours. Total trip. There’s so much noise out there. You’ve got the "wellness" crowd treating it like some holy elixir, and then you’ve got the old-schoolers who still look at you like you're committing a felony just for wanting to chill on a Friday night. It’s a mess. But if you're looking to understand the basics—how it hits, how it affects you, and why everyone's constantly arguing about it—you gotta look past the hype. It's not just one thing. It's a spectrum. Whether you're looking to spark up and forget your boss exists or you're trying to deal with some actual stress, there's a rabbit hole for every mood. Just... don't go thinking it's a magic fix for everything, because it's definitely not. Trust me, I've been there.
Man, I was scrolling through YouTube the other day—way too late, obviously—and I ended up falling down one of those rabbit holes that makes you question if humanity is actually cooked. Just a straight-up collection of the most bizarre videos ever uploaded. It’s wild out there. One minute you're watching a cooking tutorial, and the next, you're staring at some fever dream that feels like it was filmed in a basement in middle America by someone who hasn't slept since the nineties. Honestly, it gets weird fast. Like, really weird. You start thinking you've seen it all, then some guy decides to film himself doing something absolutely unhinged, and suddenly you're questioning everything. It's a total trip.
Big Brother knows exactly what you look like.
Honestly, some people have zero taste when it comes to Halloween. Like, seriously? I saw someone walking down the street yesterday in one of those cheap, plastic superhero outfits that looks like it was made out of trash bags. It’s embarrassing. I mean, don't even get me started on those "sexy" versions of everything. You know the ones. Just a tiny bit of fabric and a prayer. It’s lazy. If you're gonna go as a character, actually put some effort in! I remember back in high school, my buddy tried to go as a giant taco, but he forgot the structural integrity part, so he just spent the whole party looking like a crumpled bag of Doritos. It was tragic. Truly. And the puns... oh man, the pun costumes. "Holy Guacamole"? Really? That’s where we are now? If I see one more person wearing a sign that says "Error 404: Costume Not Found," I might actually lose it. It’s just uninspired. It’s like they didn't even try to think for five seconds before hitting the store. Just give me something with actual substance, or better yet, just wear a regular outfit and call it a night. At least then you won't look like a total clown.
The Brazilian Batman is out there patrolling the streets.
So I’m out back, just minding my own business, you know? Doing my business in my own yard—just peeing, nothing crazy—and then I look up and realize I’ve somehow ended up on Google Street View. Like, seriously? Can't even have a private moment without some satellite camera catching me mid-stream. It's absolutely ridiculous.
So, I was thinking about this earlier while scrolling through some random threads, and honestly? Sharing porn is totally legal. Like, it's just part of the landscape now. People act like it’s some huge taboo, but in the US, it's pretty much wide open unless you're getting into the illegal stuff, obviously. It's just how things are.
Jane's got some hot blondes between her legs.
Just sang a freaking anthem dedicated to those girls' chests on the beach.
From having the longest tongue to rocking the biggest afro, man... things just get wild.
Some leaked photos of Scarlett Johansson.
A thousand boobs for buddy Putin.
College life, man... I'm basically majoring in video games, terrible movies, and absolute losers.
Man, I was scrolling through some old history forums last night—you know how it goes, getting sucked down a rabbit hole at 2 AM—and I started thinking about the absolute worst popes in history. Like, seriously, some of these guys were straight-up villains. It’s wild when you look back at the sheer chaos they caused while sitting in the highest seat in the Church. Honestly, looking at the mess people made this summer, it feels like we're just repeating the same old patterns of terrible leadership. Just total disasters from start to finish.
You can basically spend this whole summer licking Lady Gaga's boots.
Total goal in the trunk.
Chattroullete; there aren't any more naked pees left.
So, they finally picked the hottest girl in the Netherlands.
Rent a friend – I’m honestly losing my mind over that Justin guy.
Pornography for the blind. Seriously? What even is that? Just... what?
Forty thousand hookers against forty-two million condoms... I mean, do the math, people. It just doesn't add up. Seriously.
Vampires working for the White House... seriously? This guy, who’s basically positioning himself as the next Obamin, is out here promising people will be staked through the heart. What a joke.

Here’s what everyone’s losing their minds over right now (the TOP stuff):
Those bratty politician daughters who basically dragged their parents' names through the mud... man, what a mess.
So, how do you actually use a vibrator with him in bed? Honestly, it’s all about the vibe—literally. You can't just barge in there like a drill sergeant; you gotta play it cool. I remember this one time back in Chicago when my girlfriend brought out this crazy high-tech thing, and we were both just staring at it like it was an alien artifact. It was awkward for a second, but then we just leaned into it. The trick is to make it feel like part of the flow, not some weird interruption. Don't make it a solo mission where he's just watching you work. Use it on yourself while you're together, or even better, let him direct it. It's about building that tension. If you go too hard too fast, it’s like trying to drive a Ferrari through a school zone—total disaster. Just ease into it. Keep it playful, keep it messy, and don't overthink the mechanics of it all. Just go with it.
Porn as decor? Seriously? Like, just hanging it on the wall like some fine art masterpiece? I don't know, man. It’s such a weird vibe. People act like it’s some edgy statement, but honestly, it just feels a bit desperate. Reminds me of that one guy I knew back in Chicago who tried to make his entire apartment look like a neon-soaked fever dream—everything was just... too much. You think you're being bold, but really you're just making everyone who walks through your door feel incredibly awkward. It’s like trying to make a mess look intentional. Just a thought.

Who even writes this sensationalist garbage? Honestly, you can tell exactly how brainless the content is just by looking at the way the site recruits its staff. It’s pathetic.
So, this is basically how they get them all riled up;
Listen, you little scribbler, pay attention... (frozengull2).net is looking for collaborators. They're basically hunting for people who actually give a damn about what they write—you know, folks who can actually pass that passion on to the readers instead of just churning out mindless garbage.
Look, if you're just here to talk trash about whatever, then yeah, welcome to the party. Grab a seat.
The crazier and more insane, the better...
And honestly? It’s like expertise doesn't even matter anymore. Like, at all. You can be the smartest person in the room, have all the credentials from Harvard or wherever, and people will still just look right past you. It’s a joke.

Just a quick glance at what was written and you can already tell how questionable and shallow the whole thing is (pretty sure the source is just Wikipedia).
Regarding Innocent VIII, for example, it says (and I'm quoting here): "The moment he died, the Middle Ages ended and the era suddenly brightened." Like God Himself was throwing a party for his death or something!?
Where the hell does that conclusion even come from?

It’s nothing more than cheap populism and the kind of loud, screaming sensationalism that’s just bottom-of-the-barrel stuff. It's in the same trash bin as vampires running for the White House and preaching about being staked through the heart, and Catholicism!?

The obvious goal here is to paint a twisted picture of everything that is "default" despised by these people.
They only mention the negative examples selectively—if I remember history right, there were over 260 popes. What about them? And how do they fit into the equation with these few examples mentioned?
Same goes for when you criticize an entire era through one specific figure without mentioning that, say, Saint Francis appeared at the exact same time with his vow of poverty and became the total antithesis, carving out a whole new path. It’s clearly not giving an objective view.

It isn't hard to see that this is just low-level agitprop, using gutter tactics to try and shape or steer public opinion.
By leaning into loud sensationalism and bizarre claims while being super cynical, they’re trying to target the most vulnerable—you know, the young and the gullible who are still figuring out their own stances.
Just imagine what kind of thinking level we're looking at for people who consume nothing but this kind of garbage.
Unbridled consumerism...
The kind that encourages non-discriminatory impulsiveness aimed solely at self-gratification and entertainment without any limits whatsoever.
That’s basically how a dog acts once you wash it and let it off the leash.
To me, this looks like just one tool in the attempt to drag society down to that level—this globalized, consumerist, gender-numbed hive mind where the only rule is: "Consume as much as possible. You're free to do whatever you want... anything goes."

Who actually buys into these projections?

You do (clearly, based on what you posted), and so does whoever cooked up and distributed this text. They don't even stop to ask where it comes from or who is planting it and why.

That's exactly what I'm pointing out here.

Btw;
Isn't it reasonable to conclude that in the same way you swallowed this questionable content (totally impulsively and naively), you're also taking everything Castaneda feeds you at face value?
In my book, cheap populism, screaming sensationalism, and that mystical emotionalism (which I call "Castaneda-ism") mostly attract "pudding" minds.
Why "pudding"?
Because they're easy to mold with some cheap writing.
Think about the spiritual potential of someone who is so prone to these kinds of influences.
How much do they actually "see" or understand!?

What frustrates me most is when these types (who are basically modeled like pudding) start talking trash about things they don't even comprehend.

How else am I supposed to interpret this twisted, malicious critique of Christian spirituality? It's presented as a bunch of half-truths and snippets used to wave around, while blatantly burying heads in the sand and ignoring facts that I have pretty thoroughly pruned away regarding what he's actually bragging about.
Everything I’ve attacked regarding Castaneda (unlike those shady anti-Christian texts from certain sites) has clear, verified, and authentic sources.
Personal testimonies from people who were part of Castaneda's innermost circle.
Please, go watch the film produced by the BBC!
Those testimonies aren't just hearsay; they were filmed and well-documented by the people closest to Castaneda themselves.

So, isn't it fair to say that being obsessed with dreaming according to Castaneda's recipe—given the fact that he based his writing on a 19-year-old girl whom he crushed, exploited, and falsely portrayed as a "Blue Scout" whom he personally "brought" to Earth from the astral plane!?—is rightfully considered a form of self-induced obsession?

How do you even begin to describe how some people interpret their "life experiences" on this forum? It’s all through this weird lens of "blue scouts" and imaginary creatures...!?
Like... "Oh, I actually met a 'scout' just like the ones Castaneda writes about!"
Doesn't that kind of nonsense deserve a serious deep dive from a psychoanalyst?
Honestly, anyone prone to this stuff should probably take a second to look in the mirror and question the "alternate reality" they've basically hypnotized themselves into living in.

And look, your attempt to brush this all off by saying the text was just "linked" isn't cutting it.
It wasn't just some casual link; the title made it incredibly loud and obvious—it was practically slapped right in our faces.
The thread title I started as a response is basically just a paraphrased version of that exact same thing!

Anyway, to wrap this up;
It doesn't matter if Castaneda wasn't convicted of anything.
What does that even have to do with anything?
The point is, his manipulative nature and obsession drove several women straight toward their deaths.
The fact that those women ended up killing themselves because they were left crushed by unfulfilled promises of "learning" after he died... that changes absolutely nothing. Inside Silence.

Later!

That's a killer shot of Jesus.

(I mean, why should the devil get to have all the best tunes?) 🤣

Basically just summing up all that pure, concentrated malice directed at Christian values.

It’ll cheer up the idiots and drive anyone with half a brain totally insane.

You’re still stuck on how some junk website can have anything to do with spirituality—or fake spirituality—and all the misery it causes.
I really hope you realize that Castaneda makes up about 0.00001% of North America.
Still, that 17th point is starting to pique my interest.

Petition: ban heavy metal and eat religion.
There’s only one holy, redeeming church—the Orthodox Church.

To me, it doesn't even seem offensive—it delivers the message through the music, which is why I said it was cool. It’s not being overbearing, though, you know? I don't want people thinking I'm some ultra-devout Christian zealot or something. 😁

In my book, spirituality is about self-discovery, and honestly, the only knowledge actually worth having is knowing who you really are.

And look, you could probably explain that you love Christianity without using that tone—you know, instead of acting like you just despise anyone who sees things differently.

I've come across plenty of individual, non-uniform explanations in books—things that might be "right" from the perspective of whoever wrote them, but that's it. Just because something clashes with our own perception doesn't mean it's inherently wrong.

You're totally misreading what I wrote.

I'm not out here campaigning to ban anything; I'm just pointing out how hypocritical people are being toward Christian values.

What part of that isn't clear?

What does the Orthodox Church have to do with me?
Where did you even get that idea?

Btw;
it seems like my age is this constant, ongoing dilemma on this subforum!?
Let's just solve this little "mystery" once and for all.
Common sense tells you that the whole "how old is she" thing is ancient history when it comes to me.
Why?
I've been on this forum since 2009.
If I was 17 back then (and you gave me a username that basically screams my age), I’d be at least 3 or 4 years older now.

I'm still struggling to wrap my head around these Christian values you're talking about.
Care to actually explain them?

What does the Orthodox Church have to do with me?

Well, how exactly do you plan on being saved if you don't believe in—and belong to—the one true church, the Orthodox Church?

PS
Bonus question—how is Castaneda different from some of those previous popes?

John;
Quincy:
I don't really get these Christian values.
Maybe write a bit about them.
They're right there in the song by St. Francis.
Every time I read it, it just hits me differently... reminds me of those moods I find myself in sometimes.
It makes me feel this crazy connection to him.

CANTICLE OF THE CREATURES
St. Francis of Assisi

Most High, almighty, good Lord,
to you alone belong all praise, glory, honor,
and every blessing.
It belongs to you alone,
while no human being is worthy enough
even to mention your holy name.

Be praised, my Lord,
with all your creatures,
especially with brother Sun:
from him we receive the day,
warming us with his light.
He is beautiful and full of bright splendor,
a reflection, Most High, of your divine radiance.

Praise and bless
my Lord,
give thanks to him, serve him all,
in great humility.

Be praised, my Lord,
by our brother Moon and sister Stars.
You have scattered them, so bright, dear, and beautiful,
across your sky.

Be praised, my Lord,
by our brother Wind,
by the Air, the Cloud, and the clear skies,
and by all your weather,
that sustains your creatures.

Be praised, my Lord,
by our sister Water,
she is useful, humble, precious, and pure.

Be praised, my Lord,
by our brother Fire, which lights up our dark night.
He is beautiful and pleasant, powerful and strong.

Be praised, my Lord,
by our sister and mother Earth.
She feeds us and carries us, bringing forth sweet fruits,
colorful flowers, and herbs.

Be praised, my Lord,
by those who forgive out of your love
and bear the hardships of life with joy;
blessed are those who endure all things with peace,
for you will crown them with an eternal crown.

Be praised, my Lord,
by our sister bodily death,
which no mortal can escape.
Woe to those who die in mortal sin;
but blessed are those you find according to your holy will,
for a second death will not harm them.

How much are you actually able to understand/"feel" this, John?
Does it even make sense to you?

Quincy:
So how do you think you'll be saved if you don't believe and don't belong to the one true—the Orthodox Church?
My heritage is Catholic.
That doesn't make Orthodoxy any less valid (or vice versa).
Apparently, sticking to your own spiritual roots is considered a flaw on this subforum.

I wonder what kind of person I'd have to be to be accepted or "verified"?
Something impersonal and "free-spirited"?
What kind of kid is this guy, anyway? Can someone explain it to me...!?
Just so I can finally see where I'm going wrong.
