I'm using Internet Explorer, and everything was working perfectly until now. I haven't changed a single setting, so I have no idea why this is happening all of a sudden (except for the fact that I can't access the PK system at all).

David Parker44 said:She called me... things have been rough lately... so I need to get this sorted out... basically, I just resubmit the corrected PD like I did the first time, right? I turned my stuff in by the end of the first month... and they're only just now processing it...

Wait, is the timing issue on your end or theirs? I had a few clients where the period on the PDU was based on the official Secretary of State filings (which were set up last year), but the office entered the date people actually showed up instead of what was on the legal docs—so the system kept rejecting it.

I pushed them to fix it because it would mean a bigger down payment for my clients—since the date falls after the 15th—but at first, they gave me all kinds of excuses about how "it's not possible" or "it's too complicated." So, I told them to send me a formal written request for the change just so I'd have paper trail coverage for why I was adjusting the dates. And wouldn't you know it? As soon as I asked for that, they magically made it happen... sure, I can get it done, but I'm not about to let them push me around.

It’s a mess for me because my LLC was officially registered on January 2nd or 3rd, but I listed the start date as January 1st. She told me her computer wouldn't accept it... said I have to fix the error and resubmit everything.

Some random toolbar or spyware must have crawled onto your system and messed with your settings... just wipe out all those toolbars... use Revo Uninstaller and be done with it.

Has anyone else run into a situation like this? I submitted my PDU back on April 30th and have the receipt to prove it. Today, an agent calls me claiming she doesn't have the form and says we never filed. I faxed her the confirmation receipt, and even though she eventually saw that we did submit the application, she claims it isn't showing up in the system at all. On my end, everything looks perfectly fine—I can see the filing, all the attachments, and the status is listed as "in progress." I could even print it out if needed. What should my next move be, and who is the right person to contact? She mentioned that out of all her clients, ours and one other are the only ones missing from her view.🤷

I went through something similar ages ago with an ID form.
Once I faxed over the proof of submission, the agent handled the rest themselves—eventually, they located the form within the system. I didn't have to escalate it or call anyone else to resolve it.
Ultimately, this shouldn't be your burden to carry; it is entirely their responsibility to fix their own data entry errors.

I know I’m not the one at fault here, but our point of contact is being a bit much. I sent an email over to the IRS, so if someone gets back to me in a day or two, great—if not, I’ll just tell her I’m dropping by the office in person to handle it myself since I’ve already done my part.

Honestly, this entire IRS e-filing system is an absolute disaster. I submit my tax forms along with all the necessary supporting documentation—the balance sheets, the schedules, you name it—and yet, despite the system confirming everything was sent successfully, those bureaucrats on the other end act as if they’ve seen nothing.

I try submitting them a second time, only to run headfirst into the exact same wall. Everything worked perfectly last year, so what changed?
What is the point of even having such a digital infrastructure if they can't actually see the attachments we provide? 🤣

It’s the same story here; my filing didn't even register, let alone the attachments. I emailed tech support and they had the nerve to tell me they could see the form, asking for my agent's info... meanwhile, I just coordinated with my agent to resubmit, and this time it actually went through. Still, I ended up having to hand-deliver all the physical attachments anyway. Honestly, I'm thinking about skipping the scanning process entirely next year since I'll probably have to walk down to the local IRS office regardless.

It is utterly pointless. Instead of making any actual progress, these institutions are regressing to such a pathetic degree that they can't even view their own uploaded files.

Are you guys still paying extra for those third-party filing services for the DMV?
I’ve been thinking about canceling my subscription for a few months now, but I just haven't had the chance because things have been so hectic lately. We finally got all our paperwork aligned and updated, so honestly, I don't think I even need those extra authorizations anymore.

As an accounting firm, I went ahead and revoked the power of attorney for all my small business clients at the IRS
since there’s simply no reason to keep paying those monthly fees. However, I made sure to keep the corporations active to ensure they stay compliant with public filings and federal reporting requirements.

The IRS hasn't cleared anything for anyone (not for any of my clients, anyway), but City Hall finished everything ages ago. When you're checking your submitted forms, there's a "refresh status" button—just click that. It might tell you it's still being processed, but if you hit refresh, it should update to "processed" once it actually goes through.

Hey, did anyone else get a notification on their IRS portal regarding the VAT return and Column V?
I feel a bit slow here—is it actually mandatory now to use Column V to report whether we had a refund or an amount owed from last month's filing?

It’s quite possible—the updated version of the IRS electronic filing application was released earlier today.

Oh, absolutely... I just hope Synesis handles all this through the online portal so I don't have to waste my breath on it.

I was looking into this myself and honestly, it's incredibly confusing. It seems they want us pulling data directly from the previous month's filing rather than just checking our internal ledger or tax credit accounts.

For instance, back in March, I had a $300 refund that I applied as a credit toward future payments.
Then in April, I had a total tax liability of $67, which left me with an outstanding credit of $233 on my books.

Based on these new instructions, it looks like for my May filing, I’m supposed to increase my monthly liability by $67 based on what was reported in April. But in reality, I’m actually sitting on a credit balance. I have absolutely no idea how they expect this to work in practice without everything getting completely skewed. 🤷

I honestly don't get it. What are we even supposed to do with this sales tax mess? It’s a total head-scratcher. Let’s say I was dealing with some FARC business and had $333 in prepayments—basically subscriptions—that wrapped up on March 31st. I filed my paperwork for April and ended up owing $33 in sales tax. But, because I was stuck dealing with that nightmare loan, I didn't actually pay it. So, what am I supposed to put on the May filing? Those $33 values, or the $300 ones?

Actually, it kind of makes sense to me. Look, if you owe sales tax but you’re broke and don't pay, the IRS ledger automatically shows a balance plus late fees, right? But those penalties don't go on your tax form. You just report the actual state of your own accounting books and call it a day.
I never used the IRS ledger balance anyway; I always just used the balance from my general ledger accounts depending on whether it was a refund or a liability.

If there were any late fees, I’d just clear them against the IRS ledger when I did year-end closing on December 31st—you know, during that whole asset and liability inventory we have to do per the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

I think I finally figured out where I messed up. In Q3, I had a credit of $300, but I just let it sit there like some sort of prepayment.

Then in Q4, I had a liability of $67. I didn't pay anything because I already had a $900.00 credit, but I failed to list that credit on the form, and I didn't specify that I was holding it as a prepayment for $233. Now, it looks like I'm going to have to file an amended sales tax return for Q4 to show the credit before I can even submit the one for Q5.
