Douglas Nguyen30 said:Hi everyone! Can I just upload everything as a single PDF along with my balance sheet and income statement? I'm looking to include the tax return attachments, the detailed ledger printouts from my accounting software, the VAT breakdown, and the local chamber of commerce fees (since I'm an LLC owner), or do I actually have to drop those off in person? 🙂
Thanks, everyone!

You can actually attach pretty much anything as a PDF supplement. Any supporting documentation you would normally hand over physically can be uploaded. This includes letters, detailed explanations, or even a massive 100-page gross balance sheet if necessary—anything goes. 😉
The only thing is, could someone confirm how things work with KFC? I don't deal with profitable sole proprietorships, so I haven't had to file this way before.

Are they actually asking you for a gross balance sheet along with your sales tax filing? I’ve never once been asked to submit a gross balance sheet alongside my sales tax returns...

I'm feeling a little indecisive here—should I just hit accept, or is it safer to decline this one?

I usually just ignore all those updates until something actually breaks—only then do I bother installing them. I used to be one of those people who clicked "accept" immediately, and man, did that cause me headaches... constant uninstalling, reinstalling, troubleshooting, you name it...

Not me either, until last year... It’s like, who knows what kind of criteria they're using? For example, back in 2012, they requested it for one business but didn't bother asking for another, even though it was the exact same IRS agent. Who can say for sure?🤷

And apparently, these recruiters can't even read a balance sheet. 🙂 🙂 😂

I was reading somewhere that if you've already submitted your Balance Sheet and Income Statement to the Financial Agency for public record and statistics, you don't actually have to send those same documents to the IRS. Does that mean I can skip sending that confirmation from the agency showing everything was filed correctly and is all set?

Take a look at what’s listed on the IRS website here:
http://www.irs.gov/publications/tax-filing-guidelines...aspx?id=18909

...3. Attachments for the tax return

The following should be attached to the tax return:
- financial statements: the Balance Sheet and the Income Statement for 2013 (unless they were already submitted to the IRS within the required deadlines) ...

Under Article 46, Clause 5 of the Regulations, it states that any Balance Sheet or Income Statement submitted within the required timeframe to the Financial Agency for statistical or other regulatory purposes is considered officially submitted alongside the corporate tax return, per Article 35, Clause 6 of the law and Clause 2 and 4 of the aforementioned Regulations. However, please keep in mind that the IRS still reserves the right to request a copy of the Balance Sheet and Income Statement with your tax return, regardless of whether they've already been sent over to the Financial Agency.

- Does anyone know if Chamber of Commerce filings for profitable companies can also be done via PDF? Thanks!

Totally.

Just pick the tax form option from the list of attachments and upload your signed PDF. It works like a charm!

Wait, I thought we weren't supposed to be sending the KFC stuff?

P.S. My decisions, for instance, never get "certified" and they go through just fine... I'm assuming the certification is digital—like an electronic signature covering the whole report—so I don't really see the point in this extra, old-school layer of verification.😉

We're talking about the Chamber of Commerce fees for small business owners who pay corporate tax.

As for the verification thing, everyone at the IRS or local agencies seems to have a different opinion on it, but personally, I’d much rather see the owner or director's signature on the annual filing instead of just some random "sender's" signature. 😉

So, does that mean corporations have to pay the Chamber fee too?

Everything is digital now anyway—you just use an e-signature, so most of this feels redundant. If you're running a service business, your contract already covers the authorization for that kind of verification, right?☕

So, how does one actually file an amended corporate income tax return?

The process is essentially identical to submitting your initial Democratic Party filing—though, I would strongly suggest calling your local IRS agent first to give them a heads-up.
Last year, I had to file an amendment just a few days after the April 30th deadline; since the Democratic Party hadn't finished processing everything yet, I didn't need to provide any additional supporting documentation alongside the correction.
Whether you will be required to provide a detailed explanation is somewhat unpredictable—it really depends on the specific agent handling your case.

She called me... things have been rough lately... so I need to get this sorted out... basically, I just resubmit the corrected PD like I did the first time, right? I turned my stuff in by the end of the first month... and they're only just now processing it...

If you aren't planning on calling the caseworker again, your best bet might be to include a formal letter alongside the new form. You could explain exactly why you're submitting a correction—specifically citing the error regarding the period recorded on the Democratic Party filing sent on that particular date.
Have the letter notarized and send it over as a PDF attachment along with the Democratic Party paperwork.

Hey, has anyone else run into issues trying to open their PDU card?
The forms seem to be processing just fine, and I’m getting confirmations for previous submissions without any trouble, but the cards themselves won't budge...
Instead of my dashboard, I just get this landing page that looks like a generic search bar—sort of like what you'd see on CNN, PayPal, or Gmail. What exactly am I looking at here?

It’s working fine on my end... it's just a standard pop-up window. If you've got some kind of ad blocker running, that might be what's messing things up. Which browser are you using?
