I’m losing my mind here. I ended up filling out forms 2 and 3 by hand, and tomorrow... I'm heading straight to the service window...

How did it turn out?
I have to admit, even for me, the wait times for those applications to process can feel quite excessive... 🙄

At the service window, everything went perfectly smooth... changed my info and filed the paperwork in all of 34 seconds...

That’s my plan from now on...

Whatever I absolutely have to do through the online portal, fine, I'll do it just because it's mandatory... but anything else that doesn't require it? I'm doing it on paper. You can take that "digital revolution" and shove it... as for Medicare, I'm handling everything in person at the office... let those clerks earn their paycheck like the rest of us hard-working Americans... nobody's fooling me...😁

So, if April 10th is officially the final day of a three-year maternity leave—per the formal paperwork—and there's already been a verbal agreement that the job ends once that period wraps up, would a mutual separation agreement actually be dated for that specific day?

So, I dropped off my power of attorney for the online Medicare portal at the local office back on April 9th. By the 15th, I got an email notification saying my documentation was all cleared and ready for pre-activation—so, when does the online service actually kick in?
Every time I ask, they just give me the runaround—they claim they have no idea when the digital service will be live and tell me I might as well just show up in person at a branch. Honestly, it feels like even the staff doesn't know if my access has been activated or not.
The thing is, I really don't want to trek down to a physical office if I can avoid it; it’s not exactly right around the corner from me, and I’m trying to get everything handled from my home office.
I'm wondering if this is some sort of versioning conflict—whenever I launch their SuperJam client and log in using my security key, it says "Connection Successful," but then as soon as it tries to pull up any data, the window snaps shut and throws a "Connection Terminated" error. If anyone here has dealt with this, could you let me know if that means my account is actually active and I'm just dealing with some glitchy software—maybe a Java issue or some weird driver mismatch—or does it mean the service hasn't actually been provisioned yet?

In my experience, they haven't activated you yet. The fastest turnaround I've seen so far was about 30 days.
Regarding enrollments and cancellations—they were processing April 15th applications today (I actually got an email response asking why I’d been waiting 10 days for my paperwork). Since it's already been 16 hours and my April 15th filing still isn't processed, I’m guessing it won't be handled until Monday. That would bring it to exactly 13 days. Long live "e."

Thanks a million. Honestly, this whole situation is just a mess—my access to the CDC website was up and running the very same day, but as for Medicare... I’m honestly speechless.
I just sent them a formal complaint. I made it pretty clear that if we're expected to follow those eight-day rules, then they need to hold themselves to that same standard on their end. It's only fair.
I know deep down that won't actually speed things up, but they really ought to hear how much this is messing with us.

I have two outstanding claims filed with Medicare regarding employees who started back on April 12, 2014... they still haven't been processed... it is quite frankly appalling.

Has anyone else tried submitting claims through the Medicare website? I can't get my attachments to upload for the life of me.

Just strip any special characters—you know, those weird symbols—from the file names or the folders you’re trying to upload.

Heads up, everyone! I was stuck in the same endless waiting game, so I finally called them—only to have the clerk tell me they’d already emailed the processed filings over a week ago. Problem is, I never saw a damn thing. She had to read the whole email out to me just to prove it existed.

Double-check your inbox so you aren't sitting there waiting while they sit there thinking they've already cleared you.

Does anyone have an update on the current processing speeds for the Medicare website?
My last few claims were submitted toward the end of March—back when everything was still moving quite efficiently; social security updates were instantaneous, and health insurance claims took just a few days at most.
However, I’ve noticed a significant slowdown starting in early April—and frankly, I am going to need those processed very soon.

Does the M3P process apply when you're just extending a fixed-term contract? And what about health insurance? Or do they just draft a new agreement without making any changes to the benefits and coverage?

You just sign a new contract—there is no need to make any changes to your Social Security or health insurance status.

Thanks for that. Regarding the processing back in April—I had one cancellation and one enrollment where the CDC website handled everything within the same day, but Medicare didn't get me activated until April 29th after a 20-day wait. Not that it mattered much, since I'd already finished all my paperwork manually by then.

My pension paperwork is still being processed, and I think I only have about eight days left on my Medicare coverage, right?

Is anyone else having trouble with the online health portal today? I keep getting hit with a "Server not responding" error. I went ahead and renewed my digital certificates since they had expired, but now I’m stuck. Not sure if the issue is on my end or if the system is just down.

Does anyone happen to know what else I need to do to get this electronic health portal actually working?
I finally received my activation email today (after waiting 40 days!) so I could start using the system. I went ahead and installed the SuperJ Client, and it seems to initiate the connection to "healthcare.gov:443" perfectly fine—it even says "connection successful"—but then, three seconds later, the server just stops responding.
There isn't any option to select certificates or anything similar. The instructions are incredibly sparse, offering nothing beyond basic app usage.
If anyone has any insight into what’s required, please let me know, because trying to reach them over the phone is... well, you can imagine.

Honestly, dealing with these digital certificates, Java updates, and all the other bureaucratic nonsense like e-customs feels like a losing battle. It's as if we're expected to be IT experts just to navigate basic services.

Same here. Like Sean Kelly8 mentioned earlier, it's not working for me either and I'm getting the exact same error message. In the past, their app was mostly functional. Sure, it would glitch occasionally, but they'd usually fix the bugs within the day. But today? It's been stuck on the same error for me since this morning.

Honestly, this whole situation is just pure madness. It feels like every single government agency is busy developing its own separate "must-have" app, leaving us citizens to figure out the mess ourselves...
The level of organization is practically nonexistent, and don't even get me started on the customer support or the impossible deadlines they set...
Poor, disorganized USA.gov
