My husband actually helps out quite a bit... though he can be a total stickler when it comes to things being tidy. He used to be a professional athlete, so he’s spent his whole life living by a strict routine—everything has to be orderly and done thoroughly. 👍
But don't get me wrong, he's constantly nitpicking. He'll ask why I left this here, or why I didn't iron this particular shirt, or why that's sitting there... It's endless. I do everything he asks eventually, but I am not ironing clothes every single day. I'll do it when I actually feel like it.

When it comes to food, though... 👎👎

He won't lift a finger. Honestly, he can't even manage to put dirty dishes in the dishwasher instead of just leaving them in the sink. He never helps me with that. Now that I'm pregnant, he's finally being forced to step up, but man...

I think he realizes how much of a pushover he's being 😂 so he refuses to even set foot in the kitchen... it's like that territory is completely off-limits in his mind. 🙂

Out of our entire circle of friends, we're the only ones with a house and a yard. So, whenever everyone comes over for a get-together, they naturally expect a BBQ. It’s always such a headache. I have to beg him, then argue with him, and eventually resort to threats just to get him to fire up the grill... because he just doesn't want to do it. Meanwhile, even with my pregnancy cravings and exhaustion, I can cook a massive meal for ten people without breaking a sweat.

And there's zero empathy for when I'm exhausted or in pain. But the second he has a slight fever or a stuffy nose? It's a non-stop drama all night long. He'll moan about how he won't be able to sleep tomorrow because his nose is bothering him so much that he can't rest... it's ridiculous. And

I absolutely loathe how he sleeps until 2 PM on the weekends. It drives me insane.

On the flip side, I'll give him credit for one thing: he's spotless in the bathroom. He always puts the toilet seat down after he's done and makes sure to wipe everything down if there's a mess. 😂

Every man has his flaws, but he has his virtues too.

I couldn't agree more!👍👍
We eventually learn how to live with the imperfections, but isn't it those very strengths that make us love them? 😁😁

Look, I know my man can be amazing in certain ways—like, he’s great when I just need some extra TLC and someone to look after me—but honestly, the constant home renovations are absolutely killing me. It’s been a month of this nonsense. He was supposed to have the painting finished two weeks ago, but instead, I’m still tripping over construction paper and plastic sheeting in the hallway. And now? Now he’s telling me he ran out of paint and needs a new roller... 😠 he just cannot seem to wrap this up so I can actually clean everything and just wait for the baby to arrive. 😠 I want to head to the hospital knowing my house isn't a total disaster zone 😠😠😠. Like, seriously, today instead of actually finishing, he just took a nap. 😠😠😠😠
But then, I don't know, on the flip side, he brought home that huge Ghirardelli hazelnut chocolate bar I love. I mean, it's only been two weeks since I started cutting back on sweets, but he totally caught me off guard with that one. 😍

As for me, the sugar cravings started right from the beginning. 🤣 Honestly, I'm not even sure how much of it is actually due to the pregnancy; I think I might just be telling myself it's the hormones so I don't feel so guilty about overindulging! 😁

Why don't you tell him your doctor mentioned you might go into labor earlier than expected? Maybe that'll give him the kick in the pants he needs to finish the painting! 😉

About a month ago, we started replacing the hardwood floors on the upper level of our house, which meant we were sleeping in the attic while eating downstairs. When I tried to nudge the contractors to pick up the pace, my husband insisted I back off; he argued they needed to do the job right to avoid future complaints and suggested I was overthinking things, pointing out there was plenty of room in the attic if the baby ended up staying up there with us. He even had the nerve to suggest everything didn't need to be perfectly sterile right away, despite the fact that we were living in a maze of furniture, clothes, and random clutter with absolutely nowhere to safely put a newborn 🤣 Not to mention the endless dust...

The flooring is finally finished and life has returned to some semblance of normalcy, though these guys are still helping out by unloading the dishwasher, swapping out electrical outlets, and fixing a leak in the bathroom. Today, one of them actually showed up with flowers. It’s hard not to appreciate that kind of gesture 😍

They really think we should just wait until the baby arrives before buying anything, which would be a total disaster 🙄. That’s why we don't have a stroller, crib, or changing table yet (we actually found some stuff today since I insisted we get things ready now). We do have the tiny clothes and small essentials, though.
I can't exactly imagine him managing everything alone while I'm stuck in the hospital for three days...

Ugh, give me a break. I never fell for that "don't buy anything yet" nonsense.

It’s such a stupid, outdated superstition. To me, it just sounds like:
"Don't waste money since you might not even make it through delivery."
That's probably where the idea comes from. 🤮

I bought everything ahead of time. I even put the crib together myself... haha... way to go, me. Thanks, thanks. 😍🤣

And please... honestly... my guy couldn't even manage to take a shower while I was at the hospital unless I yelled "GET IN THE SHOWER!!!!!" at him. You think he's suddenly going to magically know how to shop for all the baby gear? Lol.

I’m honestly just as excited about all the baby prep—the shopping trips, browsing through cute little outfits, and checking out all those tiny essentials 😍😍 thanks, but I definitely wouldn't trade any of it for the world..

It’s constant. Just total, non-stop exhaustion.
I’m five months into this pregnancy now, and honestly, everything just feels off. It’s not like my husband is complaining—ha, yeah, right—but I’m starting to lose my patience with it all.😠 I don't even wake up thinking about sex anymore; if we aren't making out first thing in the morning, I’m basically a zombie for the rest of the day.🙄 Then, at the very least, there’s once more in the evening 🙄 but during the day, the thought crosses my mind at least twenty times.

I’m pretty sure I’m carrying a little boy with a massive libido.☕

That was exactly how I felt during my second and third months... things have leveled out a bit for me now, though it didn't bother me one bit, 😍 and it bothered my husband even less.😂

My husband couldn't even manage to wash a single dish while I was at the hospital giving birth, let alone now that I'm back home. So, according to the logic here, I'm the "homemaker," which apparently means I have to handle everything. And I guess taking care of a newborn isn't any trouble either, right? While the baby is sleeping, I'm supposedly meant to be doing his laundry and prepping meals—even though the food just sits on the stove rotting because he refuses to eat anything that isn't freshly made just for him. It’s not like I can grab a quick bite or even just sit down for a second, because first, I have to clear the entire kitchen just so he can use it.
Give me a break! :2up:

People tried to get in my head too... telling me I was somehow inviting bad luck by having everything ready for the baby! 😲 😲

As if it would be better if I hadn't bought a single thing... so that once I leave the hospital still recovering from stitches, I have to go wandering through Target🙄, or send my husband out, only for him to come back with clothes meant for a three-year-old instead of a newborn. 😂

One person actually told me, "Why buy things when you don't even know if everything will go okay during delivery?"... excuse me? hello? If, heaven forbid, something actually does happen... I think I'd be more concerned about the money I spent than worrying about some superstition. 😲 Honestly, anyone thinking that way shouldn't even be having kids in the first place. 😲 👎

Ugh, here I am again... I probably shouldn't have even fed him since he barely finished half of it—typical, right?
And now his mother is driving me absolutely insane. Like, the second she stepped out of her SUV, she immediately made some comment about how fat I am. So, I just told her straight up that we could argue about who’s actually carrying the extra weight here—because honestly, she’s got more pounds on her than I did during my entire pregnancy—and that pregnant women generally don't appreciate being called fat. But then she tries to play it off like, "Oh, that's just how you say it," or whatever... 😈as if that makes it okay.
It really gets under my skin, I guess.

Haha, oh man, I live for comments like those—though I can only imagine how much more irritating it is when they come straight from your mother-in-law!☕

Not too long ago, a friend of mine told me, "Sorry, but you're just so funny looking... all round." I mean, what am I supposed to look like? I'm due in just a few weeks!!! And if it makes things any better, everyone else tells me I look great for someone nine months pregnant. Since I'm over eight inches taller than this friend and we weigh about the same when I'm not pregnant, I just looked at her and said, "Well, just wait until you're in my shoes!"☕

I think my husband might be the absolute gold standard for laziness. I tend to blame his mom because he was an only child, and his parents and grandma basically treated him like he was made of gold. When we first started living together, it drove me absolutely crazy; I had total nervous breakdowns over how lazy he was. I kept thinking he’d eventually change, but unfortunately, nothing ever did. Now, I just lose my mind a little less because I’ve somewhat accepted the situation. Since he barely touches the mess, if he never helps me tidy up, he can't exactly complain about whether I've cleaned, cooked, or done the laundry...🤷

Now, while I'd love for him to show me a bit more affection and care while I'm pregnant, 😉 it would be nice if he didn't just tell me how "great" things are for me now simply because I'm handling this pregnancy relatively well and getting to hang out at home all day. Yesterday, I spent two hours ironing, and my back and legs were absolutely killing me. On top of that, I wasn't feeling great earlier in the day, yet there he was, playing video games all afternoon, only to flop onto the bed and gloomily remark that I have no idea how lucky I am... oh my god!! 🙂 Well, I feel better now that I've vented. 🙂

They’re all cut from the same cloth. Mine was throwing a fit twenty minutes ago because I kept tossing and turning—my arms go numb and I can't breathe properly when I lie down, so he couldn't sleep either. Poor guy, right?

I believe things aren't easy for you, though there is nothing wrong with that...
Enjoy it while you can! 👍 We only manage to sleep together once a week because this belly makes everything so exhausting; I practically need a forklift just to change positions. 🤣

The other day I’m at the grocery store waiting at the deli counter when this woman looks at me and says, "Just a little longer, huh?" while gesturing toward my stomach. I didn't even bother responding because I don't know her. Then she just keeps going—"I had three kids, all C-sections. My first labor was a nightmare, I had stretches, then I didn't dilate for hours so they had to go in surgically, it was horrific..." 🙂 She just kept rambling...

I honestly couldn't believe it. Why on earth would you tell me this? We're total strangers and I'm literally days away from giving birth. 🙄 Imagine some random lady in a supermarket dumping her entire traumatic birth history on you. Unbelievable.
Recently, my friend's sister had her baby and it wasn't exactly an easy delivery either. I told her straight up: "Tell me everything after I actually give birth, not now. I have zero interest in hearing horror stories right before my due date."

Yeah, they’re definitely just trying to mess with us by acting like childbirth is some massive, traumatic ordeal—either they tell you how incredibly easy it was or they don't say anything at all. I mean, seriously. My coworker had her water break the other day, right? Everyone was waiting for her to go through the whole full dilation process, but she just turns to me and says she popped out a son in basically one shot. Just... easy breezy, maybe two stitches or whatever. Like, please, spare me those stories. Then there's my neighbor who went into labor, her water broke, and within two hours—before they even fully got her settled at the hospital—she was already done and delivered without a single stitch. It's ridiculous. I honestly can't stand listening to all this nonsense.

Haha, well at least they’re telling you "almost"...
Lately, people have been asking me, "So, when is the due date?" And when I tell them it's late September, they give me this look and usually follow up with, "Oh, I looked just like that when I was only five or six months along!" Then they ask, "You haven't really put on much weight, have you?" When I tell them I've gained about 25 pounds, they act surprised all over again. And honestly, my bump isn't exactly small 🙄... All these comments have actually started making me a little anxious, so I even asked my doctor during my last checkup if my bump looked appropriate for how many weeks I am. He just asked me how tall I was, and when I told him I'm 5'8", he just went, "Well, that explains everything." To stay positive, I kept telling myself that since I'm tall, the baby probably isn't huge and the delivery won't be too difficult, but at my last scan a few days ago, they estimated the baby at nearly 7 pounds—and we still have a few weeks to go ☕

I was honestly so shocked and frustrated when I was talking to my future mother-in-law about wanting an epidural. I couldn't believe she thought it was weird to even ask for one in this day and age. She just gave me this sweet, patronizing look and said, "Don't talk like that. There was once a woman who refused to go natural and insisted on a C-section because she was scared, and she couldn't even carry a pregnancy to term—she ended up with emergency surgeries where all three of her babies died." I mean, wtf... 😱🙂 I will never understand people like that!!!!!
