Demons, angels, pure evil... just forces at work.
I heard a story once from an officer at the LAPD—this guy was being arrested because he’d completely torn his mother apart and was trying to shove all her remains down a high school toilet.

Apparently, his whole goal was to let a demon loose... ☕

Too many people just plead insanity in court nowadays to dodge responsibility; it seems to be the new trend...

I don't care how your "spiritual" journey started. Everything those gurus, shamans, Dalai Lamas, imams, and priests told you is nothing but lies and brainwashing.☕☕☕

I'm lost.

When you don't know what's happening, being lost isn't actually the hard part.

- Certain substances could be the cause (whether you're using them or not).

- A brain tumor.

- Dementia.

- Severe systemic issues, like liver or kidney failure.

- Then there's the list of psychiatric conditions, including schizophrenia—though that isn't the only possibility. You could just be experiencing hallucinations alongside severe depression.

- There’s also the option that someone is intentionally trying to dismantle your sanity.
Maybe someone is just playing games with you, or maybe you're being poisoned. It's less likely, but it isn't impossible. You're the only one who can judge if that's the case, though even you might struggle to be certain since you don't know people well enough to know how far their dull minds might go.

*:

- There is also the option that Satan has entered your house because he wants to eat the cookies you hide in the fridge; you catch him every time, and he flees through the window, leaving nothing but a shadow.
- Or perhaps witches are attempting to kidnap you for sexual exploitation.
- Or maybe aliens have arrived specifically to implant a chip in your brain.
- There's the possibility you moved into a house where the previous tenants were brutally murdered; they can't move on to the next level, so they're stuck in your house, peering at you while you're naked in the shower at night. I'm not sure who one would even report such a filthy act to.

I don't know who you should turn to for help. If it's the Devil, try God. If it's witches, call the Spanish Inquisition, though I'm not sure they're still operational. Honestly, even our old American Inquisition wasn't that bad, so you could reach out to them. They really messed up my great-great-grandfather... he was a wizard, so I actually *do* recommend them.
In the case of aliens, maybe contact the US government or the Men in Black. I don't mean African Americans, but rather the highly efficient Men in Black organization, or FBI agents Mulder and Scully—whom I'd personally call first because I had a thing for Mulder. As for ghosts, I'm not sure who handles reports of sexual abuse; maybe the police? And if you want to kick them out of the house, call Dan Aykroyd without hesitation.

I feel terrible that I can't be of more help in these scenarios, but I can give you excellent advice for the first possibility: the best step would be to see your primary doctor and tell them what's going on. Doctors generally possess much more information regarding your specific situation than some random person on a forum telling you to exorcise demons or devils. Imagine how tragic it would be if someone found out that a person suffering from a brain tumor was once advised by a stranger to go to church to cast out the Devil.

James White73 said:Nothing works—not a decent night's sleep, not any of those pills they try to push on you. I wouldn't even dream of stepping foot in a psychiatrist's office because, honestly, I know exactly how it goes; they just throw a million words at you, acting like some magical combination of phrases is going to make everything feel better, and it’s all just total garbage... sure, they can listen to me talk, but there is absolutely no way in hell they're going to recommend actual treatment, because I am not crazy!

So, are you taking any pills? Which ones?
And a psychiatrist shouldn't be your first stop anyway; go to your primary care physician instead.
Look, neither you nor a bunch of doctors who haven't even run basic tests can actually know what's going on with you. But finding out is possible. Just go see a specialist. If we're talking about something like a tumor, catching it early is everything.

I don't really subscribe to the idea of good gods versus evil gods. To me, everything is part of one unified whole. Even what we call "evil" can simply be a test or a necessary challenge. Having the freedom to choose isn't inherently terrifying; even the most relentless Devil can't touch you if you decide there’s no deal to be made. Honestly, though, the most dangerous "demon" out there is the possibility that you're just hallucinating because of a brain tumor.

James White73 said:Everyone, please just disregard my previous posts and threads—I’m asking you, please don't mock me because I am dealing with something incredibly serious here. About a week ago, I was home alone when I heard this loud banging coming from the kitchen. I didn't have the nerve to actually go check it out, but I was almost 100% certain there were burglars in the house. Then, I heard the front door slam shut. My parents came over shortly after, and there wasn't any sign of a break-in at all. Fast forward to two days ago—again, I’m home by myself, and once more, I hear that banging, only it sounded even louder than before. This time, I actually worked up the courage to look, and I saw these dark shadows fleeing through the window—it looked like the curtains were fluttering, maybe from the wind, but I’m convinced it was those strange shadows. The kitchen door slammed too, which might have just been a draft, but in my mind, it was tied to those figures. And then yesterday afternoon, it happened again. Now, it’s started to haunt me. Everywhere I look, I can't stop thinking about it. I’m terrified to be alone in a room—God forbid I'm left in my apartment, especially at night—and I’m scared to be anywhere without people around. Even today, I went out for a bike ride on a trail, and out of nowhere, this panic just gripped me. It’s this sick, paralyzing fear where I feel like I’m going to hear something no matter which way I turn. I can't live like this anymore; I really can't. I’ve even had thoughts of just ending it all, just to make everything stop... I know you might think I'm not sane if I take my own life over this, but this isn't "normal" anymore. This isn't just some standard fear of the unknown. It feels like fear is everywhere, closing in on me. No matter where I go, I am afraid, and I truly cannot handle this. I don't want to talk to anyone else about it because they would undoubtedly laugh in my face. I don't know what to do... I'm lost 😢 😢😢

Maybe try a psychiatrist, I heard they actually help.

I guess it just wasn't my destiny😬

too much evil in me😁

I'm definitely the type who looks at everything through a psychological lens. I really think anyone can feel that special connection with God, especially when things get tough and you feel stuck... if you can feel love for another person, you can feel it for an imaginary friend too. It's pretty simple, really...

So, I guess my question for you is this: what are you actually going to do if the people who believe and pray end up being right? Like, the folks who believe in God and spend their time praying—they aren't really losing anything, they can only gain something, right? But what happens to you guys who don't believe? And, I mean, how do you explain it when certain people who have basically lost their minds after doing specific religious rituals suddenly become totally normal again and can't even remember that whole period where they were under that influence—you know, from evil forces or some kind of spirit waking up inside them??😕

The most sensible answer in this whole thread. I can't believe people in the Psychology subforum have started discussing exorcisms, ghosts, and the Devil's work.
If someone is hallucinating, they need medical treatment. If it's caused by a tumor, they need surgery and care. If it's schizophrenia or another illness, there are treatments for that too. The point is to see a primary care doctor first, judging by the posts and the mention of psychiatrists. And they MUST get treatment. Right now, they might just see ghosts in the window, but in a few weeks or months, they could start seeing the Devil in family members or experience auditory hallucinations that lead to something like, "Demons told me to kill myself." I say this because I knew someone with schizophrenia who saw the Devil in their five-year-old son and thought their spouse was poisoning them!
If nothing else, they need treatment—they're dealing with suicidal thoughts.

🤣

What would I get?
I try to be a good person... just a decent human being... what more could I need?

Honestly, what's the point of living in a church and praying 24/7 if you lack empathy or don't care when you hurt people? Pffft.

I mean, I personally think it’s worth trying everything, and I really do believe it helps some people... because if someone doesn't even try, they might miss out on something that could actually work, so I guess those who haven't seen a miracle yet probably just need to keep searching since there's likely a cure for everything out there if you can just find it. 😉

Well, I wasn't really talking about what you should do specifically, but I guess the point is that the people who pray are gaining something, whereas those who don't are just staying neutral, so maybe you see why one side seems better.

And regarding that other thing, I suppose maybe that person who keeps acting out might eventually have something sink in and reach their soul, so they might actually stop the nonsense and become a more moral person. 🙄

It's easy to pray for a miracle. It's a lot harder to get off your butt, work on yourself, and actually do something about it.

I mean, I’m always all for people focusing on their own personal growth and doing their own thing. But honestly, what can you even do about someone who just doesn't have any moral compass and keeps messing everything up? Like, they just don't give a damn about anyone else, and they really don't care if they hurt people or leave a total mess in their wake.🤷

mrgixyz said:if God is actually as good as people claim, then I guess it shouldn't matter that I didn't believe, because I haven't gone out of my way to hurt anyone or commit any injustices like a lot of religious folks do. and honestly, what kind of "good" being expects us to act like toys just to entertain him by going to church and praying? if that's the case, he probably won't send me to hell, and maybe he'll even be glad I wasn't such a selfish, wicked person👍
but since all this stuff is basically just inventions from priests, gurus, shamans, or just hallucinations from prophets—like Moses, who I guess probably ate some hallucinogenic cacti on Mount Sinai and saw a talking bush—then it pretty much means when I die, my brain just shuts off and I cease to exist, period.

I mean, if you're counting people who do evil and injustice as believers, then I guess you might not really know the difference between a believer and an atheist?
We aren't trying to entertain anyone by going to church; we're just showing gratitude for everything we've been given and asking for guidance.
Wait, did you say your brain just turns off??? Do you actually believe in the human spirit or things like an aura? If you think it's strictly just brain function, how do you explain intuition or those other deep states of being?
