Matthew Rodriguez9 said:I honestly feel bad for guys like granitefalcon26... man, he’s got so many deep-seated complexes eating him alive from the inside out, it’s actually wild... looking down on a woman just because she chooses to be a stay-at-home mom is straight-up toxic...

In every single thread, he’s acting like the smartest guy in the room... some big-shot intellectual with a PhD...🤣

Just imagine being stuck at a dinner party with someone like that, having to sit through him bragging about his Ivy League degree and how brilliant he is... he treats everyone like they're beneath him, claiming he only hangs out with "high-level professionals" because anyone else isn't worth his time for a conversation...

Honestly, this guy is a textbook case for a therapist...😂

Good for his mom, though—she really raised a genius over there... absolutely bursting with all that brainpower...🤣

And what exactly would an "intellectual" have to discuss with someone who only has a high school diploma?😛😁

Go get some help, seriously...

You’re basically making clones at this point because you clearly can't stop yourself from saying something stupid every single time you open your mouth...

There is something seriously wrong with your head...you know what I mean?👎

When you run out of actual arguments, you resort to insults. It really just speaks volumes about your intellectual level.☕

Look, I’ve got a solid circle of friends—we're talking PhDs, big-shot CEOs from companies like JPMorgan, surgeons, lawyers, engineers... we always have plenty to talk about, and honestly, none of them would ever turn down a coffee or a beer with me.

Man, you're just a total mess... I wouldn't wish your life on anyone. You could have a hundred degrees to your name, but I'd still rather live one day in your shoes than spend an entire year being you.😂

Ferret, I'm telling you again... there's something seriously wrong with you. You're a lost cause.👎

Are you complaining because you basically sabotaged your own college career by picking a major you never actually cared about? Look, if that's the case, just pivot. Enroll in the program you actually want and get it done.

Feeling like you have no friends? Pick up the phone, call someone, and actually go out.
People change, and friend groups shift too. Nothing lasts forever—not even friendships.

I can tell you’re desperate for things to get better. I get it; breaking out of a rut is incredibly hard. But let’s be real: if you don't at least TRY, you aren't going to see any results.

Life is tough for everyone. There isn't a single soul on this planet who hasn't hit a massive life crisis, and there isn't anyone who won't face one in the future. So, go ahead—enroll in what you love, finish the degree, and build a life for yourself. At the end of the day, you're the only one responsible for your own path, not anyone else.

Look, I’m gonna give you some straight-up, well-meaning advice here: you need to actually start *living*. You need to get out there and let life happen to you, whatever that looks like—join a local pickup basketball league, hit up the same Starbucks or diner every single morning so you actually start recognizing faces, just get out in the world. And honestly? Find any job, even if it’s just flipping burgers or working retail at Target, just so you can stop leaning on your parents for every little thing. Once you start pulling your own weight, you’ll see how things naturally start falling into place. The most important thing is momentum, man. Just get moving. Get out of the house because staying cooped up in your room is basically a slow death sentence. Unplug the router, turn off the TV, and go interact with actual human beings instead of avatars... As far as college goes, my take is that you really need to sit down with your folks and have a heart-to-heart about it. Honestly, maybe going back to school when you're 23 is actually the smarter move. I know plenty of guys and girls who didn't roll into a university until they were 24 or 25, finished their degrees, and now they're crushing it in solid careers. They finally figured out what it means to be an adult and take responsibility for themselves. I haven't scrolled through all the previous posts yet, so if there's any other context I'm missing, let me know... Peace.

Don't sweat it too much, this whole thing is going to pass; it’s really just one tiny blip on your radar. You’re way too sharp to let this sink you completely,
you'll figure out a workaround and everything will settle down, truly. I’m not going to lecture you because, honestly, you don't need me telling you what to do, and
you already know exactly what steps to take once you feel ready to tackle it. Good luck!

Who, what, when, where, why? Melissa Brooks6, you got the answers to any of that? And more importantly, where do you actually fit into this whole mess? Are you just watching from the sidelines, listening in, or are you out there getting dragged into the fray yourself? No, I’m not being dramatic... I’m actually asking seriously.😢

Don't just philosophize into the void. Sorry, but you've been spinning your wheels on this exact topic for a year now, and it feels like you haven't moved an inch past the starting line. You actually know what the sensible move is here:
1. Do your best in school and aim for college.
2. If that doesn't pan out, find any job you can and get out—just physically remove yourself from that environment. And to actually make that happen:
3. You need to secure some kind of financial stability and a roof over your head. Which brings us right back to point
1. Do your best in school.
2. Find a job and leave all that behind.
3. Go see your primary care physician and be honest about what’s bothering you; ask for a referral to a psychiatrist (a psychiatrist, not just a counselor) so you can actually talk to someone about yourself. It might help you build some resilience and deal with whatever is making you so miserable.
4. Try to engage emotionally a bit more. Don't just fixate on your own misery... these kinds of crises are pretty common at your age. The questioning, the hopelessness, the feeling of being stuck in circles, the self-pity... I mean, it's not like you have a father with PTSD chasing you with an axe, but you know how that archetype goes, and you have every right to push back against it. Just don't use an axe, because he'll just bring a lawnmower instead... just get away from it all. There's nothing to fear. You only get one life; it's better to be hungry than dead.

So, what do you actually want??? What is your goal? How do you envision a "good" life? I'm not asking because I'm personally invested, but because you need to answer these questions for yourself. And honestly, those jokes—the chicken in the butt stuff—they aren't really funny.
If you actually have a desire, then use your brain, think carefully about what's realistic, and figure out how to make it happen. Slowly.

Look, let’s not overcomplicate life. If you actually have something specific to say—if you need help or just want to vent—then quit the vague philosophizing and the muddled, half-hearted rambling. Just be direct about what’s eating at you and what you actually want out of this. If you came to this thread looking for advice, some comfort, or a constructive conversation, the door is open. But if you just want to drift through abstract theories, maybe head over to a philosophy or metaphysics board instead. People here have real problems, obviously, but they’re usually trying to solve them with as little friction as possible. To get any traction here, you have to be clear so people can actually understand you. Right?

Just list out the actual steps you've taken to improve your situation. Be specific.☕

I started thinking less, talking even less, and just tuning out the noise entirely.
Look, I appreciate the concern or whatever, but I didn't come here looking for a lecture or a roadmap.

It doesn't really matter if you aren't.

But what matters is why you are! Why did you feel the need to tell your story?
What’s actually going on in your head when you're posting on these forums? What’s the core emotion driving you most of the time? I mean, why this specific way of expressing yourself—what are the underlying motives, the actual impulses? You should probably dig a little deeper into that... see what's really lurking behind it. If you're feeling miserable, what kind of situations are triggering that? From the way you write, it seems like you tend to withdraw. Fine. That's your defense mechanism. But then why go public about it? Usually, people do that because they're looking for a hand. And in any case, it sounds like you need one, because based on what you've said, you've alienated yourself from everything. You've distanced yourself from the actual situation instead of dealing with it. Are you afraid? What is it? Do you have any idea how to face it? If not, do you honestly think running away is a solid solution? Looking at your own posts, you can see it isn't. You're still unhappy, whether you're typing it out or not. So, do you actually want help or not?🤷

I laid my story out there just to see it all laid out in front of me, you know? Like, to see the whole picture. I asked for help at the end of the post, but if I'm being real, I was mostly just looking for some shred of empathy. I can't even tell if I've got a legitimate problem or if I'm just making the whole thing up in my own head.
What's my main emotion?
Man, I don't even know how to put a finger on it. It's this weird, messy cocktail of nostalgia for when things were actually good, mixed with pure rage and this heavy, sinking feeling of melancholy and worthlessness. Every once in a while, I get a flash of genuine happiness—that feeling of things being "normal" again—but unfortunately, it feels like a one-time-use coupon that's already expired.
Just sitting there, overthinking absolutely nothing and everything all at once. Avoiding people while simultaneously craving connection and someone to actually get me. A total lack of closeness, just this vague, undefined loneliness hanging over everything. That’s pretty much the gist of it.
