What’s the deal with essence and being?
I think it makes more sense—and honestly, it's just more logical and easier to wrap your head around—to ask what the cause actually is. Because whatever lies at the core of everything is also the cause of everything. It exists before anything else, even before Jesus. Just like it exists before anything else in the world, even some random pile of trash on the side of a highway in Chicago.
That’s why, if we want to find the truth about anything that physically manifests or has any kind of characteristic, it isn't enough to just know the essence of that thing. You have to understand the essence of essence itself. In other words, you need to figure out what specific capabilities that essence *must* possess to be able to cause everything we see, because only those universal abilities can truly define its essence.
I'm going to list those capabilities right now and then I'm calling this thread done.
Essence, or "being," possesses exactly seven physical and mental capabilities. These are: exertion, movement, perception, sensation, memory, thought, and understanding.
So, now that you know which capabilities essence needs to have in order to be the cause of everything, why don't you try to figure out for yourself who or what that essence is? What is the ultimate cause?
Just one thing: please don't drag Jesus into this. He has nothing to do with it, just like you and I have nothing to do with it. Because Jesus, you, and I are all equally just consequences of essence and its physical and mental capabilities.
