I truly had no intention of being provocative toward you; I am genuinely just curious, in all seriousness.

goldeneagle8, I hold a firm belief in some supreme being who brought us all into existence, yet I find the various organized religions to be utterly nonsensical. In my view, we are all fundamentally the same.
And consider this—there is that old saying derived from the Bible that physical discipline is a part of the natural order. However, I would argue that most people struggle today precisely because they were raised witnessing violence within their own homes, or perhaps they were the direct victims of it themselves.

That's not even from the Bible, that's just an old folk saying.

What do you mean?
We were taught all of this in our religion classes back in school.

Maybe, but you definitely won't find that in the Bible.

Sure, people say that, but you won't find that in the Bible. That was just something old-school grandmas cooked up because they genuinely thought hitting kids was a solid parenting strategy.

It feels like everyone’s drifted off-topic here. We have a woman facing a real crisis, yet you all seem more interested in bickering with one another. My take? You need to get away for a few days. Pack a bag, head somewhere quiet, and make it your sole mission to focus on yourself. Figure out what YOU actually want from this. Once you have that clarity, everything else tends to fall into place much easier.

I don't know if she just went off the grid or what, but she hasn't said a peep since she dropped that post. We can't really lend a hand if she isn't even around to hear us

Why should someone who finds no meaning in existence, someone for whom nothing seems to go right despite not being the cause of their own misfortune, be expected to turn to God? Is it purely because that was God's design?

Look, I don't exactly have much to say in defense of God.

What am I supposed to say? I hate my pointless life. The worst part is everyone else seems to find purpose in everything, so they don't get why I'm like this. Like, I'm "supposed" to be happy. But I'm not. I gave up on myself a long time ago just so the people around me could be okay—my parents, mostly. And now I'm stuck here. Maybe I even deserve it.

Oh, my kindred spirit!
You aren't alone in this; it feels as though I am merely listening to my own thoughts echoed back at me...

a, could you perhaps elaborate on that a bit more?
I am curious as to how exactly you arrived at this particular stage of the process.

What was I even saying yesterday? Like, you aren't alone, nobody is ever really doing this solo.

Yes, I suppose you’re right—I say these things to her, and I truly believe them in the moment, yet the sensation remains unchanged. I am still left feeling utterly solitary and isolated, as if I’ve been cast aside and abandoned by everyone.

Look, the first step is just realizing you aren't flying solo. Once you know someone’s got your back, everything else just starts falling into place.🙂
