neongull81 said:I mean, there are plenty of reasons for it, including needing to cover massive amounts of sales tax during the summer months, so I just let those payments come out of the subscription instead. And honestly, I quit my job six months ago, so I’m really hoping this is finally the last tax form I ever have to deal with and that I won't have to care what they do with the subscription anymore. 🤣

Aha! Okay, that actually makes sense.
It just doesn't make any sense that nobody can give you a straight answer, though.
I can't tell if your account rep is one of the younger ones too. Mine is, and my wife ends up totally baffled by them constantly. But hey, at least she’s learned how to loop us in with the senior advisors who actually know what they're doing. 😁

You don't have to just sit there and take it. Why not report the code of conduct violation? They are expected to maintain professionalism. Speak up instead of staying silent and suffering through it—that’s how you actually see things change. This kind of mindset is just a relic of old-school collectivism bleeding into today's 😁

Honestly, I don’t even have much to complain about. For real. Their setup now is just one lead coordinator (this young girl) and then two others handling the specifics—one for sales tax and another for corporate and income tax.
Everything funnels through this lead, who, let’s be honest, hasn't a clue what she's doing, so she just acts as a middleman to patch us up with the actual specialists.
It’s all by the book, sure, but man... it’s such a massive headache for something so simple. 😵

When I fill out my sales tax forms, I only include the credit from the most recent filing—not the whole accumulated amount.

Earlier this year, I tried to roll over some accumulated sales tax credits into my corporate income tax.

I went down to the IRS office with my paperwork from back in 2015—including the request for the rollover and the adjustment voucher—and they told me to just resubmit the last sales tax return. They said to mark it as a refund request instead of a credit, and to only report the amount from that final filing regardless of the total credit, and then they’d handle the rest.

Fast forward thirty days, and they notify me that the refund was approved, but they haven't done the rollover at all... so I head back there, and the clerk tells me the check is being mailed tomorrow. I'm like, "Wait, what? We asked for a rollover, not a check!" She just shrugs and asks why I marked it as a refund in the first place. 🤣

Well, I told her, "That's exactly what you guys told me to do!" So she calls someone into the room where I originally filed (it was a total mess there after the new administration took over), and suddenly she realizes, "Oh, okay, everything is fine, we'll do the rollover." 😁

Honestly, it feels like half these agents don't have a clue what they're doing...

Man, we were playing total ping-pong with this one too. On the phone, they tell me one thing, then I follow through, and suddenly they're asking for something totally different via email. Then they pass me off to some supervisor who wants a third option entirely, and I'm still sitting here waiting on a reply to my last message.

I really hope they roll out some kind of online form for these reversal requests soon. That might actually fix half these headaches. Just a solid digital form plus the right attachments and you're done.
Right now, I’ve got a bunch of small business owners who paid or overpaid their taxes based on old notices (even after we sent them constant reminders), so now I have to manually write up and file a request for every single one of them.

Does anyone have any idea why my monthly membership dues for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce $14 aren't showing up on the IRS portal yet...?!

Back in 2016, they were booking liabilities for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce dated December 2015. Seems like a bit of a mess to me, since they were already recording those same December 2015 liabilities during the 2015 fiscal year too. How are you guys handling your coding?

It's the exact same thing over here 🙄

Hey everyone, did you catch what happened over on the IRS portal regarding that U.S. Chamber of Commerce membership prepayment 01?
The posting date says April 7, 2016, but the actual payment currency date was back on February 1, 2016...
I honestly had no clue that starting this year, healthcare facilities paying corporate income tax would also be on the hook for those U.S. Chamber of Commerce dues...

Man, they’re really staying on top of things.
I remember hearing people say that LLCs would start paying $14 starting this year.

I can't even check my status right now because the IRS site is telling me my certificate has been revoked!!!
Is anyone else having issues?
The EPA site seems to be working fine for me though.

Edit: turns out it works if I use Internet Explorer.
Yeah, they hit me with charges for all my LLCs and those non-profit schools too.

Yeah, I caught onto that today too—my clients are absolutely thrilled 👎, if you consider "reducing the burden on small businesses" a joke...

Oh, and by the way—the identification number for LLCs is now the same as for standard corporations... it’s using the middle code 002 instead of the old 005 from last year...

Same here—my certificate isn't working on Google Chrome, only Explorer... getting the exact same error message as you... it's not an issue with FINRA like they claim, it's just more nonsense from the IRS people...

It actually happened to me on Explorer, too—so I pulled my card out and shoved it back in, and lo and behold, suddenly it's no longer revoked.🙂

Hey, quick question—when’s the actual deadline to go public with this report? Is it April 30th or June 30th, 2016?? My colleague, who runs the accounting department here, told me we have four months, but then I checked the Goldman Sachs site and it says June 30th at the latest.

Hey, maybe tell your accounting lead to double-check those facts... you don't want bad info floating around. Public filings are due by June 30th.

Thanks. So, does the corporate income tax filing and everything else—like those timber lease fees and stuff—all go in with that same deadline?

Nah. The public announcement is still pending.
The deadlines for filing corporate income tax (IRS), tourism fees (tax authorities), and forestry reports (USDA) are all coming up on April 30th.

I'm thinking they might sync everything up to a single April 30th deadline next year, but I haven't had a chance to dive deep into the fine print yet :campanac:

One more thing—the GFI stats need to be submitted to the IRS, and the deadline is March 31st.

If the audited financial statements, including all the supporting notes and official decisions, are submitted to the IRS by March 31st—whether that's through the digital portal or via hard copies, potentially with a follow-up from $77—what exactly is still being processed for public release leading up to June 30th?
Basically, I'm trying to wrap my head around the distinction here: what is the actual difference between the documentation filed with the IRS by the March 31st deadline versus the formal public disclosure window that closes on June 30th?
