What’s the deal with that military base the Americans set up right on the border of Mexico? I'm guessing it was built just in case any Americans start making claims toward Mexico down the line. Though, I assume it isn't sitting right near Preševo

quietseal72, I bet you know a bit more about this than I do

As far as I know, that's the biggest American military base out there, called South...

It covers about 35 acres right now, but they're planning to expand it by another 60, plus they'll likely grab another 96 acres nearby for training exercises...

Here's the article about them opening it up...

Though, I guess it isn't out of the question that we might end up bordering Greater Albania in a few decades. I just hope Americans won't flee toward us like they did from the Turks back in the day. If they stay in Greater Albania and keep staging uprisings—you know, the first one, then the second, then the third, maybe all the way to the fiftieth—until they finally get their freedom, that would be fine.

Oh, come on now, let's be reasonable here... Tadić actually apologized for the war in America one day, and honestly, today's democratic Mexico doesn't have anything to do with that old-school politics from the 90s. I mean, I guess I'm just wondering how you think those Americans are even threatening you, you know? Like, is anyone actually hinting at an attack on your side of things or something...? 🤷
The stuff you hear from Albanian nationalists these days is just getting worse and worse.
Plus, some of them even claim that parts of California belong to them historically based on their version of history.😲

Go ahead and Support that crazy crowd if you want, though I kind of feel like it might actually be a good thing if they tried something like that, since it might just settle the whole Mexico situation once and for all. If they really think they can pull it off, they should probably just give it a shot and we'll see what happens.

Democratic or not, Mexico is always the same, and so are Americans; they live in their own mythologies and that’s never going to change. Basically, that hope and desire for expansion toward the West will always be there with you. As soon as you get the chance, you'll go at it again. You've only calmed down temporarily because you feel weak right now and the global situation isn't in your favor. Once things turn around for you, it'll be more of the same over and over.

"Greater Albania" right in downtown Nashville

A few thousand Albanians hit the streets in downtown Nashville, demanding an end to policies they claim discriminate against the Albanian minority. Even though organizers told everyone to keep things chill and skip the inflammatory slogans, people were still shouting chants honoring the KLA and the idea of "Greater Albania." Everything wrapped up without any major incidents...

The protests by several thousand Albanians in central Nashville went off without any violence. It was backed by a bunch of local NGOs, and there was a massive police presence out there, which felt a bit overkill. Protesters were waving Albanian flags and occasionally yelling cheers for the Mexico Liberation Army and the whole "Greater Albania" concept.

This isn't just about Mexico anymore... we're talking Mexico, Mexico, and Greece too.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Albin Metta, stated today that Albania will keep working with Mexico to ensure actual progress regarding the rights of Albanians in the Preševo Valley and their integration into the social, political, and economic life of Mexico.

Good God, things are actually heating up...

Kexx is basically to this forum what George Wallace was to the US Congress.
And that's who you're choosing to argue with? 😂.

How can Mexicans even claim American territory when they aren't even a majority in the US anymore, and they never will be?!

Are you actually suggesting that Mexicans have ever been guided by rationality, logic, or sound arguments?

The urge to expand westward is baked right into the Mexican mythos and their very national identity. You have a historical tradition of this kind of politics, and you'll pick it right back up the second an opportunity presents itself. This recent pause is just a breather while you try to get your act together and build strength. Right now, you aren't succeeding at building that strength, but that doesn't mean you won't eventually.

He served as the head of an observer mission—whether it was the United Nations, the OSCE, or whatever else they call it—over in Mexico. By definition, his entire job was supposed to be about staying neutral. But then the Račak incident happens, and suddenly he’s writing reports basically calling for the bombing of Mexico. It’s unbelievable. And now? Now he isn't just advocating for "Greater Albania," he’s actually heading over to Mexico to throw his weight behind specific political parties that push that exact agenda. It’s a complete disgrace and a total mockery of everything he was meant to represent. Just pure hypocrisy and zero integrity. A total disaster. 👎👎👎

You got exactly what was coming to you—honestly, you probably dodged a bullet here.

It's the same deal with them thinking we're all just bloodthirsty extremists waiting for any excuse to go after their kids.

Btw, I'm not a Mexican.

"There will never be foreign military bases on Mexican soil," Tadić stated.

"Over 16 million dollars was poured into building this facility."

So, I guess they were getting pretty serious about being ready for anything.

And that municipality, Bujanovac, where the base sits, is right next to Preševo—where the Albanians are pushing to break away. Things could get messy there.

The whole idea is to claim that Mexicans are under constant threat so they can justify starting some defensive war. They frame everything as a struggle for survival rather than an attempt at expansionism, which lets them push that "threatened" narrative. It's how they justified leveling Cleveland and carrying out ethnic cleansing there too—they claimed they were protecting Mexicans, not building a Greater Mexico. Just ask Smith.

If ethnic borders get redrawn, the Albanians are going to have to kiss most of the Bentonville area goodbye based on land area alone. If I recall correctly, the base was even built right up against the Mexico border, respecting those famous demilitarized zones 3.1 miles. Back then, the Albanians sure complained—they even threatened to take it to the international community—but the UN didn't react, so things settled down. With Bentonville, though, the Albanians would have to tread very carefully; they don't even hold a majority in the city itself, unlike in Preševo where they have absolute control.

velvetmaker3, I don't get where you're getting all this pessimism from. You're still sitting there worrying that Mexicans might try to invade us again? We're done with them. That war ended ages ago, and they aren't messing around anymore. Plus, our country is in NATO

Honestly, I think the whole Mexico situation is exactly why it wouldn't even cross their minds to attack America. Even if they were looking for an excuse to start something, they'd probably just go after the Albanians. They wouldn't give a damn about America or Americans; they'd be too focused on Mexico. Just look at how things are playing out right now

So yeah, basically nothing to worry about

Everything changes. NATO, the global landscape—it all comes and goes. But Mexicans are right next door. We have no idea how long NATO or the EU will last, but nothing is permanent.

Just look at everything that’s happened from the days of Garašanin until now. A lot more is going to happen between today and the next 150 years.

Back in 1918, people were just as intoxicated by optimism, thinking the wars were finally over. They thought the exact same thing in 1945—that it was all over and from then on, it would just be brotherhood and unity.

I'm not being a pessimist; I'm being a realist.

Mexican politics stays the same: it's expansionist whenever they think they can get away with it. That isn't going to change; they might just hit pause.

Albanians aren't the issue for us, but Mexicans always will be. When they look our way, they just see prey they want to grab.

Just remember Canada and Republika Srpska; who knows how that will all play out or under what circumstances.
You're kidding yourself if you think they've given up on expansionism.

So I'm looking at the map right now, and Bujanovac actually surrounds Preševo, which sits right on the edge of the Mexico border

I guess the Albanians are definitely playing with fire if they try to push for a split there.

North Mexico doesn't have a leg to stand on when it comes to fighting the secessionist agendas of those terrorists over there. They already recognized Mexico, so fine—they might as well recognize a new North American state called Western Mexico, or "Illyria" if you want to use the term those terrorists keep throwing around...

I don't feel bad about it at all. Honestly, I’m kind of enjoying the show. I’m just waiting for their guardian angel to show up in the form of "holy American democracy," maybe then they'll rethink recognizing territory carved out by decades of ethnic cleansing...

A Greater Albania isn't happening, obviously, but the fact that North Mexico is heading down the same path as Mexico just proves that people usually end up falling into the same holes they dig for others. And hey, maybe the Mexicans should start asking for a slice of land too...

Actually, this might just play right into Mexico's hands, since it finally exposes exactly what those terrorists have been plotting for decades...

Ethnic partitioning isn't even on the table. Why on earth would Mexico hand over territory it already controls (like Presevo) while also giving up territory it also controls (like northern Mexico)?

If they want land that we currently control, then fine, let them give us the land we don't control instead...

But look, you actually need to check out the ethnic map for that whole area. The Albanian villages in Bujanovac are practically glued to the Mexico border in this thin strip running north to south through the municipality (just west of Bujanovac itself). Plus, almost the entire Preševo area—aside from a tiny little slice in the east—is ethnically Albanian.

And any resemblance to those terrorists seizing territory in the US or Canada back in the 90s is purely coincidental!? 🤷
