Raymond Martinez10 said:And look, just like I noted in the accounting PDF—even if the taxpayer ended up with a loss, you can't just leave the advance payment field blank for the next tax period. You have to enter a non-zero value, so go with 0.01 🙂
It’s what happens when IT guys try to get "creative" with the code

I just leave it as 0. I get a warning when I try to print the confirmation, basically telling me it might be 0 because blah, blah, blah...
The warning doesn't bother me since the form still goes through. I'm reporting the actual numbers, so honestly, blame whoever wants to blame me. 😁

Sam Wells5 said:Look, Raymond Martinez10, I totally get what you're saying, but honestly, when the lady at the IRS tells me exactly how to fill out my paperwork, I just don't have the nerve to argue or do it any other way.🙄

I just list my LLC name—which is basically just my own name. 😉

But I’m looking at the IRS portal right now, and the checkbox situation is just bizarre. You can either check the box next to the business name or the one by your legal name, but the system won't let you select both at once. It's incredibly clunky. Anyway, I'll just check my name, fill everything out, and hit submit. 🤷

There’s zero option on the IRS portal for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce dues form.
Is this just some massive glitch where nobody's sending them anymore, or are people straight up just stopping their payments?

You don't even have the forestry tax forms—so you're just paying them blindly 😉

Yeah, but we never even covered the totals form during our training at the FBI.
We did go over it for the US Chamber of Commerce, though, right?
How are they supposed to know what this year's advance payment looks like? I need to send them something. But how and where am I even supposed to do that?
It used to be right there on the old IRS site, don't you remember?

At the same time, I’m weighing the contributions made to the US Chamber of Commerce, much like fadedmoose4.

In 2012, those dues were calculated based on 2010 revenue, right? The IRS pulls that number straight from the 2010 sales tax filings. My contact at the IRS was consistently billing us for those dues every month throughout 2012 using that 2010 income data—applying one rate for January and February, then switching to another rate for the rest of the year—since they already knew exactly what we owed. But I’m wondering: is there actually a year-end form that needs to be filed? It seems redundant to submit anything when there's zero guesswork involved; the 2010 revenue figures have been set in stone for ages. I can't find any mention of a specific form or even a deadline for submission. And if you tell me one does exist, how would they even calculate an annual effective rate given that the rates shifted during the year?
These aren't really meant for this specific thread, but since you all opened the door, I figured I'd jump in with a quick recap. Sorry about that.

I seriously can't believe they're actually gonna let them handle their own US Chamber of Commerce dues.

I don't actually file any formal settlements with the US Chamber of Commerce or the FBI... I just run the numbers myself and settle up... same goes for the taxes, I just calculate everything and send it over... anyway, I finally got that VAT return submitted after support told me I had to put a dash in the notes field.

What kind of criticism are we talking about here? 🤔

Just put a dash—you know, like a minus sign—in the Notes field and it'll work fine. 🙂

I didn't quite catch what you meant there. Thank god all my forms actually went through once I stopped messing around with that dropdown menu 😬
Well, that’s one more for the list. Thanks 🙂

Does anyone know which email address I should use to reach technical support?

edit: Okay, I just found it myself. It turns out they actually listed the wrong email in their own instructions... they wrote e-tax@irs.gov instead of eporezna@...

So I found out today that I can just send over the balance sheet and the GDP figures to the IRS... I actually called up the local branch to see if they'd even bother with these forms if the numbers weren't huge... turns out they will... apparently they haven't been told specifically not to accept them, but honestly, they don't really care about the scale... they just want those three-digit figures on the page... anyway...

Can I ask you something real quick? Why exactly are you sending the balance sheet and income statement to the FBI?

My sales tax filing failed today, which reminded me of this trick—and it worked. Thanks 😳
I have no clue why they let them slide through without it before, and honestly, I don't care. As long as the IRS stays off my back, I'm happy. 🤣

I’m currently trying to file an IRS form, but every single time I finish signing it, the system just kicks me right back to the main landing page on Regis. It’s incredibly frustrating because the form doesn't actually get processed, so it never even shows up on my list of submitted documents. I tried reaching out to the finance helpdesk for some assistance, but I can't get anyone on the line since all their phone lines are constantly busy. I did send them an email a few days back, and they were actually pretty quick to call me the very next day asking me to forward over a log from the Java console, but honestly, I haven't heard a peep from them since then...

Where am I supposed to find the actual certificate name required for the IRS portal? The instructions say it should look something like Pero Perić 1234.1.1.5, but all I see on my end is just my Name and Surname 🙂

Can someone give me a quick, step-by-step rundown on how to get this Bloomberg/tax portal stuff actually working?

All I got from the provider was this gray USB stick and a single email containing some decryption PIN. Honestly, I’m completely lost, and trying to reach anyone via their support line is a total dead end—I can't get through to a soul!

I downloaded the certificates from the email they sent, but that's about as far as I got since there wasn't an installation disc included. I tried following the basic prompts—checked that Windows is updated, made sure Java is running,
BUT BEYOND THAT, I AM TOTALLY CLUELESS. 🤷
-Do I need to physically show up at the IRS office first to register, or can I just handle everything online through the tax portal?
And which PIN am I supposed to be using? The email gave me one, but the USB stick came with a different one!
-Also, does it matter if I log in through the Bloomberg interface versus the direct tax portal menu?
If someone could just walk me through the process step-by-step, I would really appreciate it... I'm struggling here.
