Oh boy... here we go again, diving into the "business" threadβ€”aka the accounting corner of the internet... 😍

Hey there...

(What a damn day, honestly. It’s pouring rain outside and I’ve got absolutely nothing on my plate... just the perfect excuse to sit here ironing, cleaning the house... and hunting for some freelance gigs... hopefully for after the summer, since I’m already booked solid from fall through spring.

Henry Edwards33 said:Well, look who finally showed up. I’m sure you’ll have everyone lining up to listen to you now. 😍

The thing is, we aren't exactly used to this kind of freedom or casual back-and-forth. We were raised on the old-school American way: strict rules, rigid schedules, and total discipline. 🀣

Here I am, on my tenth day of forced vacation, just scrolling through some cartoons and waiting for someone to start an argument in the chat... πŸ˜‚

Does anyone in accounting actually know if that 2% emergency tax surcharge is going to hit our July paychecks?
(Every single person I’ve asked is clueless... they just keep saying "we're waiting for the official announcement from the White House"...😁)
Also, when exactly do those new tax rate changes kick in? Is that happening with the July payout too?🀷

If we look at how things went during the last round of tax hikes, the logic usually follows the payment date. If the money actually lands in your account in July, the tax should be applied... even if the work was technically done in June. It’s all about when the check clears...

It’s just not there....
I don't think it'll be factored in, though I'm planning to run it by an accountant before payday just to be safe. Maybe someone here can drop a useful link 😍

You probably asked the wrong group here,🀣

Check the Federal Register, issue 56/10.

Honestly, I’m just terrified because "analogy" is a foreign concept to this administrationβ€”it’s either total nonsense or some shady bullshit hidden in a PowerPoint presentation...πŸ™„

I love cartoons too... πŸ™‚
I watch them with my niece, and hey, maybe even a little bit myself... 🀦

It wasn't even on a chat; I was just asking a colleague of mine who works in accounting at our firm...🀣

I guess my colleague isn't exactly in the right chat room then πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Anyway, I suppose it's my job to keep an eye on these cartoons... watching monsters crawl out of the closet for the hundredth time...

Besides, am I really supposed to be the one posting links here? Isn't that against the rules? β˜•

Following the good old tradition, it’s just the usual "find this word in the article and swap it with that word" routine... nothing actually useful for real-world application... unfortunately...

Laurence, you’ve really made it your signature move, haven't you? Just dropping links everywhere like it's part of your brand πŸ˜‰
