This person has two separate properties and a Congressional pension to cover their mortgage. Naturally, instead of selling one of those two homes—because heaven forbid, apparently bricks are more precious than human health—they'll just call a reporter and beg for money through the news.
This is what we call a public appeal— After that, the donations started rolling in.
When someone says, "I have real estate and a government pension, but I still need your cash," it’s not going to move many people.
I truly wish him the best with his health, but let's be real: the guy is wealthier than I am.
