I usually just try switching over to a few different browsers if one isn't cooperating. 🙂 I'll test out Chrome or maybe Firefox—though, naturally, it’s never once worked for me in Opera.

Is anyone else running into this same headache?
I’m doing everything by the book using IE, so it recognizes my digital certificate, I punch in my PIN, and then... nothing. Absolutely nothing. It just sits there on the landing page like it's frozen in time. 😕
I’ve already cleared out all my cookies, and I'm running genuine Windows on this machine. My card reader is working perfectly fine, too.
I honestly have no clue what the issue is. 🤷
Up until today, I’ve had zero problems accessing the IRS portal from this exact computer.

-Before you try logging in, look at the top left of the page and select Tools/Compatibility view (just a quick left-click)
-Now, try logging in.
(If the "Compatibility view" option is greyed out, you'll need to go into Compatibility view settings, paste the application's URL into the address field, click Add, and then follow the steps above again.)

Now that I’ve finally been issued a new initial PIN, I find myself wondering: should I be using this new one exclusively? Specifically, when the system prompts me to sign an official document—which happens quite frequently—am I supposed to input this new PIN, or should I revert to the previous one?

Maybe you installed a newer version of java, which is causing the glitch (or maybe you're stuck with an outdated one).

I’ve never had any trouble filing forms through the IRS portals or the state tax sites before, but now I'm trying to submit an R-Sm form through the electronic registry and I keep getting hit with this error:
ClassNotFoundException
hr.fina.eRegos.digsig.applet.DsigApplet.class
Look, I'll be the first to admit I'm not exactly some IT wizard when it comes to computer stuff. If anyone knows what's causing this headache or how to actually fix it, I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks in advance.
